Im actually really glad this worked out. Not everyone has to take things so seriously in order to do good work. Also i do see a product there, although 50-60 poinds sounds like any good installer could make it themselves for that, but that will come down in time.
Well, it isn't technically a country but it is an emirate with it's own ruler and separate rules than the other emirates, so it does operate like a country. It's an easy mistake to make. I worked out there bit a bit and each emirate can be quite different.
As an installer it’s definitely an issue and Syncbox solves it, although to be fair we were solving it without syncbox too, at the cost of time and some ingenuity
I paid a whooping £65 for one of these SyncBoxes! The body's now even a cheap all plastic product appose to the galvanised steel build that's featured on Dragon's Den. I paid £65 for something that should have cost £20 maximum! I feel ripped off, but unfortunately when installing a portrait OLED there's no other product out there that offers a recessed socket so they've got all the market share. I'm happy for these guys to make a successful product. It's just a shame it's extortionately expensive.
8:46 This Dragon has never had to install a tv and he also has never had to figure out how to hide the cables. These guys made this product because they live with this dilemma every day. I bet they tested it out on lots of flatscreens to get just the right dimensions. I'm just glad that Deborah had faith in them, I love the innovation. Yes, it's a simple box. But it fulfills a vacancy that everyone needs. Also, these guys are fantastic, movie star quality charisma!
That's the keyword; BEGINNING. Notice how the guy in blue was upset they didn't talk it out before Duncan accepted. If Duncan is keen on stepping over his business partner and act compulsively, I can't imagine that partnership lasting long. This has nothing to do with the product. I'm sure the product is selling well. I'm talking about the fact that these two could have terminated their partnership and the blue guy most likely asked to be bought out of the business.
that goes in really deep. you'll have to dig out so much brickwork that you'll end up in the cavaty wall though, not sure if its safe to have exposed wires there.
Some of the Dragons often have too much paperwork experience and lack the practical skills to even understand products that provide practical solutions. They should get their hands dirty a bit more. Well done to two working class gentlemen in securing Deborah's backing. Seems to me an excellent product, I'm always struggling with wires.
No way did I just get an advert about a company Jenny invested in. The official DD channel really got sick of the comments they had to put ads of Jenny on talking about her companies 🤣🤣🤣
Been using recessed sockets for years, it stops fingers from being able to go behind the plug by accident when un plugging something, yes it takes some chasing out to move the box back a bit in an old wall, but this is more than possible with a standard patress box and some DIY know how in a new build, nothing that stops you recess fitting a flush fit box at all
They are doing really well. The deal was done (not just on TV, but it really came to fruition). Today in 2024, they have 25 employees, and an annual sales revenue of nearly 7 million pounds. Good for them!
On Deborah's own site there is a link to the company but all that appears is a dodgy Chinese/Indonesian site selling t-shirts. The company is dormant rather than dissolved, this has been the case for several years so the company is not trading.

I guess the main point of contention is the difference between 30% and 35%. With 3 people (the 2 guys and deborah), 35% would mean she owns more than any other individual while 30% means she is still in the territory of “major investor”
They are actually very smart with negotiations, see they way they brought sarah into it to create ‘competition’ for Deborah, even though then knew they wouldn’t need sarah
I think it has a lot of potential in hotels and real estate because you imagine a hotel uses one per room for 700 rooms. And you get 1000 hotels to all do it. It’s the kind of idea that can just multiply quickly. I’m wishing them the best.
Debra :" what was the 20k spent on?"
"Teeth"
Sex n drugs n rock n roll
They were 27th in the UKs top 100 Start Ups league. That’s very impressive.
They had ceased trading when you wrote your comment 4-5 years ago.
One of them is alot happier to have given away 30% than the other.
She said 35% and all the money.
It can be really difficult negotiating with multiple dragons at the same time without alienating one of them. These guys did about as well as I've seen anyone do it.
this is a really good idea, as a builder its a real pain, you end up having to bury cables in the wall, which is fine (though expensive) until you want to change any part of the system

