@@alanrossreviews hi and thanks for your reviews! Does it make sense to change a pair of motion boom to a pair of boom 2? And how much louder is boom 2, if you take it as a percentage?
As an owner of a soundcore boom 2 I can confirm that it's definitely tuned towards electronic music and not rock. The bass is punchy and DSP amplified, which works well for the music I listen to. But as soon as there is a permanent bass or anything mid heavy, you're using the wrong speaker. Having built and DSP tuned a two way bluetooth speaker myself, I respect soundcore's choice to go this way. I think it makes sense for many people and they didn't cut corners in the wrong places (although I would appreciate a low latency Bluetooth mode, since there is no audio jack). If you throw a party and want more power, you can always mono your phone to get an effective boost in highs. For the 100 bucks I paid, I think it's a solid choice, unless you're into rock I'm afraid.
@born_hard9705 the tronsmart bang (60watts) version is good for rock and electronic music I have the Tronsmart Bang and the souncore motion boom 2 plus
Good point didn't realize that till now, how sneaky of Soundcore. Say they can pair the boom 2 to the motion boom plus hun. I need to see that in the next video
Massive bass increase for this size ! I thought we were close to the physical limit between the size and bass level, looks like there's still some room for improvement, nice ! thank's for this deep review !
Alan the man!-👍 👍 Ive seen the rest, now its time to see the best. This man tells it how it really is! The most honest reviewer! Great work as usual Alan. Im always waiting on ur true honest opinion and reviews on the newest speakers. Thanks!
I have used the Boom 2 for a couple weeks now at work. I work at noisy construction site environments, so I need loudness over hifi quality sound, and this is a great replacement for my old Motion Boom! More bass and a bit louder in the same compact size, so it's been great! I listen to many different genres from trance to bluegrass, and this thing delivers. Build quality is on par with the Motion Boom, which has proven to be very durable over the years. I also like the form factor more, because the Boom 2 won't roll on its face from a slight bump like the MB often does. And I really prefer the hard plastic over the fancy fabric wraps for my use. The handle is a bit thicker and not smooth on the underside, so it's not as nice to carry around as the MB, but at least we still have the handle. The handle is a must for me! I got the Boom 2 for 99€. Good value!😎
Just got the boom 2 and motion x300 in the post yesterday and very happy with both. (Ooh and the p20i for 16£... thats the furthest 16 quid will ever go in my life haha. What a bargain, thankyou Anker for your cheap bulk-component purchases and competitive unit pricing) Bought 6 motion booms in my time, theyve done me well, but the boom 2's added wattage and bass... if youre planning to utilize TWO for stereo... DO IT!! Very much worth it imo- huge for electronic/drum n bass or other genres with high pitch drums/high hats and such whilst also projecting a lott of bass/lower frequencies. Personally i'd turn off the LED's though. 80 watts out of such a small speaker... the battery will rinse as it is! Two boom 2's and my motion boom plus (for added filler bass in the middle) will absolutely SORT an outdoor party/rave. If you're into outdoor activities and no one hates you for your decibel production... yet... then its a purchase i'd personally make 100%. Party cast is besutiful too. Thankfully never utilized the 3.5mm jack so that wont be a problem for me. - - - Quick question- Anyone on android know how to give the soundcore app permission to see my phone's "clipboard" that gets used when copying and pasting? I accidentally refused it when installing the app yesterday and cant find the option in the settings for permissions for the app to change it... ffs lol. Cant use anyones EQ's without this permission being accepted!
@@alanrossreviews Heya mate, sorry I should've updated this. I fixed it like an hour ago! The option is under the settings tab THROUGH the application itself, top right cog wheel. Cheers for the help regardless though!
Great detailed review - finally I know why I am confused with boom 2 sound :D So far I'm closer to returning/selling my Booms 2 and getting second mb. I just prefer this warmer sounding of mids and trebles even if there is less of clarity and bass power. But maybe TWS will cover all flaws of single woofer design ? Haven't opened second boom 2 as I want to sell it sealed (using "free" X10 from this set so can't just return) so looking forward for your check! We are lucky that you got second boom 2 by accident so immediately 😅
Yes, good work Alan, i like the boom 2, the flater design is nice. I like the green color and the light mode. Yes, the boom 1 sound's warmer and the 2 ist brighter. For me it's a nice upgrade.🎉
Thanks for this!!! Crazy that souncore did what jbl should basically have done with their new extreme 4, i honestly thought they were going to make it look like a mini boombox 3 with a "sub" mids and tweeters, i love my extreme 3 up to 60 percent but anything much after that and it just becomes all highs and not pleasant to listen to
Great video. I’ve bought a Boom 2 a week ago. Couldn’t agree more on the “2.1” configuration. Luckily you have two Boom 2 so you can pair them as TWS. Although this speaker doesn’t have a dedicated midrange or woofer, the midrange is pretty pronounced if you ask me.
