Yes Leah, you pronounced Lancashire correctly. Anything with shire on the end, we tend to snip it rather than elongate. Hi Leah! I'm in Florida and I just bought a pound of butter at Aldi it was about $4. However if you buy some heavy whipping cream you can shake it(for a long time) or use a mixer and it will turn to butter. Bonus is the separation also makes buttermilk which can be used in baking like banana bread.
I've been meaning to try the shaking method for awhile now! It looks fun hehehe. But I just use a food processor! It's much easier on the arms lol 😅

hi leah! i’m currently binge watching all your recent videos to catch up and had to watch this one asap because i’m actually from Lancaster in Lancashire (which you did pronounce correctly!) We now have a pub in Lancaster called The Pendle Witch in remembrance of the tragic events that took place all those years ago! Wonderful as always. All those mentions of Alice Nutter took me straight to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's masterpiece `Good Omens`, a quick google turning up a tweet where Neil confirmed that the Pendle Witches were the source of Agnes Nutter's name. If you've not read it I cannot recommend it enough, one of the funniest books ever written and an absolutely fantastic story. The relatively recent Amazon/BBC TV adaptation isn't bad either.
I'm in New Zealand and our cheapest butter is $5.39nzd for 500g (about a pound). But if it's quality unsalted stuff it's closer to $8nzd. It's absolutely ridiculous considering we produce SO much milk here! Anywho, amazing video as always Leah! Sooo long and relaxing you're amazing!

OKAY so I wasn’t looking at my phone when you said “black pug” and so I heard “I have a familiar, his name is Dexter and he is a black bug.” So imagine my bafflement when you stated that after dinner he gets the zoomies 😅 so now I’m sitting here with an image in my head of you and your partner sitting at a dinner table with a black bug named dexter whom is is your familiar. I’m from Slovenia, 250g of butter is around 2,50 to 3,50€ depending on the brand. People here complain that everything is so expensive, and yes, the prices did increase a lot even here, but it’s still quite reasonable priced comparing our prices to other countries. But sadly the majority of Slovenian people just like to complain. They don’t realize that living somewhere else can be much more expensive than being at home.
Oh my gosh, those prices sound so nice lol. 🤣 If people around you complain, you can let them know from a Canadian that they have much better prices there haha.

@@LeahWhispersASMR No, I've never actually been to Lancaster (it's about a 40 mile drive from the Pendle area) and didn't know they had a castle till today. I definitely will be soon though. I love visiting medieval castles.
There's a good book called Mist Over Pendle by Robert Neill you might like. He took the known facts about the witch trials and used them to write a fictional novel set around the real villages in Pendle.
@@LeahWhispersASMR that giant date 1612 on the hillside in your thumbnail was actually there. Not sure what they made it from, but we looked over one day and there it was. Only for a week or so though.
It was from 2012 I believe! I think it was part of the 400 year anniversary of the trials, where people petitioned to have all of the people pardoned but it was denied which is so sad :(

A lot doesn't add up for me in this case. I mean, the confessions that were just volunteered without torture.....the little girl pointing out all the right people.......the woman saying she did cause the man's stroke or curse or whatever it was.....even when he didn't name her or accuse her. I have so many theories that go in so many directions. Like, what if we took away skepticism and took it at face value? What if we decided to just take what these old ladies said as their truth? Witchcraft is very real after all.......Wiccans and pagans and Satanists are everywhere these days. It's all the rage on tik tok. Also, they knew an awful lot about how to make clay voodoo dolls and what to do with them. That was the real deal directions. I've listened to this video 3 times to soak in everything. And there are details of things that are legit practices. So the whole thing is just a mystery to me. Then I'm thinking what would the motive be to confess so easily? Were they a family of genetically passed down legit witches? Were the matriarchs protecting the rest of their family line by just trying to take the blame? If these women weren't able to discuss a plan before they were arrested and questioned, then it's not likely that they were all just playing their parts like accomplices or something. Sounds like no one had time to get stories straight. So that begs the question of why was everyone admitting and detailing withccraft practices. Or maybe they were in fact a terrorist group against the king and this was the plan to cover up and buy time while they all gathered together in that house.....to blow up whoever and whatever. I have no idea what's going on here. But I don't think it's at all what anyone assumes it is. It's very curious and weird in every way.
