- Happy Monday! Let's kick the week off with a fun drink and some ASMR True Crime. In today's video, we're talking about Marie Lafarge. A woman from the 19th century who was one of the first people ever convicted with the help of forensic toxicology. After finding that her husband had been given poison, she faced prosecution and was found guilty of poisoning him. Another old, but fascinating story from history and I hope you like it!

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, which is a tingly sensation generally felt in the head and neck area. It is usually used for relaxation and to help people sleep.

Thank you so much, Chloe!! Hahaha that's because I've done it once before 😏 I recycled it (kind of) lol. It was done earlier this year, but in basically my louder, normal voice. I made that video private because I really didn't like it and figured a whispered version would be ok. Plus it gave me a couple of extra days to catch up on some stuff 🤗

I think it’s funny it’s called a comfort zone. Sometimes it’s not very comfortable, just familiar. It sounds like this unfamiliar territory your exploring is much more comfortable, so again, good for you! Not easy!

Leah if you are taking drink requests please try my favorite an Amaretto Sour! There are many ways you can do it (traditional you make it with an egg white) but for the simplified version (how I like them) is:
1 ½ ounces of Amaretto liqueur
1 ounce simple syrup
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice (or you could use sweet and sour mix)
I add a dash of orange juice
And garnish with an orange slice and one Maraschino cherry 🍒

@@LeahWhispersASMR it's an almond liquor! Amaretto Sours are the perfect blend of sweet and sour. You can always tweak the recipe to make it more sweet or more sour. I like my drinks sweet as well so I tend to add a bit more simple syrup to mine 😋

Well, I can't speak to what the physician was thinking when he ordered eggnog for cholera, I can tell you why my Dr suggested it to me. I have ulcers and I take certain medications that really hurt my stomach. My Dr told me to take my meds with eggnog or ½ and ½ or even heavy whipping cream (depending on what is available in my area) and to just have a glass of eggnog/½ & ½ if my stomach is hurting. I should add, my Dr is elderly.
I agree, sometimes, it is absolutely baffling how they failed to connect dots, be it between illness and murder, or how diseases were transmitted. I know they didn't have our technological advances, but they had eyes and deductive reasoning. Smh.
