    I've been reading the LSB for over a year. I truly enjoy it. I think it may take time to gain popularity but is here to stay.
    It's an excellent translation.

    Great bible! This is the edition I have. I have used the NASB for many years. LSB is now my go to bible☺️

    I really love mine. I purchased the large print with large margins and it’s a delight to read with that layout. And if you like to illustrate it there’s plenty of room to do your own illustrating. Good quality colored pencils work well, the paper is thick enough for that.

    Amazing. Putting the references on the inside is a good idea.

    Thank you Tim for another great unboxing! This layout makes so much sense to me! I love the verse by verse with inner column references, large print and high gsm paper. I am seriously considering this Bible! LOVE the blue color!

    I'll probably get the hardcover, but your excellent video sold me on this bible. I'm still using a NASB 77 in this family of translations. But, the LSB looks like the one that will finally replace my old NASB. I use the NKJV, KJV, ESV, RSV, and NRSV as well.

    I have the navy blue and it’s fantastic! Though bigger than I expected. Like really big but it so nice that I was okay with it.

    I really enjoyed your review on this! I decided to go with the same one in your video, less the thumb index. Excited to have that 40gsm, VBV 📖 and ICR👍

    I think I need this Bible! I didn’t know much about the LSB. Our Pastor mentioned he liked it.
    I’m very interested now! Thanks! 😊

    David Lee got a faux brown one. He has taken notes in his own LSB bible and says the 40 GSM paper is great for writing on. I love this blue. This ICR would complete my LSB collection. I have the 2-col. brown goatskin. I'm thinking the wide margin LSB I bought might be smaller than the ICR by a little bit. It's probably close to the Schuyler Quentel size with the 11 point font. Thanks for showing us this Bible!

    I’m looking forward to the LSB Compact coming later this year. Text block is supposed to be 4.06” X 6.19” and it’ll be 8.5 font. Should make for a perfect carry Bible.

    I purchased the LSB ICR blue goatskin but, honestly, I was not too impressed when comparing the goatskin to Cambridge, Schuyler, or even Holman. I have the CSB VBV in goatskin and even it feels softer and more supple than the LSB I bought. If I were to buy another leather Bible from 316 Publishing it would be in cowhide. I ended up just selling the blue goatskin and purchased another ICR in the hardcover since the LSB will be a secondary reference anyway. Thanks for the video review! God bless!

    The Inside Column Reference looks like a great typesetting. The edge-lined goatskin is at the top of my premium Bible list. But this cowhide, it looks so good for the price.

    Love the layout/look of the text in this version. Really a fan of the heavier weight paper, should reduce any bleed-through on notes or highlights. Thank for the thorough review.

    As a lover of the LSB, I cannot wait to purchase my own, BUT I think this is the only cross reference option that is available (I have to double check that) and I really really wish they had a CR edition that was in the Handy Size. I don't know what it is about large bibles, but I've gotten over them haha

      Same here, looking to purchase my first LSB and wishing there was a handy size reference edition. I wouldn’t hate losing a bit of margin space to add references and footnotes. Hopefully will see it in the future!

    the layout is similar to the mini esv reference, i wish they had one the same size as the esv inside column personal reference. if they could scale down the bible a bit with the font size maybe 10 or 9 it would be so good

    This LSB edition contains the Original Text. They already have a "Refined Text" with 60 changes to the text, plus a number of subheadings. Compare Mark 8v.29 at 10:05.

    Too many translations. Don’t get me wrong I understand the need to have more than 1 but there are so many translations. It’s just seems ways for different publishers to make more money

    • @vintagebowtieguy1436
      @vintagebowtieguy1436 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to agree although I don’t want to assign motive to any publishers. I love Bibles and I am so grateful for the wealth of translations and references we have for Bible study - but I do think it’s getting a little saturated. And every new translation is “the best” according to the publishers and their fandom. 😂 I’m not complaining but like you I’m a little hesitant of soooo many popping up over the last two decades.

    • @DesignInNature
      @DesignInNature ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I would normally agree. But this is not really a "New" translation. Steadfast Bibles simply bought from "Lockman" the rights to the NASB 1995', in order to preserve that version and avoid the constantly changing editions in modern Bibles. The NASB 2020 took a VERY weird direction for my taste, and having the '95 preserved for the next 50 years (as is the stated intention of Steadfast with the LSB) is greatly welcomed by me and many others who love their '95.
      The only differences you can expect are the use of God's name in the old testament and that some of the "alternate readings" from the NASB '95 translator's foot notes are being used directly in the text instead of as a clarifying foot note. Honestly, that's pretty much it.
      When Lockman announced they were moving on to the 2020, I immediately stocked up on 2 NASB '95s myself. In case my favorite format (Schuyler Quentel) becomes hard to find in the '95 edition in the future.
      With this LSB reference & notes edition, I got the synthetic leather cheaper version. I honestly wish I had waited and got this in the premium edge-lined goatskin instead of the two premium Schuylers last year, in order to support what Steadfast has done. But I can always get one in the next couple of years... when funds allow.

  • @WgB5

    The fake leather type is a much lower quality product., very apparent. All reviewers were sent high quality books. The text is 10 point with the notes at 8. I do not consider this to be large print. Made in Korea. It is a 2021 edition. it did not come in a box. There is minimal ghosting, which makes it easier to read.
    Sadly, I need larger print, my eyes aren't what they used to be.

  • @russedav5
    @russedav5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Legacy Standard is one of the few translations to get my "go to" verse, Romans 6:7 right, most (even the venerable KJV) mistranslating it as "freed" versus the correct "justified" for δικαιόωG1344. Ironically even the heretical JWs New World Translation gets it right ("acquitted or released or pardoned.") Sad when "heretical" groups get it right and "orthodox" don't, showing God's no respecter of persons.
