@Justin Stanley LOL. Unless you're particularly dull, you'll see the meaning of the lyrics within a few listens. For me, that would've been in about 1990. After that, you keep listening because it's a good song. The meaning gets no more deep.

Oh I miss the kiss of treachery
    The shameless kiss of vanity
The soft and the black and the velvety
Up tight against the side of me
And mouth and eyes and heart all bleed
And run in thickening streams of greed
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go my party piece
Oh I miss the kiss of treachery
The shameless kiss before I feed
The stench of a love for a younger meat
And the sound that it makes when it cuts in deep
The holding up on bended knees
    The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go my party piece
But I never said I would stay to the end
So I leave you with babies and hoping for frequency
Screaming like this in the hope of the secrecy
Screaming me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and stains on the scenery
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When we both of us knew how the ending would be
So it's all come back round to breaking apart again
Breaking apart like I'm made up of glass again
Making it up behind my back again
Holding my breath for the fear of sleep again
Holding it up behind my head again
Cut in deep to the heart of the bone again
Round and round and round and it's coming apart again
    Over and over and over
And now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces
I'll pull out my heart and I'll feed it to anyone
I'm crying for sympathy, crocodiles cry for the love of the crowd
And the three cheers from everyone
Dropping through sky, through the glass of the roof
Through the roof of your mouth, through the mouth of your eye
Through the eye of the needle, it's easier for me to get closer to Heaven
    Than ever feel whole again
I never said I would stay to the end
I knew I would leave you with babies and everything
Screaming like this in the hole of sincerity
Screaming me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs, pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and stains on the memory
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When both of us knew how the end always is
    How the end always is
    How the end always is
    How the end always is
    How the end always is
    How the end always is

i always love live versions of songs by The Cure because i feel that the live music adds to the raw, mellow, soothing, and passionate sound that Robert Smith incorporates into his music and songwriting. The live sound compliments his music greatly and it gives a little passionate edge that has made me a long fan of his music.

The editing in this is perfect, it gets so chaotic and dizzy as the song darkens and thickens…. I am also always amazed how the band always gives it their all every time they play it. It’s incredible.

After years without hearing this song, it was inevitable I would come back to it again.
Divorce is never easy. All the time and effort and sacrifices made building up and strengthening a relationship only for it to crumble to pieces and blow away with the wind.
Thank God for our daughter. At least I can know that we got a precious child out of it all. But the guilt of bringing her into a broken family will be excruciating to come to terms with.
Funny how the songs you listened to growing up come back to you, only this time you feel like you are part of the song.

Fans can say what they want about Porl and Reeves as standout guitar players, but Perry's sloppy left handed playing style added real character depth to the sounds of the songs that sets them apart from all other performances. This era and gong into the early 2000's was my favorite Cure lineup. When you have musicians who want to be there, it makes a difference for the better.

Was introduced to the cure when I was 13.. Disintegration came out when I was 15. I remember going to the mall and getting it on (cassette tape). Lol
This song has gone from (just a really good listen ) in my teens , when I was trying to be Absolutely (( ANYTHING)) but normal ..
To the Intoxicating anthem, of my Amazing, & euphoric 20s ..
It was there in my 30’s .during my years of Simple contentment and joy of being a father ….
went threw painful divorce after 18 yr marriage.. in my 40’s and it was there , (ready to transform, again.. by helping me remember who I was (and helped me find myself again)…
Turned 50 last year… I don’t know why , but I find it almost (((( IMPOSSIBLE )))) to Listen to this song, without an Overwhelming flood of emotions, and tears……it’s not sad or happy tears.. but a little of both sprinkled with feelings of reflection, nostalgia, acceptance)
etc…. I’m not sure what it all means, just Extremely Glad that life where is your little keys , gems ( like this song).. That allow you ( if only for a moment) .. Remember how it feels to feel
