This was their best time. I saw them in 1980 in The Hague. Best concert I have seen. It funny but this song is my favorite together with "In your house". Different songs, but the same effect on me.
I remember when mixed up was released : every "real" cure fan said it xas bullshit, including never enough. 27 years later, that track is still pure rock n roll. Great drumming too.
The best tunes on Mixed up are A Forest, Lullaby, Close To Me, Fascination Street, but that version of Never Enough i have never really liked. The 7" radio edit much better.
Ha. That's funny cuz my exposure to the cure was via Mixed Up album and at that time, I was too naive to know what a remix was. Later on, when I heard the original songs, I was surprised how different it was. But from the first track I was hooked. That bass in Lullaby took me to another world. It was like no other music I've heard before. And Never Enough was so kick ass. I was confused cuz I couldn't categorize the music. They were alternative rock before that term was widely used, I think.
@@thewarriorangel I've read many interviews with robert smith saying that his biggest influence was Jimi Hendrix. I could not see the connection, but with Never Enough and some songs from Wish album, I can sorta see it. His rendition of Foxy Lady with Michael Dempsey singing was hilarious. I actually like that musically, but it's a punked up hendrix for sure.
Never Enough on the Mixed Up disc was the song that got me hooked on The Cure. That disc with the extended mixes is one of my top 20 that I can’t live without.
the band that makes my taste for good music . i recorded this video in my old vhs player. i remenber see leipzing concert , since that my music always rich and fantastique . thank you very much .
Fuck, why oh why didn't I clue into these guy's when they were in their prime? Here I was thinking they were some weird goth band (me and my friends) when in reality they were one of the best alternative bands there ever was. I'm such a douche:)
I know, I feel just the same, and it makes me so sad. I was even seriously scared and freaked out as a child over Robert Smith's looks, it gave me the nightmares (mostly because of their video of the song "Lullaby"). Now I just can't believe how foolish I've been, but I'm glad I "discovered" them at this point in my life. They never cease to amaze me and I'm utterly in love with their music
SomeYoungGuy Johnson unfortunately, they stopped putting out good material since early 90's, probably with Wish being their last great studio album. I was disappointed with 4:13 dream. I thought that with the return of Porl Thompson, they would come out with a solid album, but I was mistaken. It's even worse than Wild Mood Swings and The Cure.
thankfully some "old" guy johnson clued me into the cure. and luckily youtube has all their shit. So fun. (BTW - I am posting as him - that ol' man - his johnson works great.)
It's funny. In the 80s, I didn't wasn't anything to do with these guys. I was a DJ at a nightclub, so I had no choice. HAD to play them. But years later, I went back and said "wait...these guys are awesome!" Then a few years after that, they came to New Orlean's Saenger Theater. My buddy and I went and saw them. TWO hours of the Cure, with no opening band. We sat at the top and smoked pot the whole time. Maybe it was the weed, but they put on one hell of a show!!
I was a little confused when 'Never Enough' was released, all those guitars. Now, of course, this line-up is in my top two or three Cure line-ups. I wish Porl hadn't left too. Not sure if it was the relentless touring in 1992 or what. Not sure if he'd given his notice before the tour ended or after. Still want to see the London T&CCII show in full...or HEAR it anyway.
I read that Porl was starting to lean towards a Hendrix approach towards music...and Robert was not happy with that. Porl came back later after touring with Zeppelin. Porl is freaking great.
@@kriscortland9976 That doesn't make sense to me. Rob is a massive Hendrix fan himself. I suspect that Porl just wanted to pay attention to his other interests, painting, etc. But I don't really know.
As far as camerawork goes this is the musical equivalent of showing the wrong end of the pitch when the goal of the century is being scored. How the hell do people end up directing a music show when they know absolutely f*ck all about it? Opening solo = a close up of everyone apart from the bloke who's actually playing it. They might as well have got their granny down to give directions. Pathetic.
For me, this was the best Cure's formation... Boris Williams in the drums was amazing and Porl Thomson was from another world... Miss these days...
You're correct sir. When they left the band was never the same.
No, the one now is the best, dude.
Yes man, Thompson is a fckn great guitar player!
Absolutely. By the way, Perry Bamonte is back.
Add Roger bakc and it would be the ultimate.
This is my favorite line-up. But that doesn't matter. It's all about Robert, the greatest songwriter ever.
No one is showing Simon any love here. His bass tone is very heavy here. Awesome.
One of the more underrated Cure songs imo. Everyone shines on this track. The bassline is wicked.
My all time favorite song by The Cure. This performance and lineup is right up my psychedelic alley. Cheers for sharing.
Where's the original video for this song? It seems to be censored from TH-cam.

Pearl Thompson on Guitar, Boris Williams on drums, damn listen to how f**ing amazing they sound.
Perry as well.
@@david.majchrzak7069 Perry was a hack, totally out of his depth.

I love this song. Honestly one of my favorite Cure songs.

I love Mixed Up since 1990! this live track never play the same way again!
It's sad that in this day & age people can't appreciate good music like this
I love the hard edged sound of The Cure here. This is great
GREAT DRUMMER!!!! :)
Boris - magnifique
Boris & Porl nailing it there...
I'm not accustomed to seeing Robert without a guitar. I have found that The Cure live is much, much better than any stuido recording.
Paris live album all great tracks, etc,,,,
Robert has said that Perry's style is very close to his own, which may be one reason it frees him up for vocals only in places.
I was at the concert in 1980 in The Hague. Never enough of it.

0:29 so cute :3
What a great song!
This is the cure I always needed this ensemble is the epicentre of Kewl...
The only "grunge" era song the cure ever needed.
The Cure...just Never Enough!!!!!!
Robert Smith kicks ass!
Never enough..cant get enough.. cant quit...

Been aware of this for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many years now.

Never enough and wrong number, two strange songs of the cure
British Awards 1991
the best and only line up that matters
Love this to death!
WAYBADASS🤘😮
La antesala del súper disco wish, excelente rola
❤️
ooouu yeaaahhhHh
Porl is the best!!!!!!!
How come they never played the single version of this song live?
They played it last night! Hammersmith Apollo.
Their funkiest song
Hot,Hot, Hot is in the running with this great tune
What about bananafishbones? That’s top for me and from such a robust smorgasbord album.
It's still never enough
Never Enough
Was this the last time the Brit awards were actually relevant
I think Jarvis Cocker wiggling his bum at Michael Jackson, if that counts?
A Bankers song, when they get their bonus.
Lol 😂😂
Me encanta este canción. Me gusta cuando boris tocando bateria. I think I just totally butchered the spanish language.
im exhausted energy is zero.
again repeat

What is this from? And they did do it live, but rarely...
The Brit Awards back in the 90's
Where's the original video? Is it banned?
I like the album version they fukd it live totally changed the tune.
Where is this video from?
1991 Brit Awards
I've always hated Mixed-Up. It just draws the songs out unnecessarily long and they are much less interesting. It's almost like a dub album in a way.
C V Prron :v
Lo sé
great line up of The Cure
