ලංකා යනු අලංකාර යන අදහස ද ඇත. රාවණා පුරය යනු අලංකාර පුරයක්. එම පුරය පිහිටියේ රට මධ්‍යයේය. එය දූපතක් නොවේ.
උත්සාහය හොඳයි හැබැයි, මීට කලින් මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් කියවලා ඉන්න. විජය ආගමනය, ඓතිහාසික කතාවක් විදිහට ඉතිහාසඥයන් පිළිගන්නේ නැ.

@@binduwa6265 පාසල් පොත් වල විජයාගමනය සිංහලයාගේ ආරම්භය විදිහට දක්වා තියේ නම් ඒක වැරදියි. මොකද ඒක ඓතිහාසික සිදුවීමක් ලෙස කිසිම ඉතිහාසඥයෙක් පිලිගන්නේ නැ. මහාවංසය එකම මූලාශ්‍රය නොවන බව ඇත්ත. මහාවංසයේ ඇති සත්‍ය අසත්‍යතාව ගැන මීට කලින් අධ්‍යයන කරපු අය හිටියා. ඒනිසා මහාවංසය කියන්නේ සැහෙන අධ්‍යාපනයට ලක් වුණු ඉතිහාස මුලාශ්‍රයක්. සිංහලයාගේ සම්භවය ගැන හොඳ අධ්‍යයනයක් කරපු කෙනෙක් තමයි ජි.සි. මෙන්ඩිස්. විජය පුරාවෘත්තය ගැන මෙන්ඩිස් පළ කළ අදහස් සිංහලයා ගේ සම්භවය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වද්දි මගහරින්න බැ. ඒකයි මම කිව්වේ මේ ගැන තව ටිකක් කියවා තිබ්බා නම් හොඳයි. අඩුපාඩුවක් නෙමෙයි. වඩා සාර්ථක වෙන්න. 😊
@@binduwa6265 ඉතිහාස පොත් වල ලියවුනේ ඇත්තම නෙවෙයි. 6 වසරේ ඉතිහාසය පොත බලලද මේ වීඩියෝ එක කලේ. ඉතිහාසය ගැන 100% ඇත්ත දැන් ඉන්න කවුරුවත් හරියට දන්නෙ නෑ. එහෙම නොදැන තමන්ගෙම රට ජාතිය අපහසයකට ලක් කරන්න ලැජ්ජ නැද්ද? අපිට රාවණාගේ ඉතිහාසය බොරු කියන්න බෑ ඒ කිසි දෙයක් අපි දැකපු නැති පලියට.

නමුත් සිංහල ජාතිය යනු සිංහබාහුගේ පරපුර නෙවේ.අනුලෝමය හරි.පුතිලොමය වැරදි.

The History of Sri Lanka is very old.
Language , Ethnicity came very later considering the history of Sri Lanka.
The Tamil Language is older than Sinhalese language.
The Tamil civilization is older than Sinhalese civilization.
The Tamil civilization helped and shaped Sinhalese civilization.
The Sinhalese did not arrive to Sri Lanka. Sinhalese is an ethnicity that was born in Sri Lanka. Some men came to Sri Lanka but they weren’t Sinhalese at that time. Then they married woman from Pandya (Tamil) kingdom. Their generation had become known as Sinhalese.
Before these men arrived it’s possible that Tamilans from South India definitely would have ventured the island which was walk-able in the past.
But this doesn’t mean we Sri Lankan Tamil precede Sinhalese.But I’m not denying that possibility too. Or we can be simply people that came with those pandyan princess. or invaders from choala kingdoms in later times.
All I’m saying some Tamil community had greater chance to step foot in Sri Lanka than Sri Lankan born Sinhala civilization after 500BC

