A crashing Blender is the last thing we need. Trust me, I know. Loom is a free add-on made by P2OR that is incredibly useful for rendering and moreover, it can decrease your Blender render crashes drastically!
Loom gives you an easy and straightforward way to use command-line rendering. Something that uses fewer resources, and gives you some information about what's going on during the render and cab even give some information on what causes render failures. The best part is, IF your render is still too hard for your computer, it will exit the command-prompt render, but not crash your entire Blender scene.
