@david. You’re right, and it’s bonkers b/c MB leather goods are 2nd to none. To me, MB deserves to be recognized much more for their leather than their pens.
I have the same heritage model as you. I'm certain it is the SW200 movement. I also have an Oris with a SW200 base and when winding this one day I too had a strange issue, in that the crown seemed to grind then lock as I wound it. I thought it had broken but long story short it corrected itself. I think I'd wound it too fast. The size of the crown can affect how positive the wind motion is and the big crown inspires a solid wind! Since it happened I've been careful not to wind too speedily and I've had no further issues. The Monblanc is a seriously good looking watch.
I have the same heritage salmon dial watch. Owned it for over two years, no issues so far. I love Montblanc watches and I bought like 5 of them over the past 15 years. I own Patek, a bunch of Rolex watches, Breguet, a Vacheron Constantin, a bunch of Omegas, Panerai, Hamilton, G- Shock, Seiko, Grand Seiko, a couple of Longines, a few Cartier watches, yet I love Montblanc for the masculine looks of their watches and the quality of their straps and dials. I can’t say much about the movements since most of them are based on Sellita movements. Of course Breguet and Cartier are superior in terms of design, but for what you get for the money, I recommend Montblanc any day of the week. Of course their pens and cufflinks as well as some leather goods are great. Great content as usual Tony!
Hey Tony, hope all is well and your back is getting better. I really like the zero oxygen one you have and they do a great moonphase watch. However they do a lot of watches that I'm not keen on, but I suppose everyone's taste is different. Still, I do rate Montblanc as a decent watchmaker and I'd definitely consider buying one in future....
Hey man! Thanks for asking about my back. I’m having issues again, so I’m going to have 1 last epidural and then surgery. I think Montblanc do make a nice Moonphase watch. I considered buying one a while ago. I just need one more Rolex and one more Zenith first!! 😂😂🤙🤙
Seriously nice looking watches. You would think that since you sent in a fairly new watch for Service, they would take the time and make sure it was right before sending it back. Your experience alone makes me apprehensive about buying watches from them. Take care Tony and hopefully everything’s good to go for your Nashville trip.
Thanks man! I wouldn’t let my one experience hinder you if you decided to purchase one. Although, I would be apprehensive myself if I heard it from someone else. So, I get it. Getting ready for the trip! Should be fun. Plus, I will have a special “rockstar” celebrity guest on my channel. 🤙🤙
All good man! I’m not bothered by it too much. The 84’ looked great, but if I were to go with that look, I would get an 86’. I had a 94’ many years ago, and it was fun to drive, but that also had its issues. 😊🎃🎃🤙🤙
Hello, Tony. We love your channel, and very insightful watch reviews. I have always been a Rolex fuy myself, but thought to venture outside the box and perhaps try the Mont Blanc options. Yes, an understated design style, which sometime Patek Phillipe sometimes has as well. I have been using the Mont Blanc Legend cologne regularly for almost 10 years now, and it may be interesting to wear it together with the watch with the same namesake. Thanks for posting this review. ~ Dr. Sanjay Kumar
Yeah, I don't doubt they make good watches. But I think that most of their watches look a little generic. Almost like Oris or Longines. But not as memorable.
@@nerychristian MontBlanc is all about the Snowcap for me, and the crown seems an ideal place to put one. I would suggest an all steel almost flat rather than a black/white domed.
okay 1 it would have been a Montblanc service centre and these can vary with quality. 2 the stiffness is probably from not oiling the integrated canon pinion, these movements are clones of the eta and have the same set up, if you don't lubricate as per the service sheet they can and will be stiff.
I also have this Montblanc Heritage automatic, I have nothing else then problems with it. At first I got a new one, the 2nd, 3th, 4th time now they send it back to Germany for Service... Always I get liquid behind the hourglass and it get's very visual especially at hot days... I am done with this brand. I am watching this video for a few minutes and see he had problems aswell. Please trust me don't ever buy Montblanc watches, spend a little more get a Omega, Breitling or whatever...😊
Thanks! Been looking at montblanc, seems good for the price, thanks for your review! A question, that you probably get a lot, you dont seem like a flipper, how many watches do you currently own? And how many watches make a good watch collection in your opinion? Thanks again and rock on watch-brother! Love Johan from Sweden
Another great topic - who is the actual brains behind your channel? Ok seriously, I think I am seeing a trend of declining service times and declining service quality for all watch brands. I think this is due to a shortage of experienced watch makers. This is pretty awesome skill and people say it takes years to become an expert. It does suck that everyone has to send the watch back to Switzerland to get fixed and pretty much they only do normal serving in the states. I am thinking that we should start a destination vacation company that lands in Switzerland and takes a month of the service time. I do think that you got a pretty reasonable turn around but a bad outcome. I am working on next weeks question that involves Kilts and ceramic. Please tell your AD I never did any jail time. I know your get on a plane soon and its not so great for a wonky back- so be careful and take it easy.
I saw a similar post somewhere on TH-cam about bad service and long repair times but for me I have two Rolex's that need basic service and, I don't want to give them up till I get new watches to wear, but Rolex won't sell them to me - LOL. Anyway, was wondering about you insights on the writer actors strike but understand if that a deep rabbit hole. and too much to write in a post. You are really a unique and authentic voice and am glad I found your stuff - thank you ⌚@@talkingtimepieceswithtony
Well, at least you got it back. 30-odd yrs ago sent my orig Explorer for service. They messed up and i had to return it again. That was the last time i saw my watch. It was one of the early 34mm editions, so was seriously pissed-off. Thanks Rolex, you suck!
Sucks even more when i see the stupid prices the early explorers are fetching.! I'll stik to Omega & Breitling in future. Great service and no probs. Cheers!@@talkingtimepieceswithtony
I think Montblanc should leverage the Minerva name more. As much as they try, they can’t seem to escape the pen company vibe.
Yeah, I agree 100%. They could be so much bigger than what they are.