@@alanrossreviews yeah the whole thing. I really enjoy watching them in the evening. I would argue the most thorough Bluetooth speaker reviews on TH-cam. I’m quite a visual type of person so seeing the frequency responses you have measured etc is really nice.
@@hotwheelshuntingukYeah, his frequency response graphs are what really put his reviews on the next level over pretty much all the youtubers in my opinion.
My friend recently got the Extreme 4, and we also thought that the bass was very bad, but that was until we discovered that the aura cast button actually makes the bass substantially better. For some reason, when you turn aura cast on the bass just improves, even without you connecting it to another speaker via aura cast
Just got the Boom 2. Fine product, but some shortcomings are there to mention. The speaker hisses a litle bit too much for quiet night usage, and makes thump sound when entering quiet mode (often). It is too midbass heavy, and totally deserves if not "needs" 5Hz lower tuning of the passive radiators. Speech is little muffled due to the amount of bass. It is interesting product in its own, and it shreds competition (JBL) into pieces for its price. So still, very good. I wonder how to disassemble it and undertune the passive radiators to be fully satisfied. That one certainly goes in my bag instead of Charge 5 and Zealot S68.
Yes, I did modify quite few BT speakers to get lower bass from these, half way successfully. The Niceboy Party Boy 2 benefitted the most (other Niceboy products tested and not good value). The issue here is that Boom 2 is not teardown friendly. Anyways, it is a great speaker still. There is no point in EQ here for getting what I need, because it looks like there is steep roloff in the bass inposed electronically. It will simply not play lower tones, no matter the tuning. Both drivers and passives stop moving, which is a great sign of baked-in processing disqualifying it from any attempts. I even tried to replace input filters on the electronics boards of few BT speakers, the tuning remains unchanged. It is baked in the processing.
bought the boom 2 a few days ago and i love it! started looking online for all sorts of EQs and i found a few i like, it does have pretty good bass but it depends, not all the bass frequencies sound good or sometimes you can barely hear them for example from some rap song ive listened to
I have both the Motion Boom and the Boom 2 and I couldn’t agree more with this video. The Boom 2 is super fun to listen to for EDM, Hip-Hop, Pop. But as soon as I play a rock song it becomes very dull. The Motion Boom is much more versatile for different genres even if it can’t play some of them as good as the Boom 2. If they put 2 midrange drivers instead of just one it wouldn’t been so much better
I've received my 2 a few days ago and im very happy with them especially paired in TWS. Sadly i have to replace one as it b has a lot of crackling in one of them but after tunning with the app it sounds great. Definitely a step up from the motion boom and the boom plus. Awesome review as always sir.
I dont own any of these speakers but I still watched the whole hour. You seem very knowledgable, should look at reviewing other things mate. Thanks heaps for the entertainment!
Thanks for a really detailed review, I think that overall you demonstrated Ankers value for money against the JBLansing who have been getting away with detail supping mono speakers for too long at somewhat overinflated prices for a Chinese product. On the Boom 2 the detail loss by mixing midrange and bass onto ths single driver is quite apparent on stereo recordings. I can't help thinking that you could have squeezed a few more dB's from the Boom plus😂 Thanks again for a rivetting show, those who know will understand.
Great job alan!!!!!! Now hyst waitin fir that x20 review!!!! Lol but the x20 is mu new go to altho bass boost cannot nor should it be used makes everything muddy but with some eq in the app it hits deeper and cleaner without it wking finally figured out deep bass but hope they sent ya it alan!!! Finally!! The long awaited video & the only interesting BT speaker review i've got interest in and seat through to the end even if its 3hrs Watching from my 2 Motion Booms in TWS😁 Boom 2 is really good for what it offers at a great price & performance wise especially in comparison with Xtreme 4, really great & portable for that outdoor and or party lifestle, 2 in TWS is something i'll be very much interested in looking forward to I have a question, can one really just look at a speaker playing and determine whether its warm, bright, neutral, clinical... Upper bass or mid bass or deep bass dominant, boosted bass, treble etc or must a frequency response test & other tests be done to determine all these & not just by listening alone? If you have the time, you might want to upgrade the boom to 00.44, it might make a little difference i guess Thanks once again for this wonderful, detailed video plus the sense of humour, its quite educational, entertaining & much more Xtreme 4 cleared, Boom 2 cleared, what next? Maybe the JBL Boombox 3 killer? Wking X20😅 More power to you Alan! Cheers!
