LYRICS:
My Revolution Gavin Dunne 2014
Voices joined will never tire
Brothers all are we
Streets they run with blood and fire
The price of liberty
My revolution carries me
In a moment lost in time
My revolution sets me free
I will flow across the lines
Bring out the brother in me
I’m searching for unity
Everything is changing
Inside of me
The city’s under my feet
The ruins of the elite
Everything is changing
Inside of me
Secret truths are buried deep
Two fathers on two sides
With every lunge and leap
Closer to my kind
My revolution carries me
In a moment lost in time
My revolution sets me free
I will flow across the lines
Bring out the brother in me
I’m searching for unity
Everything is changing
Inside of me
The city’s under my feet
The ruins of the elite
Everything is changing
Inside of me
Révolution dans les rues (Revolution in the streets)
Je vois le chaos en dessous (I watch the chaos down below)
(I search for you, where are you?)
My revolution carries me...
My revolution sets me free...
My revolution carries me
In a moment lost in time
My revolution sets me free
I will flow across the lines
Bring out the brother in me
I’m searching for unity
Everything is changing
Inside of me
The city’s under my feet
The ruins of the elite
Everything is changing
Inside of me
My revolution...
It’s gonna carry me
Carry me
Révolution dans les rues (Revolution in the streets)
Je vois le chaos en dessous (I watch the chaos down below)
(I search for you, where are you?)
French speaking person here - it's perfect. I love it. This song is amazing. The french parts send chills down my back. The tune is amazing, and the singing is hypnotic. It cheers me up in a way that very, very few can. Thanks Gav.
Thank you very much :)
Me too - and I don't speak French! Very nicely done.
miracleofsound I'm french and what you said in my language is amazing. Your accent is just wonderful !
Merci, from France !
Hiruko Hidero c'est trop chou ^^
You win
miracleofsound By the way... you didn't pronounce the French parts correctly... for some of the lines, the meaning of what you said was changed because of bad pronunciation... So I could only get the real meaning thanks to the subtitles. (French is my first language).
miracleofsound For example... For the "où es-tu?" part... Well... normally, it means "Where are you?"... but what you instead said was... "Where is everything?"... That's a quite different meaning. Funny thing is... you only made that pronunciation mistake the first time you said the line... but you said it correctly toward the end of the video... You could've done better than that...
miracleofsound Same thing for "en dessous"... you pronounced it as "en dessus" which actually means the opposite of what you were trying to say.
sancturillore it would depend entirely on what kind of french he's familiar with. i'm very used to canadian french (quebec and acadien specifically) and heard nothing wrong with anything he said, but if you're going by proper, parisian french, then yes, i suppose it would sound kind of off
kamenkewl I'm aslo from Quebec. He pronounced the first "où es-tu?" as "où es-tout?" And I already explained for the "en dessous" part.
This guy is so talented. Three years later and I'm still listening to this, as well as "Wake the white wolf". This guy has a very gifted talent in my opinion, with singing, instrumental, as well as editing skills when it comes to videos. They match perfectly with the pace of the music. Amazing work.
I fully agree.
ARE WE PISSIN OUR PANTS YET??????
You can breath you can blink you can even cry heck your all gonna be doing that (bonk)
Gavin is amazing
And more importantly, he has an impressive understanding of many different music types and styles.
Reasons why i loved Arno:
1. He is a Assassin
2. He helped out the Revolution while helping the Assassin's
3. After being kicked out of the Brotherhood he still killed the grandmaster.
4. He had a sense of justice
5. Arno was doing his own thing despite being a assassin. He helped out innocents and knew he was still a human. Not a thing drove to kill certain people.
AMEN!! I wish Ubisoft would continue his story he truly has one of the best stories.
