"Do you know what it's like to deal with a crying child," said to someone who deals with Karens and adult toddlers all the time. Oh, the irony.
"Does it involve throwing wine bottles and breaking the glass all over the floor, because I don't think it would help that situation any more than its helping you in this one."
"It said CAUTION and I was very careful"
impossible to argue against
I might have asked her, "And what in particular, do you think that tape was advising you to be cautious for?"
Give them a sticky note. "Here's Your Sign"
I work in retail and honestly, that was a really good comeback lmao. I wouldn't even be mad. Well played.
Right?! I couldn’t even be annoyed
She should be a politician, that’s usually their concept of logic.
Story 3: I hear a lot of stories about raging people on a plane, and honestly, it really sucks when you have a loudmouth on the plane making everyone miserable, so I'm glad OP shut that guy up
🎉😮😮😮😢😮😅😅 21:42

Story 4: If what Karen said about her daughter crying for more than an hour, I see where she got that from...
Or chances are Karen was lying about her daughter, since she made up some bs story about op attacking her daughter.
Story 4 - OP should NEVER have let that woman into the back stock room. OP should’ve told the woman to leave and she didn’t leave then call Security.
Story 4: I bet the entitled mother exaggerated her 4yo daughter's distress as a pretext for throwing her own tantrum.
Hopefully the father is a good dad and able to deal with being a single parent for a few months.
Story 4: Definitely mental illness is involved. I can't imagine a sane person getting destructive over a doll that is not in stock, why would you want to throw your life away over an inconvenience.
Out of Stock means Out of Stock, one does not wish for an item to just materialize out of thin air
Many, *many* of these stories involve people with mental illnesses, disabilities, or dementia, but the "mental health" reddit crowd doesn't recognise that people other than themselves can have issues.
Not mental illness per say, but rather unwilling to accept the truth. People like her tend to think stores will magically restock itself if they scream hard enough. That’s why there’s a video of a Karen yelling about false advertising at a Subways when they ran out of meatballs. That wasn’t false advertising, but rather part of supply and demand, something that I’m sure a newborn would understand better than her. Stores, especially restaurants have limited supply for a day or certain amount of time, which is what these fail to understand.
Unfortunately, mental illness probably wasn't involved. Just plain old entitlement. That's why I never go to a grand opening or Black Friday shopping. The Karens abound.
And the tool to see the stocking that she threw on the ground : this little guys is valued in the 10k $. We don't realise it, but sometime we work with highly valued object. The little promoted doll could cost her a lot of money.
And OP manager is right : a client in an unauthorized section is a security (and so insurance too) liability.
For the mental illness : it's not the clearest story for that. Definitively, she need to be followed for some anger/emotion management. But sadly, if she has done this since she was young because her parent was shutting her up with a reward when she did a tentrum, the habit might be unremoveable.
Or drugs. Lots of these crazy Karens are high.
The moment ANYONE grabs someone, such as in story 2, dont THREATEN calling the cops. CALL the cops and have that person charged and trespassed. I am lucky I live in a country where laws are in place to even protect retail workers and its not up to the person that has been assaulted, the police will look at the footage and if they see evidence of assault they will arrest.
Story 3 - The guy likely thought OP worked for the IRS.
Pretty much the same thing happened to us when we were doing a major remodel of our bakery. There was construction going on everywhere in the middle of summer with the heat making it a must to leave the doors open. I was in the front area trying to get some equipment out of the way so that a big delivery of new equipment could come in when some older man come right in and asks "Are you open?" I was a little stunned and asked him "Do we look open?" He started yelling at me that I was being rude and then stormed out.
There was a similar story here on the Tube some time ago about a customer who showed up at a Burger King that was on fire. He was put out at the firemen because he couldn't get his Whopper (flame broiled, no less!).
Story 2 OP didn't get a day old COFFEE offered to him. DUH!!! He got a day old pastry.
Came to say this, I don't want to imagine a day old coffee 🤢
Agreed, though a day pastry doesn't sound too bad.
