Casio is my main brand and the solars are kept in a case with a clear top to keep them charged. Best watches for the price and the variety is staggering. Viva la Casio!!
Important note: just minor but noticeable your equipment shakes/vibrate when you move (noticeable from shots afar right from the beginning), the camera/setup starts to shake which gives an unpleasant feeling that the eyes shake. Side note, I love that you set all your watches accurately for presentation! Amazing little Detail!
Thanks for the update. I subscribed to your channel last year when I was getting into watches. I feel like many budget watch bloggers on here typically end up stretching their 'budget' up to 1000-2000 grand and lose touch with their audience, or they simply go into full Aliexpress sponsorship. I like that you are still sticking to your creed and it shows in your personal collection. I remember that Alpinist review and I was hoping that you still have it, and I was very happy to see it. Wishing you all the best with your channel!
Once you go there, you just want fewer, nicer watches. You are going to spend the same money, so why not buy one nice watch per year instead of six or more cheap ones ends up being more satisfying. Seiko’s around $1,000 or more are really good. Chris Ward is another great brand in that price range. Most people end up making that transition.
Yeah green and gold Alpinist is also on my list - unfortunately Seiko keeps discontinuing others I want to like the Flightmaster. At least they brought the Arnie back. All three on my list.
This might be the first SOTC video I've made it through and will watch again. It's so much more interesting than the 1000s of, "Here's my Speedmaster, my Explorer, my Royal Oak, my Vacher... YAAAAAAWWWWNNNN..." videos out there.
Saving up for a Wise GMT. I got a Wise Hitman when I was about to go through an operation a few years ago, as something to look forward to while I was recuperating. As a Thai I'm really proud of this brand!
You are one of my favorite reviewers out there, not the least because I also share a similar sized wrist and a love for pilot watches! That Erebus looks good, let me know if you're planning to sell it. Edit: I just saw that you have 158k subscribers now, that's crazy! I joined when you had under 5k.
There is nothing like snooping around someone else’s collection to discover a new favourite. This is the first time I’ve set eyes on a “Gavox,” but I doubt it’ll be the last time I see one - what a champ. Enjoy your watches. The two Seiko pieces are pretty sweet too - wow!
As soon as you have started showing your collection, i was on the lookout if you still have the alpinist deep lake and im happy you still do. I got into watches through an instagram post of an alpinist ginza and quickly realized i missed the opportunity to purchase it by a year. Looking for alternatives, i saw your review of the deep lake and i loved it ever since. More power to your channel!
I love the fact that you take the time out to make these informative videos for us, and that with the earnings you can actually buy watches you want. Win win situation. Thanks
nice collection. Good to see the enthusiasm for the lower price bracket. Often get fed up with people showing off their unobtanium watches. Also a LaCo Fan.
That was really fun! Thanks for the walk through. It was cool to see that you still own some of my favorite watches that you’ve reviewed years ago. 😎👍🏼
Nice collection, i bought the alpinist deep lake after watching your review and its stunning, its shown me that you dont need to spend silly money to get a good watch, the alpinist to me looks like a luxury watch.
I really liked the Laco GMT that you don’t have in your collection. But your Seiko watches are the ones I loved. That urushi dial is pure class, borrowing a phrase from TGV.
This was a very satisfying video to watch, thanks for sharing your ideas and reasons on why you selected your watches. Something I also enjoyed was all the strap matching you have done, I’d also watch a video on just that.
Found you via Teddy Baldassarre’s year end video and glad I did. I can’t watch another video from people raving about boring and unattainable Rolex’s. Keep it up!!
I admit, I would never have guessed you as a Heroscape player! It's great to see an affordable collection that has some real variety and goes beyond a box of Ali watches and a box of divers. I really need to get a Hamilton Day-Date. It's been on my list for about two years!
Completely agree with Laco. Love the brand and how well they draw from their rich history. Always have at least one in the collection. Although they are a little pricey compared to other micro-brands, you can see where your extra money went as they are very well built.
Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I have the Seiko SPB249 (along with a couple others from that line) and its a beautiful watch. I bought it after watching your review a few years ago and I'm happy to see that you still have it.
*This* was a pleasantly eye-opening reveal of your "core" collection, and it's quite impressive to my eyes. Being partial to Seiko, I seriously dig the trio you've chosen, particularly the Alpinist and SARX Urushi. The Gavox and Ginault are standouts as well. I also applaud the less-is-more approach in your collecting: when the sheer quantity of watches becomes rather oppressive (my yardstick is when you stumble across something in a box and explain, reflexively, "I didn't even know I HAD that!"), the fun starts to diminish, and the pursuit begins to resemble mere hoarding. Looking forward to your future SOTCs!
