His name is lost, but in Legend and Myth he is The Miracle of Sound.
There is an old tale of a man who was so skilled in music, that women swooned, he was known from Greece to Egypt and beyond, he was known for singing the tales of Alexios and Kassandra, the grandchildren of Leonidas of Sparta, and making many other songs on heroes of old, he was thought to be a child of Apollo aswell.

"Crimson are the rivers" is a reference to almost all other AC songs.
And the last few lines with "Winds of the ocean" us a callback to "My Revolution," the AC Unity song.
And I think "Take a leap of faith" may be a reference to the Origins song "Hallowed Land", but it may just be a reference to AC in general.

At first I was absolutely blown away by the rousing and powerful vocals in the chorus. Then came the callbacks to Shadows in the Moonlight (shores of gold) and My Revolution (kinda obvious). Did I ever mention that My Revolution is one of my favorite songs by anyone, ever? This whole song put a huge grin on my face. You've outdone yourself, Gav (and Karliene!)

Always look forward to your AC songs. With all of the references, despite this being set before the Creed was formed, it makes Odyssey feel like the *most* AC game/song of them all. Really impressed by this, Gav!
Also, loving the fact you and Karliene are singing simultaneously rather than alternating verses on this one, as if both Kassandra and Alexios are singing together. Kind of makes me wish you could do some more Mass Effect songs but dueting with a female singer signifying both BroShep and FemShep.

Every time a new Assassin's Creed is announced, it's always your new song that I look forward to the most.
When I finished the game I listened to the song again and realizing that my odyssey was actually over, it brought tears of joy and sadness to my eyes. Beautiful song to a fantastic game that sucked me into its world effortlessly. And the song captures the game's feel absoutely perfectly! Thank you!
Dude, holy shit. I haven't been this blown away by a Miracle of Sound song on the first listen in a long while now. I don't know if it was the way you mixed Karliene's vocals with yours, or the quality of the instrumentals, or the deftly woven callbacks to the rest of the AC series of songs, but something about this song is just FIRE. I love it, well done.

Even when I don't love the game I can come to Miracle of Sound and love his videos. I do love the common threads through all of your AC videos, but this song is something quite exceptional.

I like the direction the assassins creed franchise is headed to. What I like most about your songs is that they all intertwine. All the Dark Souls songs FEEL similar. All of the AC songs have a similar vibe, yet are so different. It is something I absolutely love about your work. Each of the songs has meaning and captures the tone and narrative of the respective games perfectly. On top of that you have these interconnecting sequences. It is a real pleasure to listen to both you and Karliene. Similarly to Alexios and Kassandra you both contradict yet intertwine with your vocals. It is a perfect representation of what this game is supposed to be. And I love that.

And the callbacks from "Shadows in the Moonlight" and "My Revolution" gave me goosebumps. And I can never forget your "Crimson Rivers" reference in almost every Assassin's Creed song. Moreover, you and Karliene singing simultaneously instead of alternative verses makes it even more fabulous, as if Alexios and Kassandra are singing together. Plus "Justice is in my hands" denoting player choice plus "Out upon a world so wide" referencing a really massive open world plus "On the twist of the road" plus many many more things are just mind blowing. As the song was playing I listened intently for the expected musical references to the other AC songs.
I swear, my smile grew ever wider with each one. Not keen on just delivering what's expected, the references were so creatively woven into the song it's remarkable.

Odyssey might be my new favourite Assassin's Creed game.
I loved it! What an epic adventure it was :)
I'm kinda torn. The gamer in me loved it. But the classics student in me went through the whole game going "that's wrong, this is wrong and oh God that's really wrong." For instance the Ancient Greeks were deeply and unpleasantly misogynistic. They would never have taken Kassandra seriously. I'm not saying that having the option to play as a female protagonist is in any way, merely that it should have been handled better.

Women in most ciy states were essentially the property of their oikos and were valued pretty much exclusivly for they ability to produce children. The fact that their mythology describes women as being created by the gods as a punishment for men really tells you all you need to know about their attitudes towards women.
They were the best of a bad bunch sure but that doesn't mean much. Spartan women might have enjoyed the right to own land but Sparta really doubled down on the "a women's purpose is to breed" rhetoric. because they need to keep the number of Sparta citizens up.@the fighting liberal
Political influence? Sure. Actual positions in government? No. And that political influence was limited to a handful of very wealthy Spartan women who essential loaned money to the diarchy. As for female soldiers you're going to need to produce a source backing that claim because that is never mentioned in Herodotus, Thuycidides or Xenophon, who are our primary sources from that period.@the fighting liberal

This is one of my all-time favorite MoS songs that I obsessively come back to. Something about it just captures the feeling of adventure and mystery that made me love the Greek Myths growing up. Still very well done!

This song really does this game justice. I love this song I love odyssey. I know it was a typical assassin's creed with assassin's vs templars or order of the ancients but I just love this game so much and it will always be my favourite assassin's creed
One thing I've always loved about your songs is the way they tell a story across a franchise, with constant callbacks to previous ones. It makes it really rewarding to listen to your entire oeuvre.
This s my favourite of your AC songs. Like, it took me a while to warm up to all of the other ones but I listened to this and by the end I was just singing along. It also makes me actually want to play AC Odyssey despite my reservations. Well done!
Another fantastic job. I hadn't been very invested in AC in a few years but the last two sure have been changing things up to make them more appealing, even if they have made the micro more intrusive. The repeated use/allusion of "justice runs in crimson rivers" is what's coolest about these AC songs, in my opinion.

What is thematically next for our main franchise?' - 'Well, we now finished the 19th century from a European perspective, and so far we have pretty consistently portrayed uprisings against the very upper class as ultimately positive. And that one Syndicate trailer really suggested we like labour organisation.' - What are you trying to say?' - ...well, logically, our next main installment would be an assassin fighting against the Tsar on behalf of Lenin and...' - 'Okay, no, all our main games take place in antiquity now.'

I always love your Assassin's Creed songs and the whole system of callbacks and references between them, but this one is on another level! The energy of the vocals is a huge part of it. The harmonies work so well, and lines like "out upon a world so wide" sound so big and triumphant it's hard not to get swept up in the excitement. Awesome work all around!

@@twistedblast5253 Thanks for the warning mate. From what I read so far, it looks like we have different options on what "grind" is, but I'll see it when I get it. And I'm deffinitely not getting it for full price, Ubisoft did not won their trust back yet.
