I live in Chambersburg! Shocking to hear Wilson College pop up. It’s a beautiful campus. We had our wedding reception there and now my son and most of the rest of the high school go there for prom, homecoming and senior pictures. Also the whisper in this one is so lovely.

This is so sad! I don't believe this woman ran away to start a new life. By all accounts she seemed to be a devoted mother and wife and I don't think she ran away to work a 9 to 5 job. I think something happened to her be it medical malpractice causing altered mental state leading to an accident or something even more sinister. RIP and I hope the family gets some answers some day.
Yes, I'm leaning towards that as well. Many people think she may have been disoriented from a medical procedure and fallen into a construction pit. Not necessarily from blood loss but just dazed from shock. I hope the family gets answers one day too. Its still possible!
What is it with people? If you saw someone walking around looking dazed with blood running down her leg, would you not ask if she's okay? People like that disgust me. When I was a kid, I remember a guy having an epileptic seizure and had fallen and cracked his head open, blood was pouring everywhere. I was too young to do anything but my Mum jumped in and actually held the back of his head closed to stop the flow of blood, you wouldn't believe the amount of people that just stood and watched, didn't call for an ambulance or just walked around and ignored it
My opinion: Unable to cope with an unwanted pregnancy and desiring a different life, she planned her escape and researched how to effectively disappear. When her husband was away, she performed the abortion on herself, disposed of the evidence, and hitch hiked or had someone pick her up. She may have even had an affair, knew the baby wasn't her husband's, and planned her escape with her lover. He could have picked her up at a predetermined location and they disappeared together.
From what I remember they didn't find anything! So either she disposed of it somehow in secret or perhaps somebody took whatever it was she saw. I believe it was bloody towels, but that's just guessing from what the neighbor said. Such a sad mystery as to what really happened :(