If that’s the case, it’s kinda flawed! They shouldn’t act that way regardless. I still like them. 🤙🤙
Sup Tony?! I got “the call” from my AD about a Rolex Sea-Dweller! I’m pretty stoked. Going in on Friday to pick it up.
Duuuuude!!! That is awesome! Congrats 🍾 🍻😊😊🤙🤙

Too bad about the reliability issues man…. And I never drove one but always liked the 84’ C4 Vette! 😃

I have the Geosphere and love it. I have purchased only four relatively expensive new watches, and of them, only the Montblanc has been reliable.
🤙🤙
The Geosphere is indeed an amazing watch. I love the design with those little globes.
I will add that it is possibly my most accurate watch, and that the globe design is a refreshingly clean take on a world timer.
They are both very good looking watches, Tony. I'd be quite annoyed if mine had the problems yours does. Still under warranty?
Hey man, it’s okay. Yes. Still under warranty.

Thank you. I have a Montblanc Heritage. It’s a nice watch. Plus something not too many people have. 🤙🤙
I love MontBlanc Pens, Card Holders, Wallets, Belts, Cufflinks………. But Watches….. Not So Much 😂
i went in there and asked them about pens i told them I was a lefty and they basically told me to scram lol.
Pens are great, watches are cool too. Not all of them of course.

I sent that exact same one back. It’s beautiful mind. I got another Montblanc - Star legacy with blue leather strap. Love it! Beautiful to look at …
I love mine. But I was a little disappointed in their servicing. Congrats on your Star Legacy! 😊😊🤙🤙
I love my 7035 blue dial, diver 200m, 38mm x 11mm, eta 2892. My GADA watch.
Cool. 🤙🤙
I have the bronze Geosphere and an iced sea. Both are great!
Awesome. Enjoy. 🤙🤙
How about montablanc 117575 accurate???

That sucks that Montblanc had it for two months, and it still isn’t winding correctly. $2600.00 is a lot of money! 🎃
I agree! 🎃🎃👻👻💀💀
Crazy expensive as for a pen brand but looking nice.