Look, I like Jacob as a character and I like Syndicate as much as the next guy, probably more. But where Arno had at least hints of Depth (nothing extraordinary, but at least his character development was slightly interesting), Jacob was just this random "Young Hothead wants to kick ass" trope, that has been done a thousand times before, and most of the time better than in Syndicate. I legitimately cant remember anything about Jacob, except that his Father (?) is dead and that he has a hot sister (who btw. is another standard trope).
Wow, considering that your reply is a year old, you probably will never read this, but I felt like writing it anyway.
good day
2 years*
Arno-who. He was forgettable.
Compare him to Ezio (MINOR SPOILERS):
1. Lost brothers and father
2. Protected sister and mother on the way to safe place
3. Restored that place
4. Helped Assassins and even saved one of them even b4 he became Assassin
5. Befriended DaVinci
6. Fought POPE when he had superpowers
7. Romanced with Catarina Sforza
8. When they destroyed his town he helped people to escape and traveled to enemies city
9. Restored Brotherhood there
10. Kidnapped damn tank
11. Broke into Vaticano
12. when he was old traveled far away to help even more people.
I vividly remember when this song came out, it's been 8-9 years but for some reason it feels like it's been a lifetime.
Learning french and it's satisfying as hell to understand the french lines
***** also just learning French is the best thing ever like I'm understanding more and more and it's just SO COOL, I never felt like this when learning English strangely enough
+AwsomenessRain yeah, learning a language and then actually using it is pretty nice xD
i am considering some languages to learn here they are Swedish,German,Latin, and because of this song French.
+kabob 007 Latin is easier if you are familiar with French , Spanish , Portuguese and Romanian , because all those have Latin as some kind of ,, parent language,,
If you learn Swedish then you could also really easily learn Danish and Norwegian as well, since they are so very similar. As a Swedish person I can read and understand the other languages with almost no problem, other than a few words here and there
Just something I noticed.
Assassins Creed Syndicate: "Revolution holds us bound."
Assassins Creed Unity: "My revolution sets me free."
Just thought that was kinda interesting. Great song, by the way. Love it.
Well they are talking about two different revolutions. The one on Syndicate is the industrial revolution which is believed to hold many in a tight grip of near slavery. Whereas the one in Unity was an ideological revolution, changing the ways of People's view of themselfs and others.
That's just my Thought though.
+Sophia Lind Pretty cool!
All the AC songs mention Rivers of blood in one way or another
Your thoughts are correct sir.
Sophia Lind kkk
This should be an official trailer for the game.
True That
Yes
the trailer would be better that the actual game
Might have bought the game then, glade they didn't.
Should just pay Gav shit tons of money for making something better in probably a few days/weeks then Ubisoft could make in a year.
@Mr Jenkins I played the Joint way back in 2015 true that the Buggs ruined some of it but
It felt kind of lively and historically accurate the city is and how crowds look like was and thats what i respect about ubisoft
This game still looks stunning even today with its Laggy and buggs issues all fixed, with maxed out graphics it can compete in games in 2017-2020
A revolutionary to the end. The savior of france even after the brotherhood cast him out. Brothers and sisters shall we to make the mistake of casting one like Arno out? Or shall we strive to be like him and gather every man and woman with fire in their hearts into a brotherhood to fight for the innoccent?
Love this song. It holds up entirely separate from being about the game, which makes it so much better. There isn't enough music today made about such important historical revolutions like the French Revolution . . .
I don't think there are any other modern songs relating to the french revolution
Eh, there's probably some underground metal band somewhere who's niche is songs about the French Revoltuion, I've heard of bands with weirder niches haha xD
Dan Bull did one (also covering Unity, but y'know). He and MoS are the only two video game singers I really pay attention to.
After listening to this at least 40 times in two weeks, I am still wondering why game-making companies don't ask you to make soundtracks for them. Your game-themed songs are just too perfect.