Touching strangers, especially suddenly ESPECIALLY agressively............... That's an open invitation for that person to defend him/herself.
Story 3 - 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Bravo OP! Way to put an EI not only in his place but to shut him up as well.
Just say "Federal Government" and he suddenly becomes a mute ghost, priceless. "Sir, I work for the Federal Government that can ruin your entire life by making you Jobless. Now, sit down and shut up or you won't HAVE a job to help you pay your bills." I know they probably don't do that, but I was trying to make an example.
Story 5: Once some people get started, they just pick up momentum. I recently had to take a call from an angry customer where I work, and she went on this 10 minute rant about how her card was declined, he information was stolen and used elsewhere, and she couldn't stand it that people would get up right behind her in line and place their items so close to hers. The last was so bothersome to her that not only did she keep repeating it, she insisted we should do something about making sure other customers give her space. As if we can control them like that any more than she would like to be. She's also threatening to never shop here again if we don't (and since she has a reputation for being nasty, all I'm thinking is "Is that a promise you intend to keep?) Meanwhile, I have a job to get back to, customers patiently waiting, and they can see I'm not enjoying this so they don't complain. I just keep trying to sound polite, let her know I'm listening, and trying to find the right thing to say that will end this. Eventually I decide to just bite the bullet and say, "Ma'am, I don't want to interrupt, but I have customers waiting and really need to get back to work." To my shock, she actually takes that rather well. As if it only just occurred to her that she's preventing me from doing my work, or she was just finally done venting, but yeah it felt super awkward when I could finally give others my attention.
Allow them to vent is something I was taught in customer service decades ago. You cannot help angry people, so let them get the anger out first and then when they are tired of yelling you can try and help them. Works well, but sucks to have to listen to, especially if it's not even your fault. Management was just a pain in general lol.
I agree with Ishlacorrin. Sometimes, people just gotta ramble on before you can properly help 'em out.
I currently work in customer service. Moved between four different departments so far and when I was Service Desk, there was one customer dude who f-bombed around the whole time on me and an associate I'd asked to help me with loading his stuff. We didn't have everything he'd ordered in right away and ready, but my coworker who'd thrown out some "I understand"s to him, she and I managed to receive a very sincere apology at the end from him. My secret weapon: pushing positivity back IN DROVES. As much as he was angry, that's how much pleasantness and happy energy at helping him that I threw back. He mellowed out soon and said sorry to us. Made my day tbh. ^^
See lol the old lady was right shut up Sonny! 😂😋
To the response to the 3rd story. Saying you were a postal worker used to be a big threat. Back when going postal was a thing.
just say you work for the government. it still works.
Postal workers were and still are treated like shit.
@@mrbuttocks6772 And they are not in the US federal workers, haven't been since they privatized the USPS years ago.
They are heavily regulated by the Fed but not part of.
From Fed week
Are postal workers considered federal employees?
USPS positions are not traditional federal jobs since the USPS is not a federal agency (it is considered a quasi-government agency). There are more than 30,000 USPS facilitate across the country, 500,000+ employees, and good benefits such as health insurance, good pay, and a pension plan
@@GhostRider-sc9vumy husband is a recently retired USPS worker. Generally, management is pretty bad, and more than once, I’ve been so thankful the workers are unionized! They can take their issues with bosses to their union reps to make formal complaints. Pay and benefits aren’t nearly as good as they were years ago, though. Be nice to your mail carriers! They work hard! 🙏

Title: Karen destroys a store over a toy
Me: Of course she did 🤦🏻♂️
and this is unusual Karen behavior.....how?
She can hopefully consider her idiocy in jail. 😒
Insert Black Friday joke here
OP also went against store rule to never bring anybody into the warehouse.
