He completely turned that around when he mentioned the £3 per canister gas cost saving. Looks like a very interesting product. As much as I love fire, if I'm going camping or hiking I don't really want to use sticks to cook my food.
It was wise of deborah in this case because the pitcher outright stated she was his pick, however she forgot Peter mentioned having offices in Asia and the pitcher ended up valuing that more than teaming up with idol deborah
We're all greedy. Even the pitcher went for the offer that he thought would benefit him most. He turned down the extra 15k because he believed that Peter would help make him a lot more than that.
So what ? Peter could trample aii over her if he wished and made her undestand that at the very end when he jokingly told Deborah that she should have taken his offer. LOL. In passing this stove isn't very good. It heats but doesn't cook and the heat produced isn't enough to charge for more than one phone (item) at a time..... To recharge a GoPro battery you need to run the gas on for hours and it would be so much more effective to take a second battery with you. Its in fact NOT much better than a solar powered charger. Its one of those things that looks and sounds good but that doesn't actually work. it'll make millions though before people realise that it doesn't work because most "campers" buy this kind of gadget and then never use it.
I’d rather have the BioLite, At least you can use that as a camping stove & a fire pit which at least gives you a reason to hang around it and plug your phone in for a while. Why would you want to hang a round a gas stove?🤦🏼♂️ other than whilst you’re cooking food which won’t be for very long at all.

Peter and Deborah had a long time in the show with peter being one of the bigger dragons and being involved in technology and owning big facilities is what makes him better in this matter. And Deborah is also great in general. For me everyone of them have more understanding about specific things but deborah and peter are better in what they do and they have very wide openings in their regards
That comes mostly from his personality - people who have done business with him would describe him as fair. Which is important - you don't want a business partner who would squeeze you and toss you away, with first sign of trouble. Like some of the Dragons , like Duncan and Tej have done to partners. I mean the guy was in serious debt, could have gone the Trump way and declared bankruptcy - he would have been fine and a lot of people would have lost money and jobs. Instead he worked and payed the debts off.......
Peter’s got great respect for Deborah and there’s this genuine ‘business chemistry’ between them. They’re both usually comfortable doing deals together.
From what I can see it has been a monumental flop. Peter may still advertise it, but I don't think he is involved any more. Prob just forgot to update his web page.
Peter lended a hand to Deborah and she rejected it. He is clearly the best and most powerful dragon in there so if he don't do something like that he could get all the deals alone
Not really no just because he has the most money doesn’t mean he is powerful each dragon have their own area of expertise and personally if I was there with hesitation on I would have chosen Touker passion to me means much more than what Peter would have offered who seemed full of himself he already thought he would get chosen
A Sad Story The Teg stove as a brand met its demise a couple of years ago through bad business models, its high price tag and the blunder of not being able to sell it at a profit for retailers meaning it was literally impossible to sell for any retailer, subsequently as you can guess the product flopped in just under a year. at the time it retailed for £150 and cost £120 to trade +Vat, you had to buy a minimum of 6 at a time and it cost £25 for delivery. meaning even in the best case scenario any retailer may just about break-even after selling all his stock. A year later Teg stove vanished from ourselves, the last remaining ones where snapped up at a fraction of the manufacturing cost and the Teg Stove was resigned to memory in guys like myself that we're lucky enough to get their hands on one
Thank you for the detailed update, Aaron - much appreciated. That does look to be a real shame. It did look a very compact and efficient stove. Looks like Peter could not get traction at his development centre in Hong Kong - IIRC, the entrepreneur specifically asked which of the Dragons might help improve the manufacturing => price point. I have to think, that Touka might have been the better man on this one, given his outsourcing expertise. It was clear that outsourcing manufacture was going to happen, whether by Peter or by Touka. Seems Peter did not get the unit cost down by much. A pity.

Because he doesn't get out of bed for less than 50% and basically he's in the rag trade.
Jez I AM some expensive rags mate
But can you imagine working with him? I think he could be quite unpleasant.
Touka is actually a decent guy but hates Peter and Deborah simply because they can be arrogant being the longest serving dragons.
He’s worth 200mil
I'd like to put you and my girl together" - steady on Touker!
Lol, the thing one can say when focused or carried away with their job
Gotta love the fact he's said girl! Really he should have said woman, but perhaps the choice of wording goes to indicate his "view' of that particular female.
This has to be one of my Faves, love a good invention with some healthy competition!
I always find Sarah quite respectful in these kind of pitches, she knows what she knows as well as what she doesn't and doesn't want to waste people's time
I really feel very sorry for Touker sometimes. That was a slap in the face on the back of a brilliant offer. Mr Jones is clearly the MAN....
First time I've heard Touker say he'll personally fly to china with him to make that deal. A millionaire like him and with how valuable his time is, Touker really must have seen the value of this product.
I understand why Peter is most peoples' first choice most of the time, but surely Deborah would have been a better choice for this product? She was so enthusiastic about it too!
Looks like the company went under last year. Can't see that Jones ever invested.
Always best going with the man. They are less easily distracted than women.

