Yeah, I was most certainly surprised by that. Probably she said she relocated to a new place hence she wanted to changes stores and the HR manager didn’t ask the other store how she was as an employee. But still, I agree it’s weird - when it’s the same brand and all it is probably not a big thing to do. I guess the HR manager was just happy that she had previous experience in the same type of store...

@@999shosha a lot of companies won't buy certain stores any cameras or any type of security if that certain store isn't worth much (aka doesn't make a certain amount yearly.) My mom works at a family dollar and the high ups won't get the store cameras because they aren't a million dollar store. My mom and her manager had to use their own paychecks and both pitched in on buying the store cameras.
I work at a higher end outlet shop and we don’t have cameras because our theft is low so they don’t want to spend the money on security cameras 🤦🏻♀️

I feel so horrible for Jayna, she had a horrible way to go ,I pray she was unconscious for the most part. I can't believe the Apple employees heard her begging for her life and did absolutely nothing at all. I wonder if any of them felt bad after hearing about what really happened... As soon as I saw Brittney was still alive I knew it was her!!! Can't believe she could do something so horrific for something so meaningless and small smh I pray Jayna is resting in paradise 🙏❤️
Definitely! Especially since brittney's story didn't match up with any evidence and she wasn't brutally attacked like Jayna was.
I feel like the Apple employees should have been charged but maybe that's just me.

Jayna's pants were disheveled and the crotch cut out, if i recall from other videos on this.. this means Brittany and been reamed out by Jayna for the clothing theft, then caught her by surprise, and beaten her with tools and hammers and wrenches and finally with the knife to the neck. And then with her being incapacitated, Brittany then handled and moved her body, arranged objects around her, and pulled down her pants and roughing up her clothes, to build up the sx assault story, and then scratched herself up a bit, hitting her own body to get a few scars, spent the night at the store with Jayna's dead body, which she probably kicked and beat after she was dead. then tying herself up with zip ties show she could be "discovered".
This is the work of a human devil.
Based on a book a read about the case, the girl working at the apple store felt so horrible for not calling for help. It's easy to blame them but the Bystander Effect is a very real thing that happens to even the best intentioned people. But rest assured, the apple employees will live with the guilt for the rest of their lives.

@savvy Wilson I had to call the cops on some crackhead neighbours. The lady was screaming for someone to help her, and there was a man telling her to shut up. Then I heard smashing glass. They might have just been high on something but still. It's better to be safe than sorry. Definitely wouldn't get close, myself though lol.

I can't believe what an incredible woman Jayna was. She was so smart, talented and sweet. Life is just so unfair. She did nothing but she still ended up as a murder victim. Even tho nobody deserves such a brutal death, my heart breaks for her, her family and her boyfriend :( I hope they're ok.
I was thinking about how behind every. Single. Murder. The victim was someone with dreams. They had goals.. idk that just kinda made me really sad

Brittany’s story should have seemed suspicious from the get go. For starters, brutally murdering one victim while leaving the other with just some superficial wounds would be more or less unheard of. Secondly, she makes it seem like this was a premeditated, planned attack (the attackers knew personal details about her like her address), yet it all hinged on a completely random event - Brittany forgetting her Metrocard and having to return to the store after lock up. It just doesn’t add up.
They could have pulled her ID or something out of her purse to get her address though

If everyone called police every time they heard a scream, the police would literally be doing nothing else. However, in this case those Apple employees seem pretty dim. Someone begging for someone to "stop" and "can we just talk" can't be much more obvious that something is wrong.

Unfortunately it's so common. People don't want to get involved. A few weeks ago a woman was being attacked on the street and not a single soul helped her except for me. No one one even bothered to call the police.

Same here. I suspect that the 'survivor' set it up, and then claimed such a horrific story to guilt people into not questioning her too much and to excuse any inconsistencies in her story.

I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about the victims and details about their lives, so many of these types of videos focus on the crime and only mention the victims as just that, victims. It’s easy to forget that they were people with their own lives and loving families and friends.

I love how respectful Eleanor is. She treats all these people like people. Non of them are just a figure in a story she respects and acknowledges that they are all people.
I usually don’t like watching these videos because usually people don’t see them as actual people who went through something terrible. But I was very pleased when I watched her video because she’s so respectful

Add that to the suspicious key, there being no tracks or anything to indicate anyone left the store, let alone sb COVERED in blood after stabbing a woman 300+ times and just the fact that the crime seemed to have a sexual motive but only partaining to Brittany. Idk also just how Brittany was tied up and had a shirt tied around her neck and whatnot and Jeyna was "just" stabbed.