I used to work at a gas station in a miniscule village (population less than 50 people) that was put into an old restaurant building that sat on the side of the major highway that everyone had to travel on to head north. The old giant restaurant sign had been taken down off the pole, but was left in the parking lot but the side with the letters was facing up to the sky so you would have to climb up to see that it said restaurant on it. We also had a sign that said Gas Station on the building. The owner had left a few old booths from the old restaurant along the wall with windows as truckers sometimes like to come get some coffee and sit for a bit or even get some snacks or premade sandwiches. You could see the old restaurant's kitchen that was now all dusty and filled with boxes of old stuff from the restaurant, so it was very clear that the kitchen was not in operation. There were also no menu boards out or menus or anything else that would say that we were operating a restaurant.
So one day a family just walks in and sits in a booth and stares at me. I greet them and ask if I can help them. They ask why I haven't brought over the menus yet and I tell them that is because the old restaurant that used to be here closed years ago, so now it was only a gas station. The parents insisted that it should be no trouble for me to just grab some food and make something for them really quick. I again told them that this was not a restaurant, plus the kitchen has not been used in years, does not work, and is filled with boxes. So their only choice is the premade sandwiches we have in the fridge or they can drive 30 minutes to the east to a bigger town that had a few restaurants to pick from. They left very quickly after that as I made no move to get out from behind the counter by the front door.
I've gotten very snarky since my business folded and I retired.
If someone approaches me now a days and says, "I've been waiting for you!" I always answer..."Sorry, common misconception but...I'm not Jesus and I haven't come again!"
Story 1: There was a guy on radio one time who came up with the ultimate name for these people: obliviots. A contraction of oblivious +idiots. I thought it was great and unfortunately use it often.
Story 1: How can someone be that oblivious! I dying laughing here!
Many people just dont care and are that self centered
Old store building + people wearing hard hat walking in and out = "honey! the old store is reopening!"
@@gorilladisco9108She had to of been oblivious AND blind if she assumed people wearing Hard Hats worked at "not-yet-open" store....
@@JadenYukifan28 That's why her husband/boyfriend said, "I told you."
@@gorilladisco9108 Oh, I know that, I was just saying that to a "normal" person, it would be obvious that there was a building there....
Story 4: Daughter comes in and finds out that the doll is out of stock, check.
Mother comes in TWO hours later, check
Mother then claims that the daughter has been crying for an hour, che... wait, whut? This sounds more like something the Mother did than the fact the kid had to wait a day. Just sayin'
The Entitled Mother may have lied just to see if OP would bend to her will. She was an idiot and from how she acted when the Police handcuffed her, she may have done this before.
Construction zone story: Karen was lucky she wasn't closed fist backhanded. Yet again we see the need for us "normal" people to carry business cards for local optometry shops to hand out to "blind" Karens.
Coffee shop story: Sorry, but once Karen grabbed me by the shirt, she'd have been eating a knuckle sandwich and SHE still would have been the one to go to jail as I would have simply been defending myself.
Doll story: OP, I hope this taught you to NEVER attempt to placate a Karen. You should have contacted your boss immediately and let him handle the situation with Karen. There are some places where at a minimum you would have been fired for taking Karen in the back and others would have even held you responsible for the damages she did while there.
K-Mart story: It's not that hard to spot actual employees in most stores, even ones without formal uniform items. It does, however, require that you use your eyes and brain.
I really hope that was a day old doughnut or muffin, not a day old coffee.
Good Lord all that for a doll, the woman needs to grow up because it is truly pathetic that a woman at her age is having a two year old temper tantrum. My cousin’s daughter wouldn’t behave like that in a store and she is only eight years old.
I love how Dark Fluff makes these stories even more entertaining
LOVE Story 5!! 😂❤ It should be a standard rule for anyone dealing with a Karen that if one tells you to "shut up", then go ahead and "shut up". When they're done becoming blue in the face and ask why you won't say nothing, write out on a big piece of paper in bold lettering "ma'am/sir, you told me to shut up". I think doing that in front of an audience will help win a likely court case handily. LOL!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Worse, the Aggressive Man might think OP works for the IRS...

