About the "Philly Rant" he wasn't bombing. Philadelphia attacked every comedian that had taken the stage and when it got to Bill, he was done and attacked them back. He went out swinging. Also, never change for your viewers. We were drawn here for you being you. Anyone who leaves because they don't agree were never real fans.

The video you spoke of at the end here is the live gig he did in Philadelphia with several other comics. Well before he went on stage, the crowd was in full Philadelphia-style heckler mode and was trying to give every comedian that came up complete shit. Most comedians either just went thru with their set or just stood there basically telling the crowd to fuck off, that their getting paid either way and they could give a fuck less.
Bill Burr however, took great offense to it and decided before he went on, that when it was his time on stage (I think they were all doing around 10-minute sets, if I recall right?), that was going to go off on these assholes, and thats precisely what he did. He spent his whole set time to just go full rant and rage on Philadelphia and he was praised by many comedians for it afterwards. You can probably find a few interviews with him where people ask him about that night and why he did what he did.
And he won the Philly crowd over as by the end of his set they loved him.
I love that your woman gets comedy and its very apparent she does. Been watching the Office blokes for a long time now but you two are great. Also is a Budweiser considered and import beer? Kinda an obvious question but I live in the states and grew up on it. 😂

In the States ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Lou Gehrig was a famous baseball player who contracted this fatal disease. It's very ironic that the disease he contracted also had the same exact name as he had!
I think both Bill n Dave Chapelle are the best. I like Bill's angry approach to big topics but always make you laugh, only a really good comic can pull that off tbh.

I would put Bill and Dave Chappelle on the same level. Both are excellent comics, with great timing. In case you didn’t know, Bill used to be a writer for the Chappelle Show.
There's a reason why Patrice O'Neal was friends with Bill and Dave had him on his show as a writer & actor.

About Bill's epic rant in Philadelphia Bob Sagat was just off stage and saw the whole thing go down. When Bill walked off sta Bob was person he talked to. Bill was beside himself and thought he had ruined his career and Bob told his that was the best thing that he had ever seen anf F them they deserve it.

I just found your channel, and I would be a liar if I said I watch everyone's videos all the way through. I normally skip the banter/into in the beginning of most people's videos, but you two are enjoyable to watch. It feels more personal, like we're buds just hangin out, almost.
I personally love Bill Burr and think he is one of the best [my current fav] comedians of all time outside of the 3 greats, Eddy Murphy, Robin Williams (R.I.P), and George Carlin (R.I.P). Those 3 changed my life and got me to love comedy and even to look at life through a completely different lens.

It's all subjective and for me personally i love both, but Bill Burr is my guy. Just gets me in tears everytime.
But Dave the boston rant story according to Bill was that all the people who went up before him were violently heckled by the entire crowd, therefore Bill didn't do any act and just roasted them from the get go. It just turned out well. He goes over it in one MMPC I think. Also I could be remembering it all wrong.

The best part about that Philly show is when he started swinging back, the crowd cheered and laughed more than they did at his actual routine. Philly's a hell of a city. They're scrappy, they won't take your shit if they don't like it or you, but if you're a fighter you'll earn their respect, even if you're throwing fists at Philly itself.
Pure brilliance....Burr is fearless and that is a rarity today.

Note: Burr doesn’t bomb in Philly. The crowd were being a$$hats to other comedians prior to Bill’s set. He was pissed off and itching for a fight by the time he hit the stage.

The ALS ice bucket challenge was made because apparently the shock to your system being covered with all that frozen ice water dumped on you is what people who have ALS feel all the time 24/7 iirc. Who fucking knows if thats true, but that was the tie to it if i remember

Stephen Hawking didn't have to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge because he's on the receiving end of all those shivering good wishes and $115M donations (in 2014 dollars), since he has ALS. That's why he's in a wheelchair. Which might be even worse than a bucket of ice. Also, I'm not quite sure what the ice accomplishes, but okay. Human beings had fun back in those days.