Sure some have great ears and can easily discern different frequencies. Personally i like to listen then confirm by measurement which is also a great way to improve how you hear the frequencies. Assuming your tracks are linear enough. X20 not available in uk 🇬🇧
@@alanrossreviews Oh, i see! Thanks so much for the explanation Well, i'll have my fingers crossed till its available in UK then Have a great day Alan!
Awesome comprehensive review Al! I had to wait for the kids to get to bed to watch the whole thing haha worth the wait. As you said, its kind of a weird speaker. Tuned like the motion boom and plus. But hey it has lights and if it settles under 100 pounds it might be worth a punt. Looking forward to hearing the tws tests!! Considering 2 of them for less than a xtremely priced 4 😂
This speaker will sell well as it is targeted at teenagers ( who can hear over 18khz) and will sell well due to its lights and price point ( soon to be under £100) anticipate at least 3 more new bluetooth speakers by summer.
Leaving comment after watching. Imo a bit of a successor, not quite what i wanted, unless. But what i think is, its way to bright and feels boxi sounding, if it was me would reduce it tbh, how well can it go if you push the lower bass? Will there be a follow up dedicated custom eq video testing the boundaries of this speaker? Like sounding more warmer(low bass oriented), to sounding louder, etc. And ofc what options we have to save the tuning. Just curious. Nice work as always MrAlan :)
to be honest i just dont have time to tweak eqs that much for each speaker unless its something im going to be listening to. pushing bass wont get you any more at max and its already very heavily boosted. it is indeed bright and boxy due to the single woofer.
@@alanrossreviews i understand, the problems i perceived were pretty much the ones you mentioned, bright and compressed with addiction of boxiness to it. Bass is powerfull but i was wonder ing if the boom 2 could replicate the og in steroids abit smh in bass but i think its gonna be hard. As for the issues idk what could be either, i would say its just bad processing, but could also be on the woofer smh. I think the Tweeters are overkill tho,for the woofer imean.
I'm very happy with my Boom2, love it 😎 I think it's devinitely an upgrade compared to the old Motion Boom, gave mine as gift to the family. But i'm very excited about your opinion 😉 Reminder is anabled👌🏻
@@alanrossreviews Yes maybe the Motion Boom does a little bit warmer sounding, but Boom 2 is more controlled, sounds more detailed and much more clean on high volume. But i don't want to start a discussion now, otherwise i don't have to watch your video anymore...😜
Uhh loved the lenght on this one....thats what she said 😄Current pricing on german amazon is very black and white. 65€ for the Boom and 130€ for the Boom 2. How do you reckon it compares to Rave Neo 2 Alan?
Overall. The best sounding speaker. I have all of these speakers tested today. And motion boom is always my go to...just corner load it and sit back and enjoy. Never wast money on Jbl
Hello! Dude I love your channel and I respect your work. So would you please try to do a review on the new wking x20 it's 200w rms 250 peak. Word is its a jbl bb3 killer, what I want to know is, does it really beat jbl this time and for the money about 250 usd, is it the best speaker out for that low cost. Ty you in advance. Love your views.
Kudos for soundcore sending you a speaker knowing full well your going to give your honest opinion, perhaps theres hope for them afterall if there going to listen to real critics
When you say " hope for them" commercially they have at least 9 bluetooth speakers at various price points, and none of them are rubbish. They are good at making what "Joe Public" likes to hear with some items being quite innovative, they are possibly in the top three highest selling brands globally. Although they might not be the best in their field at some things, their overall package and price makes them an attractive purchase for the many.