How old was that Karen of the toy story? Was she 5 or 25? I wonder, because she threw a tantrum worthy of a 5 year old.
Most five year olds know better. 🤨
Yes-25 in body and 5 upstairs.

8:17 Technically, _technically_ she should have been under arrest for assault _and_ battery, harrasment, and uttering threats. Grabbing her shirt upgraded the assault to battery. Assault is the threat, battery is the touching 😉
Love how a karen sees a cop and instantly shouts that they were assaulted despite there being cameras everywhere nowadays that instantly disprove false claims like that
This is the second time I've heard story 4 but it seems like some kind of mental issues with that lady
Victim complexes, just make up anything to get them on your side
@@f687sNFMCops only instantly believe it when the victim is black/non white and the agressor claiming assault is white.
Honestly surprised that person was not fired who took the woman to the back warehouse area. Most places have strict rules about that since it's not covered on their insurance. If I was her boss, I probably would have let her go, sadly.
I literally just said this in another comment like I've worked in warehouses and you don't ever for OSHA reasons bring people in the back if the crazy lady had pulled that crap out of the main floor that's one thing but by letting her in the back the op of that story was directly responsible for everything that happened back there
Some people are definitely Darwin Awards waiting to happen.
I came to saw the same thing.
Which BE AMAZED will happliy add for another video
Story 1: Pretty sure anyone who can't distinguish between "store" and "construction zone" shouldn't be allowed in public without a minder.
Sometimes, stupid has just gotta stupid.
Karen: Sweep the patio! I will not ask again!
OP: Oh good, thanks for no longer asking me to do what I don't have to do...
Story 2: It always surprises me how people have the audacity to just grab people; it's like they conveniently forget that you are not allowed to touch people and that people have a right to self defense once attacked.
A "Free day old" is a donut not old coffee.
The 3 red story is the typical case where the whole situation explodes just because the employee thinks they know better than the rules that exist for a reason, and usually cause a whole legal problem to their employer because they wont follow the rules they clearly known.
Story 2: Some people just never learn to KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF.
Happy, happy Sunday, everyone!
Happy Monday
Like, even if they were a store, they're clearly not going to be open in that state.
Wooooow, she bumped your leg, sir? How could that ever happen? OH WAIT, I KNOW, YOUR LEG WAS IN THE AISLE. Do you do that so that when the inevitable happens, you have an excuse to demand compensation, and a pretty poor one at that?
Why would you think that? At this point, she's already on the hook for throwing the terminal to the ground.
Story 2: "the pranks you kids these days pull" makes it sounds like she has a habit of just picking someone at random and deciding they work there.
To be fair, I would be VERY tempted to prank her.
Karens always get worse.
What I wonder is why they always say that everyone is being lazy, or that someone has been playing tricks on them? What have people possibly done to make them start off expecting refusal? Have they been told "I'm not an employee" so many times that they just think it's all a vast conspiracy against them? If these Karens are so unable to tell a customer from an employee maybe they all need to be examined, first by eye doctors and then by psychiatrists!
Some of them are projecting their own "I don't want to have to do anything myself" attitude on to others, while some are the "The younger generations are just all lazy bums and nasty pranksters who don't want to work!" types, and some are so absolutely unable to even _realize_ that they are wrong, even when it's told to them directly, they take that as "You work here, but you're just making excuses not to work" which is often why they respond like the woman in the second story. The third type legitimately think that whatever vague, wrong, and often nonsensical "evidence" they have that someone works there, like that they are wearing a color that is similar to the uniform, in some kind of uniform at all, or just doing "work" of some sort, is _absolute_ proof that the person works there. So, to those Karens, it would be the same as if someone who clearly _was_ an employee, and was just doing work for the business that they are in, said with a straight face "I don't work here, I can't help you". From the Karens' perspectives, everyone is telling an outrageous and obvious lie, so they must be just not wanting to do their job.
The more someone complains about workers being lazy (whether they are actually employees or not) the more likely it is that they are the type of people that never leave a tip or even a compliment for a job well done.