I'm French and tonight is a special night where France was able to remain unified against the rise of fascism. At the same time TH-cam recommends me this song I love so much! Chance? Maybe not :D
I came back here because of the cérémonie d'ouverture of the jo Paris2024 made me so nostalgic of the game and this song TT
It is tradition for me to polish my shoes while listening to the Assassin's Creed soundtracks by Miracle of Sound, makes the task more enjoyable experience
2024… almost 10 years. I was a child when I was listening this masterpiece.
Despite it being almost 10 years all I can say I am always amazed by Gav's music
Such a bittersweet nostalgic atmosphere, I keep returning here and it never fails to bring me back to my University years
"The streets they run with blood and fire, the price of liberty". Truer now more than ever I guess. Loved the song gav
@@merrick7795 And yet it's even more applicable now...
@@BaronSengir1008 So much more now that the French are in the streets fighting tyranny once more.

I'm learning French, and the French verse gives me chills 🇫🇷🇫🇷
The Piano is a lovely, sophisticated, instrument; French is a delicate, yet beautiful language. And the words that I have just spoken, are portrayed brilliantly in this piece of art, known only as a great gift to humanity: Music. Your music in particular is beautiful, with lovely singing, amazing vocals, splendid instrumentals and of course, the poetic lyrics that can only be created by people who truly understand music. My hat's off to you, Gavin, for you have once again impressed me with this wondrous masterpiece. Keep on going, we're with you every step of the way :)
Thank you very much :) That was very nice to read!
Billy Pig. Anyone else notice these names?
Billy Pig You could always, make up something better sounding than Billy Pig? Maybe, SonrousAel. or The Revlair
Billy Pig Well, I got the impression you were from deep south.
100th like
the question we have been asking in all the assassins creed games
HOW DOES THE HOOD NOT FALL DOWN WILE THEY ARE RUNNING?!?!?!
Right?!
@@randompersonontheinternet6762 I would guess you run a strap along the brow line.
That is the true secret of the Creed
As someone who has never played an Assassin’s Creed game and very probably has no idea what I’m talking about, my guess would be that they pin the hood to their hair. That’s how people historically kept coifs and bonnets and whatnot from falling off. Alternately, if the hood is extremely structured (interlined with stiff material) and the pieces are constructed in such a way that the panels on the hood extend to the back and shoulders without seams, I *think* the hood would be disinclined to fall down on its own. That last option is pure supposition based on my limited understanding of tailoring and physics.
@@bigfungus6988 -- Thank you. That may be my favorite compliment I've ever received from a stranger.
It wasn't until recently that I figured out how this (and by extension "London Town") connect with "Blood of the Creed" and "Beneath the Black Flag" (besides the fact they're about different games in the same series)..."Beneath the Black Flag" hints back to "Blood of the Creed" with the line 'Justice runs in Crimson Rivers' and "London Town" has the line 'Cry Revolution, smoke and steam!' Sung in the tune of 'My Revolution carries me' in this song. However, hidden in the French of this song is the line 'La justice est une riviere rouge' or 'Justice is a red river', alluding to Justice running 'in Crimson Rivers'
I do so love how songs from the same series tend to have hints to the others, keep up the good work, you Miracle of Sound you!
This has probably got to be my favourite Assassin's Creed song you've done. They keep getting better!
Awesome :) It's my fave too !

This is the best song ever, I love it soooo much, Gav!
And I love how you used the piano, it's always nice to hear some piano in a great song in my opinion.
I expected you to do great, but damn....you exceeded all my expectations.
You never cease to amaze me and your music always cheers me up.
Keep it up, Gav! Love from Germany.
Thank you :) I love piano, always happy to have an excuse to use it!
*Best song ever SO FAR!
miracleofsound Beatiful song!
miracleofsound Oh my god thank you for responding, this is so amazing of you.
I love how you stay in touch with your fans, it's a clear sign that you care for us and I think it's simply awesome of you.
Also, I have a question. Is it intentional that the first few notes played by the piano are the same as in Comptine d'Un Autre Été but simply sped up?
Maybe it's just me imagining things, but it really sounds like it and Comptine d'Un Autre Été is pretty much the most popular french piano piece there is, if you ask me.
Azrael _ I really enjoy Jann Tiersen's work and Amelie is my favorite movie so his style probably creeps into my work, yeah. But I don't really hear a huge similarity between the two pieces on purely musical terms
This is the best song you have ever made gav! i keep hearing it again and again......
Glad you enjoy it :)

Down a job, seeing ghosts, in debt, and this song still manages to put a smile on my face. Gavin, you are one glorious, talented bastard, and I love ya for it.
All these years later, and listening to this still sends a chill down my spine.
Every time i hear this song I can't wait to play this... Also, beautiful song and it really gives you a great feeling when hearing.
Can't decide if I'm more in love with that amazing piano intro or french part. Guess I'll just say I love whole song

As much as people hate this game, I love it for the historical aspects. I’m a sucker for revolutions and uprisings in history. It’s just so damn fascinating
Most of the people who returned to the game after the bugs were fixed loved it. It's just a shame Ubisoft had to ruin people's first impression of the game by rushing it's launch.