A very nice and honest watch collection. I hope to add the Wise ADX true gmt to my collection, if they ever restock the bracelet version. Your 2 Seiko's in the second box are really nice, definite keepers. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Dave, I really like the style of your reviews. Very direct and unassuming. The Interstellar as the memorial watch for achieving 100K subs was well-earned and a very apt choice. Keep up the fine work. I think that someday you will have an Aqua Terra in the hexagonal box.
Great video Dave. Thanks for sharing your collection. And thanks for being open about which ones you were given to review and which ones you purchased. I'll have to look closer at Laco!
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
I just bought myself the JDM white Seiko GMT field watch SBSC009 and I have to say it is so beautiful. I saw your video on it and it finaly fell in price for people in europe. Very nice collection so far. I am looking forward for more JDM watch reviews :)
After 6 years i ended up with a 6 watch collection. Haven't bought a new one since a year! My collection: Tissot Squelette, Tactical frog FX, San Martin SN059, Casios: B5000D1, B5000TVB, GD350. Love them all! (Casios count imo!)
Excellent 👌 summary, some great ideas for a budding enthusiast. I could certainly find an 8 watch collection from your 2 boxes that cover all my bases. Though I might lean a bit more to a solar option or two
Seeing all those watches together in one shot, the Seiko 5 is the best looking to me. I've been looking at that Seiko 5 for about 3 years now, and I finally should get it.
It really pays to spend more to get sapphire. The king turtle or king Samurai work, but Brightz are even better, with the SPB and SBDC watches in Prospex offering incredible value for $1200. If you buy the SPB / SBDC models, they are incredible used for $600-$800. Nothing beats them at that price.
Love your channel because you bring lots of great affordable watches to the light for us to enjoy and be aware of. I enjoy a lot seeing your very nice collection, I myself want that Hamilton interstellar watch for the exact reason you have it, what a unique modern classic piece that is. Ufff that Erebus looks stunning certainly as beatiful as a GS Jody is doing quite well then. Keep on with your channel best of luck.
Ahh the Seiko (dresskx) srpe57! My very first watch purchase when I first got into watches. Still in my rotation, I’m only 28, but this watch still gets compliments!
Nice collection and your the reason we are still buying watches 😂I watched a Tudor video but i can’t justify spending that money on a watch where I got a video from on alpinist and I bought the watch and I sleep in it now I never take it off I love it so much 🎉 thanks for the video and keep collecting
Nice collection! I do find it interesting that you, and many others, often mention Nomos when referring to this bauhaus style, even though they were only established in 1990, and Stowa were est in 1927 and making watches in this style since 1937
I currently don't own a Wise, but I've heard and read so much good about this Thai brand of watches. From oyster steel for the case's and bracelets to how well they are finished even visible under the micro they hold up. I'd like to see a few more models of this brand reviewed here.
Thanks for sharing your SOTC Dave! I loved that Gavox watch although it is too big for my wrist, and also that blacked out Nodus is gorgeous!! I was also surprised (as many already noted) by finding Squale and Yema missing... you truly loved those watches 😮
Hi Dave. Superb collection. In your permanent box, the Seiko Urushi dial is my ultimate aim, ever since I saw your review of it some time ago. But for now, I guess the next watch I would probably buy is the Timex Expedition in the challenger box. I already have a few Timexes. Wouldn't hurt to have another one... 😊
Good stuff.! I really like Vario, that 1918 Trench is sweet. The "Casio Royal" is definitely a keeper, kinda "Steampunk", i have a Kraniodesign version of the Casio, he came out with the Bronze & Sapphire combo mod case, before SKXMOD did.. I purchased one and I absolutely love it!
Hi Dave, great video, as always! I'm with you on a 12-hour bezel! I'm also in the same boat as you with regard to a Speedmaster (i.e., Can't/Won't); but, the real Grails in life, Faith and Family, you seem to have in abundance!
The "Box of Casios" is a real thing. I have a relatively varied collection of about 25 watches with some expensive pieces (Omega, Rolex, Patek, Brietling, etc.) but to be completely honest I wear my Casios *FAR MORE* than any of my more expensive pieces. Right now I'm wearing my all metal Casio G-Square. BTW - I LOVE the Wise GMT, that is one I'm seriously considering adding to my collection.
