Nope go to Ceos buy cargo ship that can land on medium , go to Sothis system next to it a deliver from Sothis to Ceos, (8,9Ly) and u can make some real money.. for ex. 180t of gold, one jump and here u go ...10mil of credits .. just EZ :)
Fortunately it's very easy to gain Rear Admiral rank these days by running rescue missions. Find a station that has been attacked by Thargoids in Federal space and pick up passengers from the Federation faction and then dump them off at the local rescue ship. Sometimes systems where rescue is needed are not marked as Federal, but they may still have Federation factions on the stations. Enjoy that Corvette after a few days of grind. It's not horrible. My tip is to exhaust the passengers (1 run), log off for 30 minutes and do something else, log back on and there will be new passengers. Or you can jump to other attacked systems and sort of set up a rotation and eventually come back to where you started.
Yeah, I spent 2-3 weeks just doing rescue missions. Kinda burned myself out after a while and haven't been on ED since I got the 'vette, I think of it as a nice present for when I go back to it soon. Inara is damn good for figuring that stuff out, finding the right stations and everything, really helpful.

yeah now imagine already having Vette and realizing for Thargoid combat you would prefer the Cutter ... yes i have BOTH now and grind for both ranks and A-grading both ships was ... actually not that bad as i did it by long distance passenger ferrying which is back in the day was 15 minutes of boardhopping followed by 40+minutes of AFK flight for +-80 mil per trip (and i used Vette for the Cutter grind too :) ) sadly i heard boardhopping is no longer a thing (didnt play for almost a year ...) so that way wont work anymore

I just recently became a Corvette pilot myself. When I first saw it in the list of available ships first thing I fell in love with was its sleek militaristic design. Then I saw that it had two huge hard points. After much grind, and much upgrading (still upgrading, still modding) I am pleased with the ship despite its shortcomings.
Go to sothis and Ceos. I got from Ensign (Gunship Rank) to Rear Admiral in ONE DAY (Yesterday). Just grind data deliveries and donations. And don't give up.

Proud to say i finished the Fed Rank grind today, and bought a Federal Corvette, and i can say in all honesty, after a few months of on and off grindind, it is 100% worth it, it handles like a dream to be so big, it lays down pretty respectable if not unbelievable damage, and can tank hits for hours, i can finally start going into haz res and holding my own against anything.
3 important points on this video - (1) it is the best review so far, (2) it has the top 2 Elite streamers/content creators in it, (3) It has the best blooper reel ever, LMAO.... Absolutly the best so far, Great Job Yamiks, will re-watch many times... Yamiks and Mini = absolute hilarity!

My guess is they will be armed for defense, besides Carriers made Battleships obsolete anyway irl who's to say a Fleet Carrier couldn't take on one of the capital ships, also theres line between Endgame and bullshit ok, imagine if a troll gets their hands on a Farragut? You know what would happen? They could kill any ship with 100% immunity, besides it took me 3-4 days to grind Fed ranks to get the corvette grinding for a Farragut would be hell and frankly, I think id rather kill my self than endure the hell that is the Federal/Imperial rank grind Oh I just remembered, they said there will be different carriers for various tasks, so im sure there will be a combat based one, whether it be for equipping and rearming Combat ships or actually built for combat itself, for example being able to drop into a combat zone or resource extraction site or what have you. If looking to grind for this ship, i recommend taking a large cargo ship to Sothis/Ceos and space trucking between the 2 systems to gain rank. Its way faster than doing the data courier missions, and always choose the reward with the most Reputation.
Yes the Federal Corvette is the ultimate ED combat ship hands down! Sure the Conda has more DPS but it's more difficult to bring all your weapons to bear and the Vette is more agile and has better shields too. The sheer destructive power of those two huge hard points is a sight to behold and will melt any and all enemies in seconds. Just a pity it's locked behind a soul destroying GRIND that will likely see you lose the will to play the game before you reach Rear Admiral and finally unlock it. As MIni said the problem of cowardly enemies running at the first sight of this beast is easily solved by G5 DD AND you have the SLF to harass them while you boost into firing range. It's worth noting that there are still TWO more ranks above Rear Admiral/Duke so at some point FD is sure to introduce even bigger Fed and Imperial ships so it might be a good idea to grind those final two ranks to "future proof" yourself. I Have a Vette and currently grinding for the Cutter even though I don't particularly care for it but at this point I figure I might as well own every damn ship in the game. In the end nothing is going to beat the fact that you can fly your very own Imperial Star Destroyer and if that doesn't float your boat then you are NOT a true sci fi fan!

Yeah, I have an anaconda built for multi purpose but heavily leaning on the combat side. You know, fuel, recon and repair limpets, tank biweave, srv. I pretty much live in my Stahlherz so I need to make her a jack of all trades. Corvettes are so wonderful in combat.
Thing I like about my Corvette is when driving up to it in the river, or calling it down to land. You really get a sense of scale then. This thing is huge.
The jumprange needs some getting used to after you had the anaconda, but with a decent grade 5 engineering roll, and a 5A fuel scoop it's good enough even for cross bubble routes.
First time i came into contact with a Corvette in person i was in a Diamondback, I wish i could remember her name to give the Pilot props, but i was trying to partake in a trade hauling event in my first week so i was on my way to the starport with no inv because all i wanted to do was get my respawn to the port. I was waylaid by the star beacon predictability (I didn't know to expect this at the time) and all i got were spamming messages saying "surrender all goods and you will remain unharmed" after about ten seconds they say "Oh im sorry you don't have shit" and could tell i was a noob by my responses and gave me a lot of great tips! plus i met them later and they actually used me as bait! People like her made me decide this game's community alone is amazing idc if its in beta!
I got my Corvette yesterday. The last of the Big 3. I immediately painted it black and named it 'Diablos'. Makes sense with the two Class 4 hardpoints.
That into alone has me sold. I've got the Anaconda and Cutter, but it looks like I'm going to have to go grind some Fed Ranks now because neither one are as badass as that.

First time i came into contact with a Corvette in person i was in a Diamondback, I wish i could remember her name to give the Pilot props, but i was trying to partake in a trade hauling event in my first week so i was on my way to the starport with no inv because all i wanted to do was get my respawn to the port. I was waylaid by the star beacon predictability (I didn't know to expect this at the time) and all i got were spamming messages saying "surrender all goods and you will remain unharmed" after about ten seconds they say "Oh im sorry you don't have shit" and could tell i was a noob by my responses and gave me a lot of great tips! plus i met them later and they actually used me as bait! People like her made me decide this game's community alone is amazing idc if its in beta!
I just got mine to Robigo. Now it is a very interesting tour ship. Gotta love the giant fuel scoop!

I got my Corvette yesterday. The last of the Big 3.
I immediately painted it black and named it 'Diablos'. Makes sense with the two Class 4 hardpoints.