Choeurs criant à l'unisson
Jamais épuisés
Les rues mises à feu, à sang
Très chère liberté

The more I listen this particular song, the more I wanted to fully translated it in French. Not literally, as it has already be well done in the comments, but in a version with rhythm and rhymes. Here it is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Literally in English:
/ mark two meaning for the same word
(/) mark a different word sounding the same
Chorus(/hearts) shouting in unison
Never tired/depleted
The streets put to fire and blood
Very cherished/expensive liberty
My revolution open the path(/voice)
Through lost times
My revolution with you
I leap into the unknown
(Ok, this verse is really far from the original. However I think it stays true to the spirit of the song and the game)
A hand held out, determined
I'm in quest for unity
All the references/landmarks switch/tilt/fall_over
Deep inside me
The city is under my feet
The established order, decimated
All the references/landmarks switch/tilt/fall_over
Deep inside me
Some secrets are well hidden
Loved fathers, sworn enemies
Every leap, every time further
Brings me closer to my kind
My revolution open the path(/voice)...
My revolution with you...
My revolution open the path(/voice)
Oh, it open the path(/voice)
Open my path(/voice)
-------------------------------------------------------------

I am German. That means I have to hate you, but I wish the song was completely in French. The part where he sings in French sounds so incredibly nice. I don't understand what you translated, but it sounds good. So thank you. Greetings from the eternal enemy

This is great advertising. So far, Gavin has single-handedly made me want to buy Assasin's Creed Unity and Black Flag, Shadow of Mordor, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Just have these songs instead of trailers and my money will just propel itself from my wallet.
After listening to My Odyssey, I just noticed the same lyrics in this song, along with the flow. Well done! It works great for Assassin Creed games.
Still here, nearly two years later. Great song!

The four first lines stick to me. Especially with the words “brothers” and “liberty”. In France we have a motto: “Liberty, equality, fraternity”. I like to think that him mentioning two out of three words from our motto, leaving out equality, is a nice call back that there was no equality between social classes in 1789 France.
Considering he makes all of his songs poetic like that I wouldn't be surprised if this was exactly what he did
Unity truly was something else man
Although I'm not a French speaker the french parts are very soothing
Think this was one of the first songs by Miracle of Sound I heard and subsequentially got me hooked. Still holds up strong today. Thank you so much for all these great tunes that have brightened my life for so many years already.
I would state, emphatically, that this song is far better than the game deserves. As ever, Gav, you're a musical genius.

I like this song more than the game, and it entertains me for longer than the game did.
+Paarthurnax Friend of Man Well, the game was kind of a broken, unplayable disaster, so that's not surprising.

+adam paton how about u create it?
Unity is actually a very good game. So what, it had bugs when it was first released, but what game doesn’t? I think Arno is a strong character, and I love his relationship with Elise. The people who haven’t taken the time to play the game are the people hating on it.
BEST ASSASSINS CREED !!!
Excuse my french but im just starting to learn.
+TheSkipRow Gaming Ur french is good. but "games" is "jeux" in the french language
Bloody Regina ok then thanks.
First you speak Dragon in a song, now French. Respect!!!
he's pretty cool
ha ha, right you are. he is almost as good as Peter Hollens IMO
If it's just possible in the game, I'll change the dialog into French and the subs in English :3
It's always bugged me how in movies, and games, Germans/French/etc. don't speak their own language, but English. Would it *really* have been so costly to have them learn just a few phrases...?
Praise to Gav for using French!
I have a trick for getting around this logic mistake. I just imagine that the character you're playing can speak that language, so they just translate it in their "mind."
Barrett Wynn
If that works for you, good. I prefer not to cheat myself.
It usually bothers me too, but in one of the Assassin's Creed games they explained how the Animus has translation software so they actually have a reason for this.
I don't we it as cheating, I see it as making sense of a situation that you can't really make sense of.
It didn't bother me that Ezio spoke English, because at least it was in an Italian accent so it still felt authentic. Here they all just talk in British accents so I think I'll change the dialogue to French with English subs too
That shot of Notre Dame now.... *legit chills*
I love your songs and their not just regular TH-cam songs their legit and they help me get through the day please keep making more thank you:)
What I probably love most of this song, and many of Gavin's other songs is that he can make a really good shift between loud and soft without changing it's intensity, even when all of the instruments are taken away and it seems like just his voice. Absolutely amazing man, absolutely brilliant.
Pretty good French, hail to the homeland =D
Swaggy Cake Baguette.
Swaggy Cake -pretty nice try! But I think that'd be "My homeland tips its hat to you =D"
I love this song soooooooo much
How is it that your music is better then the games. Seriously i listened to this song and London Town thousand of times and when i bought both games i refounded them 10 mints later. You are still an amazing creator.
I get that unity is glitchy but why did you return syndicate?
Damn this france laguage verse is great
I think that invert of being "Everything is changing inside of me" it should be "Everything is changing around me", but the song is pretty good
Matheus C The song is about Arno's personal internal changes as influenced by the outside revolution. Hence 'My Revolution'
Well, make sense.