Dave, thank you for making watch collection, simple and inexpensive. I like you, would like to have about 8 watches.. and no need for them to be excessive in price. I love the Erebus, Seiko SARX029 , Tuseno Windseeker, Hamilton Pilot, the Wise GMT (but I did get the Jack Mason GMT StartOtimer), and Bulova Lunar watch … always look forward to your reviews . Always looking for the best price / quality ratio watches.
Dave, excellent video. I bought the Samurai somewhere around the time you reviewed it. At the time I had a 7.5 inch wrist. It's one of the more beautiful watches in my collection, however, I don't wear it as much as I used to.
Satisfying showcase of collection. I have the same leather hexagon watch box but in chocolate brown color, also containing no luxury watches, the most expensive being a hamilton ventura and the most iconic being my ever dearest seiko skx009 in jubilee strapcode bracelet.
Thanks for sharing your journey. My A168 with the SKXMOD kit with the new faceplate is literally my favorite watch right now. I can’t take it off my wrist. I’m thinking of getting another one of course Casio Royal version also. I hear they are also working on a 5600 kit. My next five “watch” purchases may end up being not watches at all but loots from SKXMOD!
It's definitely the more interesting box! And I expect it usually will be, when I force myself to limit my collection to a few watches I tend to go towards more "boring" watches. Ha!
Wow, just finished the vid. We have pretty similar tastes. Either box would fit into my dresser perfectly. Similar grail level and dollar parameters as well. The quality of watches at the mid level is so good and so many choices, it is hard to get up into the luxury level thinking for me. 7 of those that stick out for me: Khaki date, Alpinist, the Timex, the Laco, the Gavox, Vario and Lunar pilot. If I had to choose one, then Khaki date.
8 watches is a great goal! I got the same, not having more that 8 automativ expensive watches is perfect for me (excluding gshocks, gifts and my starting quarz pieces)
Man I wish I had a flat wrist like you. That Dress-kx looked great on your wrist but on my 6.5in wrist it looks big because my wrist is so rounded. Absolutly love that watch
The “box of Casios that don’t count but you wear them more than anything else” comment is so on point!
Casio is my main brand and the solars are kept in a case with a clear top to keep them charged. Best watches for the price and the variety is staggering. Viva la Casio!!
I love the casio edifices..recently bought a Honda 10hr ...now I'm eyeing gmt5 seiko and a citizen tiffany blue..

You are the reason I bought the Seiko Alpinist after watching your review on it. Love the dna strands on the dial.
The Alpinist is my grail level watch, I could probably swing it by selling a few of my Seikos.
Yeah green and gold Alpinist is also on my list - unfortunately Seiko keeps discontinuing others I want to like the Flightmaster. At least they brought the Arnie back. All three on my list.

The Erebus is such a nicely balanced watch with a lot of thoughtful design. The white dial looks amazing.
I bought the Bulova 2 weeks ago for $275 off amazon. Killer watch
Agreed, or some other people pushing AliExpress watches, while having Rolex or Omegas in their collection.
Wise, Hamilton, Erebus, Bulova and Laco, great minds think alike 😁
Great and classy video. I appreciate that there is no background music and the video quality is excellent.
That was really fun! Thanks for the walk through. It was cool to see that you still own some of my favorite watches that you’ve reviewed years ago. 😎👍🏼
Nice collection. That Ginault needs to move to the main box. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Nice to see your personal collection and hear your reasoning. Very thoughtful video. Enjoyed it.

That Bulova Lunar pilot and Laco B Type Flieger ♥️♥️ great picks
My fave is the Hamilton day date one, looks amazing!
Well that was a great presentation so informative to see those watches in your collection and why you enjoy them and told with honesty great video.
That Merkur is very nice and I bet taking a nibble out of Marathon sales.
If TGV makes his pilgrimage to Japan it would be great to see you guys do a video together.

Knowing your channel, I think the collection will evolve and will be refined more.
Very nice watches the Vario and the Seiko with the blue dial are gorgeous! The Hamilton goes without saying and Interstellar is a classic!
An EPIC Keppers box, and still less than one Omega Seamaster. That WISE is a near perfect watch imo.
Hah! Love it when you think of the perfect watch for you and it already exist in your price range. The Nodus looks so handsome, congrats!
Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