It is usually projection...because they lie to dodge having to do stuff they assume that everyone else must as well.
Story 1: That level of stupid should be grounds for divorce, only supervised visitation, and a mandatory psychiatric hold.
Story 1: I previously worked at the Home Depot. One of the things required in the store because it bridges the gap between a warehouse and a retail store is that if you need to use a forklift in the store there are STRICT rules surrounding their usage. 1: you need a spotter to walk 10 feet in front of you at all times. 2: when moving if at all possible your forks are to be at or below ankle level trailing behind you not pointed in front of you. 3. If working in an aisle the adjoining aisle or aisles must be closed off and guarded from entry. I have seen pallets containing hundreds of pounds by weight of items get pushed off by oddly shaped items removed from the other side of the wall and slam down in the blink of an eye these rules are absolutely warranted. The number of times I've had people remove the barriers and enter aisles actively being monitored for "just one item" is insane, it actually got to the point where I just got rid of my customer service skills and bitched people out for it, in front of management in one instance. I don't fuck around with safety.
Yeah, story 3 is one of those "and everybody stood up and clapped" stories
Story 2: There's an old Yorkshire proverb: If tha do owt fer nowt, do it fer thisen!
If you want to sweep a coffee shop's patio, get paid to do it and BE an employee. Or sweep it when no other customer is watching...
I actually have a funny wholesome "I don't work here" story, of sorts. I was a teenager and, to give a hint, this was at least 12 years before "Jingle All the Way." The elementary school where my younger sibling attended was having a Halloween carnival at the recess area on Saturday. We were all encouraged to have fun and dress up in costumes. I wanted to be scary so I made my own makeshift costume consisting of black clothes, a big black scarf wrapped around my head, a red skeleton mask, and a hatchet I made out of some cardboard and aluminum foil. They had a haunted house set up in the cafeteria stage area and so we proceeded to go in. One of the teachers looked at me in relief as we went in and was like, "So glad you are finally here. Just follow her." She was addressing a "tour guide" school teacher walking us through the haunted house. As we went through, we saw older kids dressed up to be actors to play vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc. We get to the graveyard spot and the tour guide whispers to me, "This is where you to go jump out and scare them as we walk by." I was like, "huh?" She looked at me confused and asked if I was the one who was supposed to be the hatchet man in that spot. I agreed to do it as a happy ending because apparently the other teenager was unable to make it for some unknown reason. I had fun. It was nothing big and famous, no super hero or super villain, just a silly makeshift hatchet man in a school carnival haunted house in the cafeteria, but it was a fun wholesome "I don't work here" moment for me.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
Story 4 and "Do you know what it's like to deal with a crying child?" would have been the perfect opportunity to response with "Well I'm dealing with you aren't I?" :p
Story 2 - Karen's need to keep their hands to themselves. Saw someone standing around by a coffee place in a store, some Karen started a tantrum and tried to grab him. He picked up a bottle of wine, held it by his waist, and said coldly "DO NOT FUCKING TOUCH ME". Karen got the message immediately, like an off switch, and called the police from the "threat" because it is a deadly weapon.
He purchased the bottle so police let him go, but she nearly got a broken skull from a meltdown for not keeping her hands to herself.
So.. I've got a few 'stories' from all of my time working in retail, but don't usually comment except this time I have one more thing to add to grandpa's thoughts in the last story. The first pharmacy I worked in had a great staff that new every 'patient' including all of the ones with 'issues', & one year there was a problem with several insurances not being excepted & we 'lost' a few patients because of those issues including one poor man who was counting the days until the next year when he could come back to us. He called us one time & started complaining about the service he received in the drive thru & that pretty much everything about the encounter had been very wrong, & when he finally wound down I told him I was very sorry about that but he had called the wrong pharmacy & the next thing I heard from him was an embarrassed 'oops', followed by a thanks for listening & how he didn't think he could wait much longer for the year to be finished so he could come back to us. He even called us during enrollment time to verify which insurances we were taking the following year to ensure he picked the 'right one'.