Sounds like puberty
Listening to this song after 7 years. I bought Ac Unity along with Ps4 back then. Through this 7 years I finished all the Ac games including Ac Bloodlines and Ac chronicles 😁
8 years later and the music video is still a masterpiece
Well...
SOMETHING good came out of AC: Unity.
Keep rocking, gav
i actually like AC unity
***** Would've been, but the insane amount of bugs means that not many people are willing to brave it
Akamatsu_Ace Unity actually runs pretty good now just got it and I have no problems
Akamatsu_Ace what about the glitch that removes the npc's faces
Akamatsu_Ace to me AC unity was a good game, yes the glitches did get me killed sometimes but the story was cool
2022 I’m still here with you Arno
your music is no joke 100 times better than people winning grammies today. keep making more!
I’ve only just started listening to these like two weeks ago and this dudes range is amazing
This song is absolutely fantastic, congratulations!
2:13 If you want the button for the amazing French bit
"My revolution carries me, my revolution sets me free", Unity - "Winds and the ocean carries me, winds and the ocean sets me free", Odyssey - "Wind and the waves will carry me, wind and the waves will set me free", Valhalla.
What a great progress!
Your accent for the French-speaking parts is really cute! :)
This song is one of my favorite. Really nice music! ^^
Am I the only person that didn't hate Unity?
+Nova Light I liked the game, but hated how it ran on my PC
Gaming Cu Vlad Yeah, I heard the game had some uh......violent requirements. That, and it was so bad at launch, that it didn't even run well on people who over-did their computers
+Nova Light I loved it, I thought it was the best one besides Ezio's saga (yes I know its 3 games) I loved Unity because of the Co-op and story.
ur not alone
Nova Light haven't played it but I so want to dispite what people say about it. it's those that say it's good like u that make me want too
This song was by far the best thing to come out of Unity
I played unity recently
Its pretty damn good
I am actually extremely curious Gav. What started you into making Miracle of Sound? What is your favorite song of yours? Favorite game series or stand alone game?
My favorite games series are Fallout, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed, I also love Half Life 2, a bunch of the Zelda games... gosh too many to name them all! My overall favorite game ever though is definitely Fallout 3 :) Exploring the wasteland always makes me feel calm & content!
miracleofsound You... I got a response! Yay! But do the other two questions have an answer that you can share? If nor I understand. I'm glad you like Fallout 3 too
Ren Kuroya Too many fave songs to name, but I love Amnesia, Kickback, this song, Hard Cash, The Best Of Us etc... MOS started as a fun project and evolved into my job :)
miracleofsound
You have an awesome job :3
lunavixen015 I know :) I work very hard to keep it!
Most of your songs are wonderful and this song is one of this.
PS: I love when you speak French :)
Gomez, not in public. But seriously, great song! You always blow me away with your melodies and one of a kind touches to each song.
Ved Walker You rang?

You make a masterpiece every time you release a new song. I love the continuity between your AC songs, and your lyrics are always spot-on. Thank you for another fantastic song! Keep being amazing!
I am fan of your songs

I'm french and respect dude French is difficult even for the french guys X) just when you say "en-dessous" in french we are undertsanding the opposite "en dessus". BUT very awsome music X) .
This song makes much more sense when you know some French.
I will never get tired of listening to this. A true masterpiece
Well looks like I've found myself a new favourite song!
Is this still your favorite song or have you found a new one?
This song makes me want to learn about the french revolution!
"Like Saturn, the Revolution devours its children".
The French Revolution was an interesting time. It started out cool but then devolved into slaughter. I'm not saying that the nobles didn't have it coming though.
I haven't played the game but the song is great.
