That's quite a collection of horns on those Plasser and Theurer machines. Don't want to be too close. Now, I've looked at my railway related literature and I'm stumped by Rugby DED. I seek enlightenment. Wasn't 70812 associated with the 'logs' for quite a while?
I needed to search around for DED. District Electric Depot! Now the Colas depot at Rugby.
The only time I’ve heard this type of flange squeal is when I travel on the Volks Railway along the Brighton sea front!!
There's no greaser on the curves into and out of the platforms. No noise on wet days but when its dry and the drivers exceed the speed limit it can be very noisy
Awesome variety! good vid Les.
Thank you
Ligt enngine fest there Leslie. Very nice.
Thanks Tim
Nice action Leslie.
Thanks Andy
Was a derailment last night effecting the West Coast Mainline, hardendale near snap.
Serious delays until line reopened. Additional delays on Tyne Valley due to a landslip
Great vid as usual, Les. But .... WTF is Rugby DED? I like the way you attach comments to your vids. maybe these comments could include translations for e.g. DED, RFT, DecoyYard ... etc etc. Thanx, Les (otherwise just say "Rugby" and leave it at that.)
I take the destinations straight from RealTime Trains and only interpret if I am confident. Its important to be specific as to source and destination. Decoy Yard is a specific yard near Doncaster station. Rugby DED is the former Rugby District Electric Depot (I have just discovered) and now Colas Rail's depot
Is the video of the test train that came i think it was on the 28th im not sure but i did see you at the station!
No previous week
nice video
Thanks
Why is that Colas Class 70 making so much flange squeal? Is there something wrong with the gauging of the locomotive?
As well as it being dry rail on a curve, I suspect the brakes etc are being gently applied to prevent wheel spin.