Story 4: Her saying her daughter has been crying for an hour seems like a lie, given the girl looked sad but didn't immediately throw a fit. Of course, I could be wrong
Story #2: as soon as this Karen would have touched me and PULLED on my shirt I would have called the cops and pressed charges! It doesn't matter if OP works there! Assault is Assault! Thanks for the manager for calling the cops! How insane has a human have to be to GRAB A STRANGER!!
The first story is why if we got rid of warning labels we could get rid of a good portion of the population. 😮 Thanks Darwin.
Really? Do you actually think most people read the labels? Most don't even read the directions.
The labels are actually to get rid of legal liability, most people dont read them, but it means if someone dies after ingesting batteries, they cant sue energizer because “there wasnt a warning”
Whatever happened to, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?
Some folks are all vinegar.
That "federal worker" story reminded me of a business trip I was on many(!) years ago. I was a contractor working for NASA, and one of my colleagues & I had to spend a few days at one of the centers out of the DC area. When we checked into our hotel -- late, thanks to flight delays -- the clerk was obviously annoyed at having to get us set up so late in the evening... but seconds after bringing up our reservations on their computer, their whole manner changed and we got a white-glove treatment from him & the rest of the staff (at least as "white glove" as a 3-star motel can be). We were super-curious as to what changed until my colleague took a closer look at the reservation confirmation. The whole trip was covered by our NASA contract, but either there was a miscommunication, a missed keyboard key, or maybe even our reservations group knew what they were doing because what scared the hotel staff into politeness was the fact that we were listed as being employed by the NSA...! :-)
Remember: As long as you don't hit back, it's Assault. If you fight back, then it's a fight. You definitely want the former in your corner, especially if the cops are involved. ✌😉
And you would be wrong - you have a right to defend yourself against an unwarranted attack. No one has to stand there and allow someone to pummel them.
You can reply with the same force and it is self-defense as long as you do it immediately.
If you respond immediately and only use the amount of force necessary to protect yourself, no more, it’s still assault and you’ve only engaged in self-defense. Of course, you would need either witness or cameras to back up the fact that you were only defending yourself, but it’s still assault whether you hit back or not wtf.
2nd story: I'm not surprised it escalated into an arrest. This story is just so typical of ones that you hear on reddit all the time.
Every Karen saying "I won't ask you again!"
... Then don't? Why are you still talking lady? XP
Calling the man rotund is one of the best ways I've heard recently to call someone fat😂
Call them Sir... Sir Cumference. 😐
14:15 I guess you could go "POSTAL" on them? LOL.
story1: I laughed when her husband was basically tlaking to her like she was a child I love that XD
Story 2: Does anyone REALLY think it was unreasonable for "Karen" to believe OP worked there? Was it unreasonable for "Karen" to think OP and the staff were messing with her? Was it unreasonable for "Karen" to get upset and frustrated? NO!!
HOWEVER, "Karen" should not have grabbed OP, and if she thought the staff was messing with her, she should have just left, because who wants to be served by people you think are messing with you (and maybe your food, too)?
I work retail. I’m a shift supervisor. One week we had a certain laundry detergent for sale. This black woman asks where is it. I tell her we’re out. She demands I go in back to get some. That she knows we have some. I tell her we ran out 2 days ago, we’re getting some in tomorrow. At the register she demands a manager. So me and another shift supervisor head up. She’s pissed off seeing me. She demands laundry detergent. I tell her to ask both my cashier and the other manager. Then she says
I’m going to have my Asian friend come over later today and watch, she’s going to get some laundry detergent. You Asians are all the same. You watch out for your own kind but don’t care for others.
The cashier was also Asian, the other shift supervisor was white. After she left all I could say is that she doesn’t know my last name. My husband is white and I took his last name. So without my middle name no one would suspect it belongs to an Asian woman.