Thank you so much for your review and speaker comparison. I know it's a lot of money, but I'm curious about this new wking x20 with a very specific design. If the boom plus had a detachable handle like the x20, it would be perfect, but this handle makes it take up more space than it should. I think that soundcore speakers in general would be nicer. For now, it's probably worth paying a few extra pounds for boom plus? I didn't understand one thing, a single woofer causes a worse sound space?
a single woofer means you dont get the full benefit of the stereo effects that are placed in the track during the mixing as it relies on full left and right, not just tweeters. imagine say the sound engineer placing certain instruments far left or right, standup abss for example where most of the sound is in the mids and lows, you have totally lost that imaging.
Anker has a new speaker every day!!! I just ordered Soundcore Boom 2 SE on AliExpress for 89.21 USD. Soundcore Boom 2 SE (30W) has the same speaker layout as the Soundcore Motion Boom... I can't wait to compare it against my Soundcore Motion Boom and the Motion Plus!
@@alanrossreviews I'm sure it is genuine, because I ordered it from the official Anker store on AliExpress. I already bought from there my Motion Boom, Motion Plus and the Soundcore Boost! Amazon prices are too high for my country (Bulgaria).
Nice! People comparing this to Tribit s blast is crazy, I got Boom plus and Tribit blast, and i never take the Tribit on the go, mutch better to take the boom plus, light, loud and tunig is perfect for outdoor, Tribit is great playing tws in my homegym, can even be used for biceps curls 😂
ngl, i kind of prefer the motion boom and the motion boom +. The double woofer makes the sound fuller for me. At least based on the reference headphones I'm listening with while watching this video.
Just as we thought it was safe to back in the water...........Boom 2 plus on horizon, 140W, 3.8kg and the 'core boys say 1.6 times more bass than Motion Boom Plus, the hype catapault is loaded.😂
Alan, I love your reviews and i started watching ever since i got the motion boom. Since Then i got two motion booms and was pretty impressed how the tws sounds. 1 day later i ordered a boom plus even after reading comments and reviews that 2 booms are better than a plus. So an hour later i ordered another plus and was excited to get both the same night shipped and i gave the boom plus my first listen on certain bass heavy rock tracks and rap tracks. First of all i want to say that i think the default modes of these soundcore speakers are very flat and boring. The speakers are only really a good value and nice to listen to once you dial in your own personal eq settings. Two booms are pretty loud and have great clarity. The plus is a great speaker itself if you are listening to it in your kitchen or outside but TWO pluses is just somewhat magical. It just goes deeper and louder and at less volume. So two booms is really good for an office type setting and if you have an eq that adds even more bass the boom does a really good job imo. So now lets get to the topic of the BOOM2 . I ordered two because i had to try it. Yes they produce a little more bass but i feel the sound is more of warm vocal sound and lacks the clarity of the boom and overall balance. The boom does get a little tinny and loses seperation as you go higher though. I also think its funny that they advertise the boom 2 as louder than the motion boom. I did numerous tests of the boom vs boom2 both being in tws mode and imo the OG boom goes a little louder. I finally did some tweaking of the eq to get the vocals to come alive more and got happier with the boom2 but only if im using two of them. You are right about the bass up vs off feature being kinda odd. They made it so the step up from bass off to on increases the treble and bass about 15 percent. On some songs it can get SLAP HAPPY as youve stated. Where the boom 2 does a good job is when its enclosed on a shelf by a ceiling or by your computer desk on a cubby it will reverb bass good. Put them in tws mode and its good. I really wish you tested the boom pairs vs boom 2 pairs. Now getting back to my experience further. I had 2 weeks left to dertermine if im going to send back my booms to amazon for a full refund and keep my boom 2s. you would think this would be an easy decision but I just said i like these OG booms still for other reasons that i cant see myself replacing them for the boom 2. Now another test i did was two boom pluses vs boom 2 outdoors. The pluses BLOW away the boom 2 pairs outside. The bass travels and hits much farther and i prefer them over the boom 2 is you are comparing pairs all day long. But again enivronment really matters. One good thing that was kinda mentioned was party cast 2.0. They really need to state how to use it but for anyone reading this comment this far i can help. So whats neat is these speakers and the plus have party cast 2.0 but i think tws might sound better. I personally think in party cast 2.0 it puts each speaker in a mono mode or something. How to use party cast 2.0 ONE speaker is the bluetooth on your phone. If you have multiple speakers on your phone as bluetooth turned on it will not work. Have one device as the host. All others turned off, turn on the speaker , push the party cast buttom, do it on all 4. Ive had two pluses , two boom 2s hooked up in the house and i thought it sounded pretty good. Sorry this comment is so long but your the best and i hope you read this an comment Oh but the boom 2 has cool lights!!!! :) lol
Just to say adding a second speaker does not give you deeper bass, it can certainly sound bigger but the bass cannot go deeper than a single speaker already plays.