The famous Vallipuram Buddha statue built with Dravidian sculptural traditions from Amaravathi village, Guntur district (Amaravati school) was found in excavations below the Hindu Temple. The language of the inscription is Tamil-Prakrit, which shares several similarities with script inscriptions used in Andhra at the time, when the Telugu Satavahana dynasty was at the height of its power and its 17th monarch Hāla (20-24 CE) married a princess from the island.[15][16] Peter Schalk writes, "Vallipuram has very rich archaeological remains that point at an early settlement. Also, it is sheer joblessness to argue about things like 'Tamil is older than Sanskrit' or 'Tamil is the only oldest language, the one which was spoken by the first evolving monkeys' etc. Tamil is old and that's it.
One important point to consider is that a language is a very dynamical entity, it keeps growing and growth very much means change. The oldest Tamil might not have any resemblance to the contemporary one. But, then they might not be very different either. (Confusing? There is this paradoxical puzzle: If you replace every part of a ship with identical part, one by one, and gradually, can the end result be called as the original one? Are you having the same ship you started with or a new one? Surely, you didn't have a 'new' ship during the process! Something like calculus here...)
Okay, now let me give you some dates:
The oldest extant book in Tamil is its grammar treatise 'Tholkaappiyam', this is widely dated to be from 200 BC. The author of this work in many places mention 'they say so' (or something similar to that) indicating a very prevalent grammar and literature tradition even before him. Now Tholkaappiyam is a very rich and organized grammar, factoring in the fact that it will take a long literary tradition to condense down to a well structured grammar like Tholkaappiyam, we should be dating Tamil literature at least a couple thousand years before this work - which is about 2000 or 3000 BC. (But, unfortunately, none of the works from these periods survived, not any that we know of... Read below)
Puranaanooru is one among the eight anthologies of Sangam Tamil literature. Again, it was said that there were three such 'sangam's (literary associations) constituted and patronized by the Pandiyar of Madurai. The works (like Puranaanooru) that survive are said to be from the last of the three Sangams. The previous two must date back well in to history (again, we don't have any solid proofs for this!)
One song from Puranaanooru mentions a river named 'Pahuruli', which is supposedly from the drowned Kumari Kandam (Lemuria). If the author was a contemporary of this river and Lemuria (whose existence again is one with no solid proof!) then that particular song might be much older (about 5000 to 10000 BC!)
Similarly another song in Puranaanooru talks about a king who served food for both the armies during the Kurukshetra war (so, if we are done convincing ourselves that the Mahabharatha took place for real and fix a time for it, then we might also do so for this one song!)
This is only literary evidence, if we move on to archeological evidence, then we see stone inscriptions and coins from 500 BC and much before (there is a lot of politics in properly analyzing these stuff! Let me not get in those!)
In all, there is no difficulty in accepting Tamil as one of the oldest languages of the world. But none can fix an exact date and time for it - it is not a defect in our instruments or methods, it's just prehistoric!

Absolutely, a lot of Sinhalese have Malayali ancestry due immigration from Kerala in the last 500 years or so. However, there seems to be evidence of Malayali immigration to Sri Lanka even in the ancient times and interestingly some Sinhalese immigrating to Kerala as well. It is fair to say that Sinhalese and Malayalis share the same gene pool to a great extent.
Several Sinhalese castes especially from the costal regions such as Karava, Durava and Salagama, claim ancestry from different regions of present day Kerala. There is a theory that that Ezheva caste of Kerala originated from Sri Lanka and originally had a Buddhist background therefore people have moved both ways between the two regions. There is also evidence that some Malayali migrants were absorbed into the Govigama caste of coastal regions.
A shared ancestry has been further augmented by similarities in food, landscape, customs and habits of the two regions. The only major difference between the Sinhalese and Malayalis is language. Sinhalese is an Indo-iranian language while Malayali is a member of the Dravidian family. In my opinion, the community with the closest kinship to the Sinhalese in the subcontinent are the Malayalis. Although Buddhism has almost disappeared from Kerala, historians say that in ancient times Kerala had a strong position and its cultural influence can still be seen in the people of Kerala. It is believed that Buddhism reached Kerala in its infancy. There is historical evidence that Buddhist monks came to Kerala in the 6th century BC. The teachings of Ashoka and many of the local kings of Kerala and the many works of the Sangam period show the influence of Buddhism in Kerala. Emperor Ashoka sent Buddhist monks to all directions and a group of Buddhist monks came here directly from Sri Lanka. Ashoka was an emperor who longed to conquer the whole of India. Due to his military prowess and the religious tolerance of the Chera kings in Kerala, Buddhism was widely accepted. The moral struggle waged by Buddhist monks against human sacrifice, animal sacrifice and other rituals was the first social reform in Kerala against the customs of Dravidian culture. Buddhism, which changed the cultural fabric of Kerala and revolutionized social life, was later reduced to a nominal one. As a revolutionary change in the field of education, they established temples and numerous clinics in all corners. Their treatment centers, known as medical centers, brought about a radical change for Keralites who were practicing witchcraft at that time. But Buddha not singalese. Buddha is originated Hidu.