With that last story about the Karen destroying the supplies in the back room.
After all I could think is that poor kid.
If that little girl realizes that the reason that her mom is now in jail is because she got upset over not being able to get a doll.
That’s probably going to traumatize her.
She’ll probably never ask for anything again for fear of her parents getting arrested.
Story 3 : what if OP work for IRS, the military or Feds or CIA would sounds too nicely
It's crazy how much the 2nd story escalated JFC
Theres always great dtories abouy construction. I know when my store remodeled they put walls up and weve had to heavy lock yhe doors to those areas because karens thought thats where we were hiding all the good stuff. Even though there werent any shelves or walls. This other time a woman complain that her kid almost got hurt becauer he snuck into that area and a guy dropped his hammer.
Story 1: That last commenter reminded me of the mall where I live. The mall was renovating a large section, some bigwig decided that they should allow the public to witness the demo/construction. They did the same thing. Only they used those tape line things like you see at the bank with a couple of warning/keep out signs. Naturally someone ignored them, went in and got hurt. The mall got sued, lost, and they ended up paying for security to stop people instead of just re-installing the barriers with observation windows.
Story 1 is a textbook definition of Expectational Blindness. She is holding onto her expectations so hard that she can’t see the information that’s right in front of her.
6:19 What Karen said is definitely NOT an ask. she is demanding.
First one. Spouse worked at a tech company and it was -15f in early January, I went to pick them up for lunch together. The thought was Macaroni Grill. Nope. In a sort of tangled mess half developed off campus was this restaurant that was on their WE ARE EATING HERE TODAY!!! After some driving around searching, the place is located. No steam from the vents, should be crisp and white in that cold. No lights. Not a single tire track or footprint in the snow. No trail to the dumpster. Not open. Nope, they were going to eat there TODAY. Got out of car despite protests of running out of lunch time and it will end up being drive through and eat in the car on the way back if they get out. They get out, try all the doors and peer in through smoke tinted dark windows. Finally they get back in the car with shoes full of snow and grumbles about Macaroni Grill. Too late and it’s drive through. Steaming mad all afternoon because they wanted to eat there and groused about it until someone comes up with the tidbit that the place closed right after Labor Day.
Glad to see more of this series, it's so entertaining. Yeah only a idiot would lie about their employment Karen, your being silly.
I could see justification in saying you didn't work there if you had to deal with people like Karen all the time. Of course, in that situation I'd actually quit.
Story 3: I'm surprised "Angry Man" didn't challenge what OP said as every Karen does, but I guess he still had enough sense not to push his luck.
Story 2. Why would you be surprised that someone who sees you cleaning the patio regularly and being friendly with the actual staff thinks that you work there?
For the person who commented that they work for the post office and would not get respect; I remember back in the day when going postal put fear in the heart and mind of people.
Sounds like Karen's kid was more mature about the doll thing than the mother, and I'm disinclined to agree that the kid in question was in tears over the issue unless the mother's own reaction spurred it from them (since the kid's reaction when OP told them was one of disappointment, not a tantrum). Its one thing to embarrass yourself by having a public tantrum over something that couldn't be helped, but how could you be so stupid as to not understand that knocking over shelves and breaking wine bottles was going to get you nothing but a prison sentence.
I would LOVE to hear some I DO work here stories. Those are awesome
S3: My immediate thought was that OP worked for the IRS and could have really messed up the passenger’s life with an audit!
The story about the plane, why was the plane boarded if it hadn't been fueled up. The fact that the kid lasted as long as he did. Kids don't stay still🤣. As for OP of the story, phenomenal 🥳🥳
As obnoxious as that other guy was, he was not wrong. He was just being obnoxious about it
@@nancyomalley6286 he was wrong about putting his foot into the isle then piping up when people tripped. I'm quite tall myself and always book the isle seat to get some additional leg room. But when someone tries to pass, you have to pull it in. People were apologizing to him out of curtosy, but actually it was him who should have apologized.