@@alanrossreviews well now im starting to notice that these boom 2 speakers are SLAP HAPPY and i think they are garbage at this point. Since i already got two booms and two pluses and if i must have either these 2 boom 2s or 1 tribit stormbox blast , would you return the TWO boom 2s to buy one tribit stormbox blast or even that new w king speaker? only thing soundcore has the edge on is the app but does the stormbox blast really put out a more enjoyable sound with cleaner overall bass at medium volumes?
@@alanrossreviews try two pluses with 2 boom 2 booms in party cast 2.0 I actually think its pretty good. Would love to see a video of that LOL Im listening to big truck by coal chamber full blast on all 4 speakers! well maybe 60 percent
Guys...I sold my Boom and I really don't know what to order. The Boom plus? Or the Boom 2? I will use the speaker both for indoor and outdoor. I would like it to be smaller, so thinking more about Boom 2 to be honest, but I am really afraid that it sounds bad at low levels...
I enjoy your reviews sir. And I have an idea for some content. I think it would be interesting to see how adding a second speaker changes the sound profile compared to just one. I have a boombox 2 and an Xtreme 3 and I always think about how much does this really contribute compared to just the boombox 2. I also add my flip 6 in once in a while when I'm really feeling it lol.
Alan and all Boom2 users: DONT DISABLE SPEAKER PROMPTS in app settings.. or preEQ of speaker won't be loaded and high frequencies will be absent. Enable and reboot, who has this problem. Soundcore said they will fix this bug in future.
Thanks for this! I just disabled speaker prompts now just to test this thing, and indeed it does sound like it doesn't have highs. It came back to normal once I reactivated the prompts and restarted the speaker.
@@confess2god 03.11 firmware fixes this issue ;) Also seems that Signature Mode was improved, i like the default sound profile now. Less boomy bass, balanced highs
@@jaanpht Thanks! That sounds good! I still cannot see the 3.11 update. I am on 3.08 and says that I am up to date. I will update as soon as it is available :)
Another "Cut through the Bulls***" review 👍. You mentioned a couple of interesting things about it being a single woofer as opposed to 2 woofers. OG Boom has a very narrow soundstage, is that less of an issue with the Boom 2?
I already have 2 blasts but I'm curious about getting the boom 2 since it's really portable. Blasts won't fit in my utility box. I mean it won't fit in my scoot underseat storage. Is it quite comparable on audio warmth on blasts? If so, I'd get one. Thanks in advance.
Loved this! Alan laying it out in absolute clarity as always. The Xtreme 4 really is an absolute trash badger, only good as a doorstop. Definitely more tempted by the Boom 2 now, I can't listen to my speakers too loud, and the Boom 2 looks like it performs pretty well up to 60% volume. Keep them coming Alan, I always wait for your reviews before deciding, top notch!
Ok, I've been confusing between Onix Studio 8 and tribit stormbox blast - which one should i buy? I'm a low volume listener. I never go beyond 60% volume. So, among the above mentioned two, which one is better for me? Which one wins in terms of sound quality and bass? As a low volume listener, which one should I buy? Greetings to You and Your Channel....
They should make the original boom e bit longer and taller to enlarge the woofers.(Like the plus) With mine I only wished it went a little deeper in bass more effortless and had a better EQ.If it had that it would be one of the best out there and certainly the best of the three.Actually I think it still is the best of the three..
trouble is they never really understand what makes these speakers popular, once they change the drivers and size it simply becomes another speaker. they dont try and keep the overall sound signature.
I dont even watch the other vids on this speaker. Im ok with my motoon boom. I like the look of the new one. But if i popped for this it has to be a valid reason. Sounds good, better than my motion boom is what i want, or i just sit on my boom.
Love the Blast. Can’t compare it to the Boom 2. Not the same class in my opinion. Price is almost close though. If size doesn’t matter, Blast 100% over the Boom 2. Still decent for the price.
Yes the Boom 2 is decent but I compared to my Old Motion Boom and honestly I didn’t heard any difference in volume wise. Maybe if I didn’t have a Motion Boom I will keep it.