Peter and Touker could have worked together. Feel sorry Touker missed out. Never seen him pitch so hard. Peter and Deborah always the favorites.
Deborah's reach exceeded her grasp. Touker's desperation to fly to China with this guy he's just met is funny
Peter played that like a game of chess. Hes the best in there
Yea he really playes this investment show as a chess game. You can tell he really enjoys it and is good at it.
This by FAR has the most intense appeal to drawing out far out offers and desire I have ever seen. They did not ask as much questions but were rather hungry drooling animals for the meal. WOW absolutely wow. This gets me excited
His pitch was nervous shaky but his answers to their questions were sharp and genuine.

Companies House - late filing accounts - active proposal to strike off
I'm guessing the blighter has not succeeded and will be struck off?
Bit odd. According to www.peterjones.com/peter-jones-portfolio/tegstove/, the company is actually called TEGOLOGY LTD. That's being struck off too.
Looks like it sank - main website is dead, can't find the product in any retail capacity. Oh well.
It was just that first part of each bit. Once he remembers the beginning he's rolling fine.
“U should’ve taken my offer Deborah”. Salt on the wound 🤣
Got to be a great feeling as an entrepreneur getting the dragons pitching to you.
I love Deborah. She clearly wanted it and the second she lost she looked at Peter and smiled
I feel like the only other person who likes Deborah.

Having seen a lot of Dragons Den episodes lately, I'm feeling that Peter and Debra are just too strong a force for the other Dragons. Arguably, Touker's offer was the most financially attractive, and, he also had the business background. Now I don't fault Peter or Debra, and perhaps it's a lesson for the other Dragons to up their game... but it seems clear to me that entrepreneurs are probably already hoping for Peter and/or Debra before they've even entered the Den. Can that be fair?...
Have you ever heard of a reality TV show that was fair?
@@tessjuel good point
This is one of the rare occasions where the Dragons seemed like they were pitching for the business!
Probably the most successful pitch on the show. To have them fighting over it.
I love that man he is humble and gentle and real. And shy!! Nice :) such good qualities
You like shy men?
I would have gone Touker for sure, the dude would be so great to work with. I know the others are about money and I like Peter but this one should be Toukers
Ouchhh Debra had that coming to her, she often snubs other dragons especially Jenny Campbell when she was part of the line-up. Hilarious 🤣
Touker you are an inspiration. If someone like you can make money in the fashion industry anyone can.
😂
When Peter told Debra that’s why I asked if you wanted 50% coz I knew you wanted it, now you won’t get it. Was the coldest moment in den history. Peter is a G
Ngl if I was in his position I don’t know who to pick, tookers offer was very very good
The thought of being sat on a plane with Touker for 11 hours is genuinly not appealing.

Largest industry for them to sell to, he just misspoke
He meant Phishing.
And here I was thinking it was between oil, arms and narcotics (which shows where our real priorities lie)
surely electronics or food. even his product is in both markets
Nice, I can’t really afford one, but it is a good product. I hope he does well.
He completely turned that around when he mentioned the £3 per canister gas cost saving. Looks like a very interesting product. As much as I love fire, if I'm going camping or hiking I don't really want to use sticks to cook my food.
'I'm gonna be greedy on this one'
Summed up the dragons perfectly that in a nutshell.
Deborah was furious that Peter countered her insult at the end, she won't forget that.
@@team3383 Yeah what!
The best I've seen in a long time. Congratulations to all concerned.
Can you imagine what kind of excuse Jenny would have to make to be out on this one.
no. please tell
"Your product is a gas burner which makes fires. I think emergency services have enough to worry about at the moment in COVID-19 without teenagers lighting fires in their homes to charge their phones. * walks over to gas burner, turns it to low setting, and blows it out * I'm out."
Tom Burns this is so beautiful 😂
Tom Burns: can honestly hear her saying that 😆😆 anything to not invest.
Never understood why Jenny gets all the jokes aimed at her when she has made 8 investments. The dragon that NEVER invested (sorry they did once ) was simon woodruff who would say, 'this is great I love you don't stop 'etc etc then not invest
Peter always gets the deal he wants, i´m starting to feel sorry for the other dragons...
He’s the best negotiator there
Not always, he's lost out to Deborah on quite a few occasions. I'd say it's the Peter and Deborah show ,they seem to get most of the deals
@@wordyword.298 I miss theo and duncan tho

Peter’s got great respect for Deborah and there’s this genuine ‘business chemistry’ between them. They’re both usually comfortable doing deals together.
It's obvoius Touker and Deborah have a dislike of one another when you look at some episodes.
Yep and clashing industries. Touker is very likeable though. Deborah is clueless about tech, she is just Mrs Patent and Go =)
So it keeps you warm, cooks your food and charges your phone, greatest invention ever
Touker should of gotten this one. He is so genuine.
What a refreshing episode! Dragons pitted against each other and four different offers on the table.

3:48 Peter in 10 seconds, did the pitch! He is the man!
This is the best of the Dragons Den.
What a great guy. Happy for him.

Peter and Debra are just the kind of investors I'll love to have on my team. I just love them both. ❤
A Sad Story
The Teg stove as a brand met its demise a couple of years ago through bad business models, its high price tag and the blunder of not being able to sell it at a profit for retailers meaning it was literally impossible to sell for any retailer, subsequently as you can guess the product flopped in just under a year.
at the time it retailed for £150 and cost £120 to trade +Vat, you had to buy a minimum of 6 at a time and it cost £25 for delivery.
meaning even in the best case scenario any retailer may just about break-even after selling all his stock.
A pity.
