I used AK TRUE METAL brass on top of my capstans and it turned out awesome! Awesome as always Ben! The Midwest model shop is the best! My go to for anything 1:200 Titanic!
Thanks for the shout out Ben 😄 Great work on the poop deck. Those cranes are just amazing to look at, and I agree about the rigging, that really ties things together to make that realistic look. Well done! 👏
At 2:10. On Olympic, Titanic, and Britannic, that beam was not originally for a swing set, though it was used as such later on for Olympic... when the weather allowed for it. It was part of the support structure for a series of triangular canvas tarps that could be rigged up to provide cover during bad weather or shade on hot, sunny days.
I agree absolutely beautiful build. I took a step back from modeling about 6 years ago. Just got totally burned out. I know Ben is working on 2 kits at the same time. I wonder how many hours Ben and Nora have invested in this huge Titanic project.😂😂😂😂
For the Capstans, I would have taken some really fine sandpaper to the tops. Looking at the capstans on the wreck, they have hardly any patina.... that's just my two sense, or at least that's what I think I'll do :) 😁
The poop deck is the bit I remember from the movie: the people hanging on desperately as the Titanic begins her final plunge, then losing their grips on the rails as they plunge down, caroming off the capstans and the crane supports. Kinda chilling to see you putting that area together.
Looking fantastic. (10:46) Good news here is that you're not actually cheating at all. Those were all built to swivel from side to side on the real ship, so still very accurate.
Ben, what are your plans for the two KA item Y02 vent pipes on poop deck? I'm using Scaledecks as well and noticed the holes in the deck where those vents would go are not the same distance from center line.
Do you close the gap between the stairs and the railings @6:01? i installed the stairs at first before the railings because of that. And the vents on the Poop deck can be rotated in any direction. Like mentioned in one of the last Videos from "Oceanliner Designs" a couple of days ago. But as always its an amazing job you are doing there...
Very cool work, Ben. Your Titanic is amazing. Too bad the real one sank. Imagine how nice your model would have been if there were more photographs of the real thing. No, wait, you'd be working on the Enterprise now because the Titanic wouldn't have been so famous. It would have had a long career sailing back and forth across the Atlantic until it simply wore out. :)
Well the whole starboard side had rust on it during the maiden voyage. You’d be surprised what was and was not prioritized. They only repainted the port side before departing 🤷🏻♂️
awesome work, I am looking for a builder that can build a model for a non-profit. They are 130 yr organization that during WWII raised over $130 MILLION dollars to build over 40 bombers and fighters and paid to build out and supply a hospital ship. I am looking for someone that can build a model of the ship the USSHS Hope.

The rigging looks fantastic! Well, all of it does actually.
Coincidence? I think TH-cam knows more than we think. I was recommended the Norwegian Modeling Enterprise videos just last week!

Great job Ben. I watch Kenneth too, ya he really good with PE.

Ben, great work as usual.

Todo el proceso es increíble, es un trabajo hermoso y excelso, todos los detalles son sumamente perfectos... muchas felicidades por excelente trabajo
Great work Ben, surely just leave the brass tops and they would naturally dull with age

Great update, looking awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Looking awesome 👍
Beautiful work sir. Very impressive.
Great vid no toilet paper in sight 😂😂😂😂
I hope you feel better
I’m at the doctor now… 🤞
Yea that little pole was for a swing set all though Titanic never had hers put up. There's some photos of it on Olympic though
Docking bridge 21:38
There it is!!!
Ben excellent work !! Can you tell me the the name of the mfg of tweezers you used during this build and others
They are my newest most favorite thing: Hozan PP-103. I have a few other models from the brand as well.
thank you
Sometimes there's not a lot to do out at sea so the crew polishes all the brass, paints, and does a lot of per-matinance.
Beautiful! Does the scale of the benches look too large, they seem to rise above the railing here...
No, they sit below the edge.
Awesome as always!

I just placed them where scale decks has them go.
Thanks!
Ben great work as always! Question, 1/350 titanic, you up to it and let me know how much? LOL!! but seriously great work on what you do.

No. It’s so close I’m not going to worry about it.

That is correct.
Ben, how did you anchor your mast rigging to the deck? I was thinking about using leftovers from the funnel eyelets if there are enough.
Through the rigging eyelets on the sides. The KA kit has all the PE for it.
The ones on the bull works in the well decks?
Yes
I think anything shiny would definitely have been kept shiny. No corrosion or patina would have been allowed on a ship of this type.

@@TheMidwestModelShop Weird. I thought this ship was supposed to be the height of luxury. No wonder it sank as soon as it hit an ice cube.
I'm just dying to see how this is going to be delivered in 1 piece. I'm so nervous
I worry when I have to move mine from one room to another and I'm not at this stage yet.never mind posting it
