I had a JLC MUT with no second hand and really enjoyed the novelty of the look. But the craftsmanship and finishing on that watch was on another level to virtually all watches bar the very top tier.

I don’t mind the lack of a second hand. You can always put the watch up your ear to hear it beating, but I would love to see a display back so I could also see it run. I’ll be honest, if I was in the market for a watch with these aesthetics, I’d be more drawn to the Hamilton Murph series or some of Hamilton’s heritage pilot watches with rotating bezels.
From a watch makers perspective is there a reason, apart from design choice, why a seconds hand would be omitted? It would be a deal breaker for me, I'll take the Hamilton Murph.
Considering they are using a movement designed to have a second hand, it doesn't . You may get a little improved run time but I it this is all down to design this time Sir
I think it is fair to say it is interesting that they left out the second hand. But for me it is a dealbreaker because you need a second hand to set the time properly
I do have a Sinn without the second hand the EZM1 model and setting it isn't so bad as the minute hand is so fine you can easily place it dead on the minute maker
It took me a while to think about it. I did consider different scenarios, outfits, sex appeal, and I came to the same conclusion; The missing second hand it's just one of the pieces that pulls the blend tarp over. In my eyes, this piece would bored even an accountant after 8 hours of tax return jobs. He would look at it and he would be sad he did. I cannot imagine someone buying this watch.

I do have a Sinn EZM1 which has a centre chrono so it doesn't have a second hand as such, JLC are very well finished it has to be said

Thats a fair point and a shame I didn't have both in at the same time to compare to each other
I've owned one of their pens for about twenty years and the quality is superb. I would miss a date window more than the second hand.
Very nice Garry they do make beautiful pens but wouldn't be any good for me as I'm always loosing them :)

Looks very similar to the newer Hamilton Murph (apart from the second hand 😂) but the Hamilton is cooler
