I kinda like the idea of people thinking my watch isn’t so expensive. Kinda like a sleeper
I have the resin square with the negative display. It's gotten me through gym workouts, mountain climbing, ocean swimming, and a deployment in the sand and heat. It hides it's scratches fairly well and it is light and comfortable. It has lost its deep black color over the years (almost like a black/grey color now), but it is one of my favorite possessions. And it still looks good.
Whoever sees a G-Shock Titanium and think that it's only worth $50 is the same person who thinks that a Patek Philippe minute repeater is worth like $5000. These watches are for people who know. People who want something special, something to stand out. Collectors, enthusiasts. And when it comes to G-Shocks to talk about, there is no better G-Shock to talk about than the Titanium. Personally I am not in the market for a $1600 watch in general, but if I were, then the Titanium would be worthy of serious consideration. For now, I will settle with my M5610.
Yes, for me it was worth the price - I respect that people’s taste may different. I do find it funny when people claim it’s not worth the money because if it sells then it’s worth the money to those of us who are purchasing it. Value is subjective and so is taste - I like this watch as a G Shock square enthusiasts and the quality of this watch is unreal (the baseline squares don’t compare) - It truly is a “Stealth Wealth” watch and I personally like that aspect of it not being the typical flash of the $1500+ watch.
Not gonna lie if I could get one I would lol
Looks good. Definetly a G-Shock square enthusiast's watch
OMG, this watch is AMAZING!!!
Its price is amazing too
I think it's the long term usage that will matter. If you compare new-to-new then the shape and styling will be identical. They are the same watch! It will be how pristine the DLC coated titanium and sapphire glass will look after 2 years compare to the resin and mineral glass. Even though standard G-Shock are tough, you will get a lot of micro scratch, rubs and nicks on the resin and glass. For the mark up, you are paying for the best material science have to offer and takes the essence of G-Shock to the absolute limit.
GREAT WATCH!!! I JUST GOT THE GW5000 and i LOVE IT!!!!!!
Exact same watch... Apart from the Titanium.. Saphire.. and lesser module.. but it’s the same!! 😉
The greatest all metal square!
Thanks for the honest review. Not many YT channel does that anymore these days.
Great review! Subscribed. I really like your review style. Very down to earth, very informational, and great quality video. I purchased this yesterday and this is hands down the best square Casio has made. Nothing comes close. I have the reverse display resin version as well, and it feels like a toy compared to this. Thanks for all the info!
Thanks for the sub and I like your review style as well. Subbed back!
That is a thing of beauty. I just bought the silver all metal version and I'm happy with that. But this one does look gorgeous.
I recently purchased the last of these that Shopping In Japan had in stock. I also own the 5600 that you show in this video and wore it since it was released, but I really prefer the titanium. One thing I have to say about the 5600 though that I don't often see pointed out is that the yellow background creates great contrast. That yellow 5600 is one of the most easily readable of any square display.
One of the best watch channels. Keep up the amazing consistency. Love how ur style never changes.
Thank you sir, I really appreciate it!
I totally understand g shocks are for beating up. But i LOVE the sapphire crystal. I like how u can beat it up like a crappy digital watch but it still will stay crystal clear
A really realistic review! 👍🙂
the fact that gshock enthusiasts wont really buy this, but watch people wont drop this amount on this(because they own more expensive watchESS). makes this watch great buy, i found it for 1700 CDN from japan. this will surely only rise in price(not as much as dw5000c, but it will increase no doubt).
I have to say, although it is expensive... its pretty damn special.
It's one thing to say "but its the same module" when its a G-Shock, but when you look at the materials and the processes required to make it I can see where they are coming from with the price.
I don't think you can actually find a fully DLC coated Ti watch that even remotely compares in features and build quality to this one for less money.
I have one in the mail luckily I managed to get a fantastic deal on one, its easy to justify as something I will have for the rest of my life.
I have the gold and black resin square you're holding, and when you held them together, you can see the difference in STN legibility. That titanium square is so nice.
I absolutely loved my early DW2000 ? it was the solar powered forerunner to gshock. Man i would give my right arm to have one again
Nice watch. More than I can mentally justify. I already have a GW-S5600-1JF and a GW-B5600BC-1ER. I might buy a GMW-B5000D-1. Just watching for the price to come down. Some are now below $450. Still not a slam dunk price for me.
There was once a time when Rolex was an affordable tool watch and now we've entered a time when G-Shock is making luxury timepieces. Make no mistake about it, these titanium and full metal watches ARE luxury timepieces and priced accordingly. These ARE NOT the same pieces as their resin counterparts, these ARE NOT disposable timepieces that people beat the crap out of, these watches ARE jewelry.