He was also wrong about the fuel situation. The cabin crew doesn't make those calls. If he wanted to complain, he'd need to leave the plane and talk to the people making the decision not to provide the plain with fuel in time. Boarding the plane while refueling is very common. It takes quite some time to board everyone. Loading all kinds of cargo and fuel at the same time is normal.
No one should assume someone works in a place; but NGL if you are going to be nice and help the staff out by sweeping/carrying someone else’s order to them, then yes they will assume you work there and get angry when you refuse to help. Also be careful doing that because if a small business owner sees that a customer is doing their employee’s job for free then the employees can get in trouble either by write-ups or getting their hours cut due to “budget issues” or get fired since their insurance probably doesn’t cover if a customer gets hurt doing the employee’s job for free (like slipping on the mop/broom they used or spilling something on themselves or someone else)
21:10 LMAO!!! 😭🤣
I am never surprised by escalating Karenism. That's called "turning rancid" and I believe I've left quite the ranting record of commentary on Rancid Karens.
Story 2: It didn't say a day old coffee, Fluff. I believe OP was referring to baked goods, a lot of coffee shops also sell things like donuts/muffins since they go well with the coffee.
Whether someone works in an establishment or not, assaulting them is ALWAYS a crime. I don't get why so many people think it's ok to grab other people they don't even know!
I work in a grocery store deli. We have people asking us questions all day long; like where is the Bakery, as soon as they walk in the front door. Do you see a Bakery here? Try another part of the store!
The other day an older Asian gentleman came into the department, behind the counter, heading for the back. He was stopped, asked to please return to the outer area of the department. He was informed that area is for employees only and hair nets are required to be worn at all times. We knew he wasn't a contracted worker or a health inspector. When asked if we could help him with something, he said that he wanted to use our washroom because someone was in the stores public washroom. After telling him that there is no washroom in the department, he pointed to the two large doors to the walk-in storage cooler, saying that he sees people going in and coming out. How he thought that there would be a 'toilet' in a room that's 38F degrees is beyond me!
People are even stupider when work is done on a roadway. It's insane. I've done sewer jobs where the setting up of cones and signals took longer than the actual work.
4th story: If I had pitched a temper fit like that kid purportedly threw, I never would have gotten the toy. Also, I wonder did pitching a temper fit get OP the doll?
Story 1: It's about time OP establishes dominance IMMEDIATELY in one of these IDWHL stories. Why most IDWHL stories don't go this way is a mystery. Most Karens must put more thought into choosing their victims.
Story 2: 8!+ch, let go of me; I don't want to go to jail again.
Saw that whine line coming😂😂
Happy Sunday Darkfluff!
I work for an auto insurance company. We get a lot of entitled people. I get insurance is pricey and doesn’t pay for everything it should, but that is a system issue, nothing myself or my team members have any control over. People will yell how my company is saying they are at fault on purpose, to spite them. If they are insured with my company, why the heck would we want you to be at fault. That means we gotta pay. 🤦♀️ there is always the fun people that threaten us employees thinking that will get them a rental or car parts in faster…things no one in my company has any control over.
Love your content, especially the stories from this subreddit.
Final Story - I’ve been taught to let people finish talking before speaking myself, but in this case with that old bag I would’ve yelled out that I don’t work there followed by some colorful choice words, just to get her to shut up and leave me alone.
Story 2 (sweeping for coffee): Karen made a very reasonable assumption that someone who sweeps the property on a regular basis is an employee. Unfortunately, her reasoning stopped there. Do NOT get an attitude when asking for something (OP may have even cleaned the table, had Karen asked nicely). Do NOT manhandle anyone, employee or otherwise. And DO NOT lie to the cops!!
I feel sorry for that little girl. First she doesn't get the doll she wants, then her mom goes and gets herself arrested?! Sounds like years of therapy waiting to happen.
I used to work at thd....it is ridiculous how many people will move a barrier and walk right up to lift equipment in the air ...i can't count how many times I had to hit estop
