Very nice review. I own the normal GMW-B5000 in silver steel. I was afraid too that it would be too much polish, but actually only the bezel had some polish, not all over though. The strap is only polished on the pieces between the links, just like this titanium version. The steel version is actually really great. A lot cheaper than the titanium version, but the same kind of quality. And I really like the heavier weight. A metal watch should be hefty imo. For someone who is on a budget, but who loves the looks of this titanium watch, I can really recommend the DW-5035 in black with gold accents. It is a very nice looking watch, which has the same specs as the original G-Shock: the DW-5000.
Thank you for watching and your comment. I really appreciate the fact that there are so many choices with such a great module. My usual choice is Steel with metal watches as well, I like the weight. Casio's Titanium models are a better experience than many other brands for me.
I really liked the Tron, considered buying it before I sent the review one back, but I had been going a bit too nuts on watch purchases for the collection....like this one lol
@@DougFNJ I think this is worth collecting. Those metal g shocks kinda meh and boring to me. This one not as daily beater, but very uniquely cool. Not everyday you see such precision in engraving.
Hi Tom, thank you. They can be found on Ebay. I'm actually considering selling mine to fund some other purchases. you could drop me a note at dougfnjwatches@gmail.com if you are interested.
On multiple alarm casios I like to set them all up at once. I scatter them through the day, like wake up time, lunch, etc. It is easier to change it a small amount, especially if doing it on the watch.
I also like adding custom cities for the time zones. Having your home timezone set with your actual hometown is cool. Three out of five of my world time selections are custom cities. I've gotten to like the pin and collar and I feel better about it's security than screws. Screws are just as fiddly anyhow.
Thank you, it really is great to be back! It's fun to do, and I am getting the opportunity to experience a lot of great watches! This has quickly become one of my favorite pieces.
I've seen them in some colors as cheap as $1000 on ebay. I haven't seen this color under $1400. But I still can't justify it over the GW-B5600BC-1 which is similar in features and appearance and weight because the combi bracelet is plastic. New they are $200 and something up to over $300 but used over $100. But that's a huge difference. Still positive display, still multiband, still bluetooth, still tough solar, still linked bracelet.
This is more for a collector. It's limited and no longer available, sapphire crystal, and excellent details. Definitely not for everyone, but I love the fact that there are so many variations with this module to choose from.
I have both. You'd just have to experience this Ti watch on your wrist to see the difference. The gold accents, the highly polished bezel, and the very robust Ti bracelet give this watch a "Rolls-Royce of black Casio Squares" feel to it. This one will never leave my collection. It gets worn more than any of my other Casio's, and more than my mechanical Swiss watches.
@@DougFNJ I have many other non-square Gs but the Ti Squares have long been my passion. Have a couple of 2k Muddys, one being the Flare armed. Couple of Frogman’s, Poison Dart Frog being one of them, the MTG Rainbow Mountain and a few others. All either premium or hard to find.
G-Shock psycho that's what you call me because I paid and A lot for the titanium Square G-Shock the other cameo version And very happy about that 😀 don't care what other people think The most comfortable G-Shock have ever worn. Better than the G-Shock MR_G titanium GPS much more comfortable
Yes. You will be paying for the Titanium with DLC and Sapphire glass that is going to be A LOT more durable than resin. All the scuffs and nicks you normally see on the resin after a couple of year of knocks and bangs won't appear on this watch. Some of the test videos on the above two materials are amazing!
Nice watch, but being it was so low key and plain. It just looks like a regular Casio. I thought it was a bit overpriced for a plain jane. It sure is dressier than the Cameo for sure. Camouflage Titaniums are more sporty watches. I think Even The Cameo are great because when you see it you know exactly what it is and can't mistake it for anything else. I also love the G-Shock GMW-B5000TVA-1 Titanium Virtual Armor Which is the One I went with. Hopefully it should be here Today by the afternoon time. Had a hard time getting watch released from USA Customs, because of paperwork issues. Finally after a week of holding it hostage and me calling in and playing Hostage Negotiator, it was released. Seems they "USA" are getting really stricts about imports coming from Asia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Etc.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I like the plain Jane and knowing what I have without the rest of the world knowing it. But This is one of the things I love about Casio, they put options out there that appeal to most. Some like their watch loud, some like them discrete. I like that Titanium Virtual Armor. Please let me know what you think when you get it.
Great looking watch. I ordered one but decide to cancel. A g-shock is suppose to be a beater watch. I’d get an automatic entry level luxury Swiss brand for this price.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. This is more a collectors watch, I definitely wouldn't be wearing this one on a construction site. What did you go for?
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Steel is easier to work with. They had to build machines to specifically work with the titanium and had the ability to make limited amounts. They used sapphire for the crystal, and the detailed finishing is finer. They made it worth it.
@@DougFNJdidn't know about sapphire. And it is really cool. I am thinking about the steel version. Huge fan of the square g shocks. That one with the gold squares is really cool too. I can see it more. I might get one if I can find a 0% finance deal. Thanks for the info and review and enjoy your watch.
Casio like Rolex ripping people of wit watches that are worth much les to manufacture than what they charge. These metal squares are a total ripoff. Just buy a mod kit from Ali Express & be my better off.

This one is understated. But i got the TRON SS GMW instead. Speaks to me and i am a motorcycle rider. TRON for life!

Hi Doug, great video. Any idea where I can purchase a GMWB5000TCM-1?

The only thing lacking with the reminder feature is that you cant set the times in the form of alarm reminders when the event comes up
DougFNJ Well, you could set them at, say, 6:00, 6:05, etc.
Fantastic review and watch...BUT....I just can't justify that price...lol. Said that in my review as well. Still a gorgeous watch. Keep em coming sir!
Thanks Maverick, it was hard to justify the full price, and was still hard with the discount. But man, in the end it was so worth it.
Nice review Doug. The strap is very similar to my GWA1000FC-1A4, except that's a mixture of resin and steel I believe.
Thanks Soloman, yes that’s the composite resin/steel strap. Those are definitely much easier to size.
Refreshing review. Not just gushing over it, but going over the subtleties and nuances
Thats how I have always liked to do reviews, more along the line of walkthroughs and how to's. Thank you for watching and taking time to comment.

The pin and collar drive me nuts when trying to properly size, but it truly is adjust once, and no need to again after that.
Great review, Doug. Awsome to see you back in the mix as well. Love this piece!

Doug. Would you mind reviewing your other higher end watches?
Thanks Mahi, I definitely will. Keep an eye out.
Nice watch, good review. Have you gotten your hands on the GBX-100 yet?
Thanks man, I have not, but I will keep my eye out and see about getting one for review.

Very light, just 10 grams

The redeeming quality on this watch, particularly because it’s limited is high resell value.