If you want a watch to beat up then get a resin G-Shock, if you want a luxury timepiece that turns heads then get one of these full metal or titanium pieces. Is it worth it? YES!!!!! And the fact that the average Joe can't afford it is even better.
Ah... But is the markup for the sake of appearance and to make them more luxurious?
No watch novice would know how much of a markup you have paid unless they are already in the know.
Titanium with DLC, sapphire glass and everything else you are paying for all makes the watch tougher or more accurate.
There is no gold plating or gemstone to add to the cost of the watch just for the sake of bling.
If you are getting a diamond tipped drill bit, you are not getting a jewelry, you are just getting a better tool that performs the same task better.
I got a titanium G-Shock for the sole purpose of wanting to be understated. I want a watch that will be tough as diamond and remain accurate with the minimal amount of care and maintenance.
This is like giving as much resources G-Shock can reasonable ask for and see where it can take them while still staying true to their core pillars.
I don't really care if other people can get it. I just wanted a beater watch that is indestructible!!! Like no micro-scratches, no little blemishes and rubbings that you get on a resin. I want a G-Shock that will be so ridiculously tough that it will look pristine shiney after 40 years of accurate time keeping.
Good content bro, as usual. That's CRAZY 🤪 money, I can get a minty second hand speedy for that kinda cash.
Just buy the 5610 stunning watch quality and value and of course functionality....
Yes 5610 is awesome and if you really wanted to upgrade to titanium then buy a mod kit!! So much cheaper.
Looks so good.
Great Review Thanks for sharing.
In today's time Criminal times, this watch may have it's Advantage. No one wants to rob someone with a $50 G shock. I'm sure that low key Titanium All black $50 look alike G-Shock will have it's Advantages. Especially the way crime has been lately all over USA.
Lots of Warnings in NYC about people being targeted for high end watches and phones. We can't legally Carry in NYC 😢 So we are at there mercy.
The resin one in gold tint looks much better in real life than on video. I have one
Only if you're have the money and a hardcore fan of G shock
damn it casio, just please put out an updated gw5000 with 3459/3461 for us that like the ss dlc case in resin bezel.
I love G-Shocks and the squares in particular. I also don't mind spending quite a bit of cash on a watch. But this one really doesn't make much sense. It's a very poor value, considering the entire square range.
Usually you'd buy the titanium version of a watch because the stainless steel version is too heavy for you. But in this case, it's actually heavier than the resin model. And titanium has its own trade-offs. I'm also wondering how well the coating would hold up against actual abuse.
Function-wise, you don't get anything special beyond what a Bluetooth 5600 offers you, so that basically just leaves the STN display as a deciding feature. But personally I don't have problems with regular displays.
If the titanium was say, a $200 premium over the full metal 5000, sure, I could see myself buying one for fun. But let's be real: you can buy THREE of those for what this costs: a full black, full silver and your choice of a full gold or the half-resin options.
Me: I wants it.
Sees price.
My wallet: well yes, but actually no.
Sapphire does it for me
The titanium G would be my dress watch lol
I've the 5610 love it its a great watch
what model is that u showed on the right, with gold dial?
An excellent presentation, thank you! Undoubtedly a superb Casio & the very best of the G-Shocks. However it comes at a high cost. Yes, titanium, Yes, DLC, Yes,, Blue Tooth & a super bracelet & an enhanced display. However I'll stick with my 5610., other than the build, the & enhanced display, my watch has all the functions. Quite frankly I would be afraid to wear it. My guess is collectors only, unless you have serious money, I don't!
Thanks so much!
Try being a trucker. I had a $1,500 dollar watch I wore as a flatbedder even after a 4 inch strap destroyed a nice $750 Bulova watch. Most training places in 8 weeks can get you to minimum 60k a year starting. And put in some effort and buy your own truck and you'll be grossing $300k a year like I was at the time.
I wish the square metal has this brushed finish
Timer with repeat? Does the light stay on when setting?
I’ll keep my GW-5600-E for now it’s rock solid
Update! Bought an all metal G in silver (ss) and absolutely love it!
Are you gonna get the camo-version of this one.?
That's the one I have
What do you think about getting the cheaper G shock and just putting a stainless steel or titanium bracelet on it from aliexpress?
Maaaaan, I want one
Thank you for the great review. I have a question regarding if the watch contains any gold components/materials ?
Thanks.
Ridiculous when you can buy three of a steel version of a watch for the same as a titanium version.
Do you notice a big difference between between the basic LCD display versus the STN LCD display?
Higher contrast, wider viewing angle. Almost no ghosting. Awesome display!
I rea.ly like the yellow tint of the display on your watch
I would say that the carbon/titanium square is a more interesting watch.