Ok so Dragons Den randomly.popped up on my recommended the other day, and I haven't watched in years but not only do I enjoy the show but seeing these Jenny is out jokes have brightened up my day and gave me such great laughs so much so that when the video starts, I go straight to the comments section 😁
This didn't age well for the dragons, they sound more like dinosaurs, of course we want our nice flat TV flush against the wall as possible
Good point.
Seriously, past success does not guarantee future wins. The American Dragons (Sharks) all passed on Ring Doorbell. How'd that work out? lol
@@jasoneverett Ring took SHITLOADS of capital to get off the ground, though. The kind of capital that the US sharks wouldn’t have invested without seeing any real ROI first.
Two of them assessed correctly: there is a problem, but their product is literally just a box.
@@jasoneverett true, but i think part of r in g doorbell success due to its usefulness to a surveillance state. I think that's true of a lot of big biz in the good ole usa
Thats how you make a pitch. They are so down to earth, honest, and themselves. People love to see the human behind the business.
The reminded me of every ex-pat I've ever met who ran a business, they are not to be trusted, it's all an act.
Im actually really glad this worked out. Not everyone has to take things so seriously in order to do good work. Also i do see a product there, although 50-60 poinds sounds like any good installer could make it themselves for that, but that will come down in time.
3:01 "Countries like Dubai" LOL. Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates.
hahahaha
Well, it isn't technically a country but it is an emirate with it's own ruler and separate rules than the other emirates, so it does operate like a country. It's an easy mistake to make. I worked out there bit a bit and each emirate can be quite different.
@@joebish6629 but its still a state
it's like saying "countries like Scotland." He's KINDA right in a way, so u can let it slide.
Brinko! Scotland is a country
20 pounds? They didn’t even pay 20 yuan to have it made in China, I promise you that

Del Boy and Rodney have nothing on these two.

They’ll be millionaires by Christmas
8:46 This Dragon has never had to install a tv and he also has never had to figure out how to hide the cables. These guys made this product because they live with this dilemma every day. I bet they tested it out on lots of flatscreens to get just the right dimensions. I'm just glad that Deborah had faith in them, I love the innovation. Yes, it's a simple box. But it fulfills a vacancy that everyone needs. Also, these guys are fantastic, movie star quality charisma!
Watching just the beggining, these two have some serious Bromance energy here.
He seems pretty p*ssed that his partner didn't allow him to negotiate further. Doesn't even shake his hand at 16:51 .

Some of the Dragons often have too much paperwork experience and lack the practical skills to even understand products that provide practical solutions. They should get their hands dirty a bit more. Well done to two working class gentlemen in securing Deborah's backing. Seems to me an excellent product, I'm always struggling with wires.

Oh man i wanted to see that. I didnt get it.
hahah I got the same Ad
TH-cam decides what ads to put on based on your activity. You got a Jenny ad because you are watching a Jenny video
Deborah was the number 1 choice hands down. She has so much experience in these types of retail.. fantastic 😁😁😁
Been using recessed sockets for years, it stops fingers from being able to go behind the plug by accident when un plugging something, yes it takes some chasing out to move the box back a bit in an old wall, but this is more than possible with a standard patress box and some DIY know how in a new build, nothing that stops you recess fitting a flush fit box at all
Saw the title and knew I needed to watch this which I haven't done yet.. but some things you know you're gonna enjoy watching!
Just completed a total renovation.
This product is not needed they call them flat sockets. And no need for big holes in walls.
Looking at their dilated pupils and relaxed demeanor, I'm fairly certain they've smoked a doobie before the pitch

They are doing really well. The deal was done (not just on TV, but it really came to fruition). Today in 2024, they have 25 employees, and an annual sales revenue of nearly 7 million pounds. Good for them!
The company has been dissolved.
On Deborah's own site there is a link to the company but all that appears is a dodgy Chinese/Indonesian site selling t-shirts. The company is dormant rather than dissolved, this has been the case for several years so the company is not trading.
