In my experience, it doesn't matter what we are talking about (jobs, relationships, travel) everything gets old after awhile.
Oct 30, 2024 will be my 10 year anniversary of full time travel. People seem to (mistakenly) assume that travel life is a party & it never gets old.
After my 10 year anniversary, in October, I am considering finding a place and settling in for awhile.
Argentina is a wonderful country, however, in the month that I was there, I never felt safe.
October 2023, my friend and I were involved in an armed robbery in Puebla, Mexico so, chances of me coming back to Mexico, after I leave this time, are virtually zero. I feel SO much safer in SE Asia then I do anywhere in Latin America.
A change is as good as a rest and, many times, turning points can make all the difference in life.

Agree...People love to glamorize travel.If you are doing it alone all the time you get lonely af...My only issue is I hate humidity..Sweating after being outside for 15 minutes isnt comfortable at all for me as an outdoor person...Thats my issue w SE Asia.Am currently in Mexico City,the weather is great but the people arent friendly

Yes Sweden is cold but perhaps he should start a career there as he works on his Visa issues so he is employable as a 30 plus year old if he does get back to the USA. Jobs are getting harder to come by here and the competition will be stiff if he has only been a TH-cam vlogger for years.

A man eventually needs to find his place, settle down, and focus on building meaningful connections over just having many. William, I truly respect your journey and love what you're doing, but at some point, you have to ask yourself about finding that place to call home. I feel like you're often questioning where to settle, always on the lookout for the perfect spot. However, I believe that true arrival happens when you have people to share it with. We humans need a community-what joy is there in life if we can't share it with someone?
It seems you're still searching for your purpose, but as you said, sometimes the journey itself is the purpose. I don't think you get bored of places quickly; instead, you might feel restless because you lack a project you deeply love and follow. This could be anything, from raising children to starting a new venture. You can't find meaning if you never stop and listen, instead of always searching.

So excited for this new venture. My apartment here in Hudson Florida is 1720 a month not on the ocean two bed two bath garage n a loft n still pay water 70 phone electric can be 200 plus in summer so then add car payment insurance food health hygiene it's terrible .I was an open heart n travel nurse it was great n I had money to do stuff but now disabled n life is a struggle n no money to do anything. Maybe you should get a dog it makes life more fun. Why not update us on yours n Maria's situation ? Do you still keep in contact? If you just tell us then we won't have everyone always asking or talking about her. I wish you well. I also wish we didn't have to wait so long for videos from you. We have so many similarities. I traveled with my dog for 2 1/2 years in Mexico. He started to become sick so we came back to the states. I sense your not sure if you want to find a spot for a while. I felt spoiled being in Mexico and enjoying life. I came back to the USA and not as happy. I have now visited 12 places in the USA to see if I would live there. All of them are a NO.
Its more of a challenge to travel with my dog. I would love to visit Thailand or Vietnam. Hope we cross paths some day!
I’m curious which towns in the USA that you didn’t like. I’ve been looking at a few places like Sedona, AZ, and FL and GA. So undecided.
Good intro to house vs apartment. When I traveled a lot I would try to find people in groups with the same interests. For a while it was orchids. Met new people and some became friends I am still connected to. Same with scuba diving. When I settled in Portland again I met people who had similar interests.. I also Volunteer to this day in places where I meet people. So many ways, and no need to hangout in bars and discos unless you feel like it . They don't define you, your interests do.
You sound needy .That house would be great for a loner like me .Its too big though .A similar one ,2 bedroom with a bigger garden and enclosed garage /workshop would be my ideal .

Go to the Philippines, even cheaper living and most people speak some English (unlike Thailand). Also the girls are prettier.

Yeah, I’ve heard this too. The WiFi is patchy and unreliable, the food is poor and the overall infrastructure isn’t great.

Nice house/pool. I wouldn't mind living in a place like that. If you're lonely there, you can always get some roommates, maybe? Although, as you mentioned, it can be hard to find good people to be around. At least your brother is coming to visit. You had some good quotes in here that made me think. "I don't think really you're more happy if you stay in a house or an apartment." I always think I'll be happier in my own house. But who knows? I'd still be alone.