They may production issues. They for SURE have support issues. I got one yesterday and I'm returning it tomorrow. One of the link corners was polished down to bare titanium. No DLC coating left on it. The thing is that this was a VERY obvious defect. I can't believe it made it out of the factory. I contacted Casio and was told they cannot ship me a replacement link or ship one to a local watch shop. The only service they offered was me mailing this brand new watch off to them with no offer to cover postage or insurance. Maybe I'm being picky about such an expensive watch not having such an obvious flaw but I really don't feel so.
I've got my own video showing the issue but I'd want to check with #MAVERICKWATCHREVIEWS before posting it here.
Hi Paul, two things...1) Very sorry and surprised to hear about your issue with the watch and 2) Thanks for being a class act and asking if you can post your video link. Please post the link as I'm sure we're all very curious to see it.
@@maverickwatchreviews th-cam.com/video/Pel1xoHBei8/w-d-xo.html That's the video as I recorded it. I'd like to say that it's not a review of the watch. The watch was really great, of course it was, and it's a really cool thing to feel what's mechanically the same as the stainless model but at 2/3rds the weight. My issues are with the presence of the flaw and how it could be addressed. Even now I still feel that Casios approach to it seems careless and flippant in addressing what should be a serious issue with production of what should be a premier product line.
Wow, I can't believe that the issue with the link got by Casio's QC and I also agree that their support on the matter was very sub-par. I would also allow comments on that video. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of support and agreement you get from the watch community.
It happened... again!
I really want to like this watch and so I talked myself into using some amazon bucks and buying another.
I got it and this time set out to examine it closely from the start. This time the second link on the low side had ANOTHER bare patch of titanium. I was careful this time to have not removed anything but a tiny section of the factory wrap so it's going back with full factory wrapping and back in the exact packaging so I don't feel so bad about returning it.
I've returned it and asked the seller to have a look just to make sure they concur.
He said he had sold several and nobody had any issues. It seems pretty crazy though that two of the ones I got had this issue. So I've asked him to check it. I was exactly like the bare section on the third link in my video though. Just polished through the DLC.
What's frustrating about this is that this is all the result of polishing and nothing on that watch should be polished. It should be all matte DLC. All matte DLC on the face and body. All matte DLC on the links and clasp.
I might get another or I might wait for them to release an all matte titanium version except it'll probably have a negative display with red face or something awful like that.
I also allowed comments and got this picture of the second watch.

Woo g shock titanium so expensive 😱😱😱Gw5000 usd280, titanium strap and bezel usd170, total usd450, save usd1150
It’s beautiful but ridiculously expensive. GW5000 suddenly looks a bargain.
1,600 is too much for this. Titanium and sapphire with a G Shock module don't cost that much.
Skip to 3:11 for watch reveal
What about he pins? Are they Titanium? I thought that would be a good question.
i use my plastic Gshocks while working in the gym, i don't think the Titanium Square will be scratch/ding free when lifting weights in the gym.
I wish it had more color in the writing, maybe some red and yellow
titanium is grey, a nice dark grey. Why paint it black? I prefer the Titanium camo version. good video thanks for reviewing.
For scratch resistance and thanks for watching :)
insert name here DLC diamond like coating surface treatment. Protects against scratches, ugly Ti corrosion, and imparts a nice jewelry like gloss. DLC is one of the best surface treatments out there. It is definitely worth several hundred dollars on its own on a watch like this. Not something that you can just slap on after the fact. Tough and beautiful looking.
You'd better try GW-5000-1JF just for 28000JPY now
Where you found it with that price?

I recently bought one of the metal bezel and bracelets from Ali Express and installed on a 5610. Seems pretty good quality, and I've noticed they've started selling the titanium kits for about $200. So you could recreate a similar watch (minus the higher level display and sapphire?) for $300-$350. Not original, but also something I would care as much about beating up. I suspect the titanium is probably a lower grade metal and not necessarily finished as well, but still not worth the difference to me personally.
What is the model number of the comparison watch on the right side?
can you add to your reviews "geiger counter" test? would be cool to see how radioactive those watches are.
You sound like Seth Rogen :)
No need to insult this guy.
I like my titanium to look like titanium.
Now the mrg is the best and most expensive
The LCD though..... could’ve been offered with an exclusive, bigger display though.
RADIN SYAH the display is actually a little bigger check the part when he’s checking the electro luminescence
No vfm here just nice square with a collector pricing
I love my black all metal and even that was a hard pill to swallow. I would’ve been down for this at even 1k.
Well now you have a soon to be collector's item on your hands as production stop a week or so ago. Take care of it brother!
Another thing- titanium ageless Square G shock design
I like it .
