    • @samih5916
      @samih5916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +147

      That's what I was thinking, what happened to Colin reminded of the case of a murderer called Raymond Edmunds (aka Mr Stinky) except instead of catfishing and love letters, a man who's ex girlfriend was murdered by Edmunds was accused by the police and the public of doing it and the police beat him up to get a confession from him and I found it so disgusting and unprofessional of them to do that.

    • @mehreen5338
      @mehreen5338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +97

      Catfish. Yes. That's the whole summary of this operation. The fact that they spent money on THIS than anything was pretty damn unprofessional.

      @@user-sf9gs2pg1b I don't think this looks fun. "Lizzy James" took an early retirement just because of how this operation ruined their reputation.
      And the operation itself is uncomfortable. Sending sexual letters of odd (and slightly disturbing) pleasures, have phone calls and dates, and also falsely confessing to a double murder sounds messed up and not fun at all.

      I doubt he has become a murderer. He seems like a bit of a weird guy but his big hangup was that he was so lonely but now he's married and even has step kids and seems to be very happy. The police really, really encouraged these violent fantasies and thoughts in him though! Like, if during the time he was "dating" that undercover officer if he murdered to impress her that wouldn't be shocking at all! He actually demonstrated good intuition for knowing that her claims of murder were made up, actually it doesn't sound believable at all in the context of this sexual fantasy, it sounded so bizarre.

    It's so disgusting that this is how they went about trying to get a confession out of him. Whether he did it or not, that confession should NOT be admissable in court because it's so freaking shady. It makes it even worse because he didn't do it. And the fact that they just kept pushing him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you're two consenting adults, your kinks should not come into the conversation.