I lived in Bethesda when that happened. I was at the gym that morning with one of Jayna’s best friends when she found out. It was absolutely horrible. What they don’t talk about is how lit up the entire street is too! Even with the storefronts lights off, the street is full bright. The Murray’s have a foundation and a 5K in remembrance of Jayna. It was such a sad reason to lose your life over a smaller offense.

I heard a story of a man under a woman’s bed she had got her mail whilst talking to her bf over the phone. She’d dropped her phone saw a man and tried not to panic she told her bf she’s goin to take a shower she turned on the shower. Then she jumped out of her first story window called the cops and they told her to wait across the street to see if anyone came out.when the cops came out they told her the man had a knife waiting outside the bathroom door.

I lived there when this murder happened (I was in high school). Can confirm that it is a wealthy, kind of stuck-up area, it was right in between the Apple Store and The North Face store, across the street from a fancy salad place called sweetgreen (not sure if all still there, haven't been back in a couple years). It was an incident that definitely sent ripples through the community because the circumstances were just so cruel. I actually went in the store once it re-opened after the murder and got a really creepy vibe.
How long was the store closed for? I can't imagine going back there to knowing what happened to buy some leggings :/
It’s actually incredibly, awfully common for bystanders to hear or even see rapes, murders, attacks, and robberies -and still never report it. It could very easily be you if you’re ever in danger. Don’t be that person. Check on screams, don’t be afraid to call the police if you’re too afraid to check. Better to look stupid than be partially responsible for someone’s death. And yes-I truly believe you’re partially responsible and I’m not going to retract that statement.
Sadly this is true. I got attacked on the street by an unknown man with a knife, ya can't imagine how I screamed and yelled for help. No one went outside to check what was happening and no one even looked out the window! It's scary but unfortunately it's more likely that no one will help you if you're in trouble.
Its a psychology thing, unless you personally point at someone and say you help me. People just wont do anything.
Like the other person commented it comes down to psychology, as a psych student these types of cases are very common, and just to give a general overview there are about 5 stages of helping and one of these stages is responsibility to act and in this situation it is the “bystander effect”, when standing in a crowd and a crime is happening people will feel less inclined to help as the personal responsibility is diffused amongst bystanders, they start to think “oh, I don’t need to help because someone else is probably going to help or call the police” it is very interesting but there are many case studies on this, if you would like to know one of the most famous cases of this exact situation look up the murder of Kitty Genovese.
Also I’m not disagreeing with your comment, I do agree that there was only a couple people and it would have helped if they just called the police, but im just explaining that there is a reason as to why people don’t try to help
i know the case this claim is usually based on, the woman being raped and murdered was a known lesbian and people have hypothized that it wasnt "bystander effect", just homophobia that allowed the crime to take place.

Puppy Feet really depends on the company you work for. I worked at one store where we had the 2 person rule where there could never be less than 2 people in the store but I’ve also worked at a smaller company where I would be the only person there for hours at a time, especially closing shift.

I’m so annoyed those people didn’t call the police, my upstairs neighbors were doing something one night, no major noises or fighting, l could just very slightly hear a woman voice saying “please let me go” or things like “stop” and l could barely tell where the voices were coming from or what the situation was, l could only hear panic in her voice. I started shaking, l waited a bit longer to hear her one more time and when l did, l woke up my husband, l was so scared and crying, l called police immediately. I told them on the phone l have no idea, they might be playing around or whatever but if tomorrow l wake up and find out something happened to her and l didn’t do something, l couldn’t live with myself. They told me to relax, l was doing the right thing and they came. Her husband had actually beaten her, l think l was on my headphones and l didn’t hear the fight, l heard the aftermath when l decided to go to sleep. I was so relieved because l think the police came on a very critical moment, l saw her husband in the house again a bit later but at least l did my part . It’s very easy to tell that something is wrong, l don’t understand what they were thinking, irresponsible people

i don’t know if anyone else has heard of the Van Breda murders, but almost an entire family was murdered with 2 survivors. one was severely injured, but the other had lots of very superficial wounds and it turned out that he was the one who had committed the murders. i think it’s definitely the same case here!! superficial wounds are a way perpetrators try and make themselves appear as if they are a victim but obviously it is simply too painful to significantly injure yourself