What's price
I wish they made them in titanium gray
I ordered camo ti band and bezel from Hong Kong and will put in 5035 module, $450 all in
It's a great watch, I have the 5600bc and really comfortable, practical, daily idea. Buuuuut... I want more the 5000v or the 5000 Camouflage Titanium. But the 5000v makes me crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You want functionality then $20 timex is enough for you. Yes, I was expecting titanium G-Schock square watch, and because not everyone can afford it I want to have them even more
Something looks wrong on your resin watch. At 12 aclock position there is a stripe on your screen, your screen itself doesnt look straight. Did your module inside move? 7:02
No, it's a reflection :)
Got mine for 375$ with no box, brand new. How is that? Crazy.
It looks like a high end cassette deck, like a sony es series late model
No you didn't so it's not "crazy"...lol.
Most likely a fake
I have two Rolex watches and I have spent over 7k on G-Shocks over some time. I cannot buy this watch.. It is too expensive!!! I might buy it when I am drunk one night though... : D
Same! 😂
i hope they release it in a "titanium" color.
are the buttons gold plated?
Yes
Does G Shock have a titanium round watch?
yes
Yes and it's a bit cheaper too
I never heard the “sapphire glass” crystal on digital watch.
Check out Ventura digital watches. Swiss Made, Sapphire With AR coating, hardened st. Steel or Titanium and the best LCD displays I've ever see and so on.. Have one in my collection and I can tell you thay are absolute blast.
For a second I thought I could afford this. Nope it's not sub $150....
The appeal of the square G to me is that it is an inexpensive workhorse (5600E) that I don't have to worry about. I can't imagine why I would buy something like this at this price point to wear as a show piece. IDK
Hi,
I’m looking to buy this watch. Do you think that this watch would last a lifetime, compared to the resin version that might not? Or do I meet in the middle with the metal? Thanks
I would get the GMWB5000D-1. This titanium version is VERY cool but INSANELY overpriced. They stopped making the titanium version in December 2019 and they still have them for sale...that should tell you something :)
what makes you think the resin wont hold up a lifetime?
That's a great watch, but I'd always be thinking of the watch I could get for the same money. Then even if I did get it I'd be babying it which is the opposite of the point of a G-Shock. Looks like another Vostok amphibian for me.
imagine, for the 50th anniversary, solid gold king only 50 worldwide. Hehe he
Cool
Great review! if i was on the edge, this made me jump. I want one. ... dammit.
Thanks so much :)
this is crazy
Titanium and sapphire glass doesn't make it a £1200 digital watch
I just don't get how Casio can justify the price
It's at least twice as much as it should be👎
It is very nice though.
Its a collectable for the few enthusiasts
@@aleksanderblinn4492 exactly. People that aren't die hard G Shock collectors are NOT the target market for this watch.
thats why they sell really bad. they arent even produced anymore and even though its a limited edition you can still find them everywhere. 700-800 is the max i would pay for it
Pricing is outrageous! I would take the resin one. Even the $280 GW-5000 without Bluetooth is a better buy imo.
It's beautiful but man it is too much money.
Gawlee....funny as heck
I'm one of the biggest G-Shock square enthusiast you'll find and I also agree that the Ti Square is a bit overpriced. What was once the watch of the people is becoming the watch of the elite. Like Jurij mentioned, it's now a luxury watch. Even if it's DLC coated it will still ding/scratch easily if you are not careful. I've already seen a few that are banged up. Unless you're a hard core G-Shock fan you won't be able to tell the difference between this $1600 Ti Square and the much cheaper DW-5035D that came out last year.
If people are buying it, is it overpriced?
I have the all metal version, my favorite watch, a bit too blingy tho, it shines like a mofo and a bit heavy. I might sell it along with my gulfmaster and get this one 🤓.
Expensive but you won't regret that the tanium one is lovely
OMG 😱
Great review. If only you could get that positve STN display in the GW-B5600BC-1ER without the yellow tone and a face more like the GW-M5610 or the GW-5000-1JF. That would be perfection.
I was thinking that as well but the slight yellow tint is much more subdued in person that you don't even really notice it.
@@maverickwatchreviews I think it's the reflective gold bezel that would distract me the most unfortunately.
If you had to handle it carefully then it is not a G-shock..
Good point :)
Quanto custa? Quero comprar um como faco
10:05 - Why would you buy this watch to show off to others? This watch, as are all of the "all metal varieties", are for the owner. Quite a silly review really...
Quite a silly comment really. Of course some people buy things(cars, houses, watches, etc) just to show off. I would think most people would know that but then I read dumb comments like yours.
@@maverickwatchreviews I guess not enough people "noticed" your expensive G...
@@wolffram1 Now I'm convinced you're a moron...lol. This was, as stated in the review, a loaner watch. I wouldn't pay this much for any G-Shock. Take care moron.
Too much $$$ my casio pathfinder titanium was way less money and has more features. Cool watch though
