Something about "The Nile runs red tonight" has made me really want to play this damn game already. It's a really fucking badass adaptation of the crimson rivers refrain.

I don't remember the last time I've been this excited for an Assassin's Creed game--it looks like they've really captured the vibrancy, life, color, and beauty of ancient Egypt. When most people think about it, they imagine nothing but scorching desert and shades of tan and brown--not so! There was a reason that Egypt was was the cultural center of the world for so long, and there was a reason that it was so fiercely fought over through the ages.

Ye, but its not an AC game, i can see an assassin, i can jump from a tower, but its another game with the label of Assassins Creed on it. The AC saga died long time ago, this is a good game, but is not assassins creed like.

I've loved Egyptian myths, legends and history since I was in elementary school. I was so happy to actually see and explore the pyramid and Egypt (albeit virtually). I was in awe my entire playthrough. I'm on my third playthrough already while juggling Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

I gave up on the games, but I am always here these songs! Another hole in one, Gav! The flute really adds an ethereal atmosphere to the song, which makes sense, because this game is apparently showing how the "War through the Ages" began.

Take into consideration that Ubisoft threw away a perfectly good Origins story to the Assassin's Creed series with Adam and Eve. I sincerely doubt this will be worth the money. But the song is fantastic regardless :)

As an archaeologist (Albeit not an Egyptologist) and an ancient history nerd I'm pretty psyched about this AC. I do think it would've been cool if it was set in far ancient Egypt, like, Bronze Age Egypt but Rome works too!

I haven't played it personally yet but I watched Hannah of the Yogscast stream parts of it. From the looks of it it looks awesome! I know that the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology at the University of Memphis not only helped Ubisoft make the environment accurate but also gave the game it's blessing. From the looks of it the game's world is extraordinarily accurate to what we know of life and architecture in Cleopatra's Egypt (Although probably not the plot so much because, ya know, semi-magical assassins lol). My personal focus is on the Levant (Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and so on) so a little further east but what I've seen of the game world in AC looks pretty similar to how I imagine most of the world that fell under Egypt's sphere of influence, which included Herodian Judea. The 'Discovery Mode', where you can just wander the world without quests or combat or health is a great touch too and it kind of gives me hope that video games could be used to help people visualize the world thousands of years ago, it'd be a great tool for both archaeologists and educators in general. So yeah, just from what I've seen it gets my seal of approval at least, haha.

I really wish this game had been more historically accurate, but I love your song. You've made some beautiful ancient metaphors (the Nile flowing like a wound into the sea-- there is a story and a festival that involves this-- where Set, the lord of the desert, is struck in the heart with Heru's lance, releasing Set's wife, the river as Nebet Het, from her home) unintentionally have the meaning they were intended to even against other inaccuracies. Thank you.