Bro, the motion boom has almost 10k mah battery capacity and 30 watts output and the boom 2 has 5k almost with 60watts output.. does that mean double playing time at the highest volume ? Is there a huge difference in loudness that you can tell ?
no you have a lot of misconceptions there, you might want to google this stuff. watt hours is battery capacity,. playing time depends on many variables. dynamics, how compressed the track is, how much bass the track has , if the speaker is cheating with battery management etc
@@alanrossreviews yes I do have therfore I asked you. I have tried to understand things myself googling it but was not able to .. what I understand from you is a part from dynamics, audio variabiles .. I should look in the the watt hours?
@@paintingtutorials2d3dprodu22 im saying you can't really predict battery life. More watt hours is more battery life. More volume is less battery life. Bass heavy music is less battery life.
Firstly thank you for your hard work and honesty in your reviews. I am curious which one you would pick if the price was the same between this Boom 2 or the Motion X600. There's currently an offer on their website which brings the prices down. I am struggling to choose between these two and a Sony XG300 which recently came down in price...anyone's opinion would be welcome if they have experience with any of them
it really depends on your ears. some love the so called spatial audio of the x600. for me its unlistenable due to bright tuning, fake upward firing driver and bass distortion. id rather listen the boom 2 but then id rather listen to the motion boom over the boom 2. its close tho between boom 2 and motion boom and again will depend on your ears. boom warmer, boom more clinical and metallic sounding.
Is Tribit Stormbox flow has more bass and power (fidelity) than maXsound plus? You said: flow has some distortion in Xbass mode. Is it only at high volume? or sound distortion is there at every volume level?
Having a single specialized woofer for low frequencies makes sense imo. But for sure it should be coupled with midrange drivers. I cant wait with their copy of the jbl bb3 that introduced that racetrack woofer concept. For 100 quid I think this speaker is a steal for bass heads, its not advertised as a hifi speaker so nothing wrong there. It has boom in the name and it does boom, so all fine in terms of marketing honesty this time.
@@alanrossreviews The term 'Subwoofer' has been misrepresented over the years when using audio jargon, and it seems like anything that can reproduce 100Hz or below qualifies.
@@nebojsanestorovic1416 mis-used is the point. There right, wrong and grey areas. With a passive tuned at 60hz and a single crossover into tweeters means this is a lie and they know it.

The Anker Soundcore Boom 2 SE speaker went on sale on Aliexpress for the Russian market, the external one is the same, the difference is in the speakers, there are 2 of them, as in the regular Soundcore Boom.
The Boom 2SE is a totally different speaker, it uses two woofers, no tweeters and is rated at 30W. The casing and lights look same as Boom 2 though that's where the similarity ends.
@@alanrossreviews Would it be correct to assume that regardless to a certain extent of what the passives are tuned to, they rely on the air from the woofer(s) to drive them, making them vulnerable to the woofers shortcomings.
@@nebojsanestorovic1416 not sure what you mean by the woofers short comings. The passive can only play frequencies the woofer is actually playing and to be playing them it must be increasing the air pressure within the cabinet. I mean if anything it would be the passive radiator that would suffer from short comings. Ive certainly seen passives tuned lower than the woofer goes so basically it does nothing 😭
@@alanrossreviews Thanks Alan, I thought that the passives worked on the total air pressure in the cab ( L+R) so as long as L and R are mixed to push and pull at the same time, it will be OK, however if L and R are slightly out of phase then the energy to drive passives will be the difference between L and R, I think. If the L and R were in seperate cabinets (not practical in bluetooth boxes) the problem would not exist, I guess. Thanks for hearing me out.

Slappy = more upper bass than deep lower bass. Not a thump but a lighter slap.
@@ELM777that's why you lower the 150hz band and keep the 80hz band up on the eq. It will reduce the "slappiness"

Its not the same size however
@@alanrossreviews Not a big difference!🙂
Thanks for this detailed review.
I was sure they will send it in the same time with your personal order.
Keep up the good work and amazing editing❤
Thanks for noticing 🤗
Just got the boom 2 and motion x300 in the post yesterday and very happy with both. (Ooh and the p20i for 16£... thats the furthest 16 quid will ever go in my life haha. What a bargain, thankyou Anker for your cheap bulk-component purchases and competitive unit pricing)
Bought 6 motion booms in my time, theyve done me well, but the boom 2's added wattage and bass... if youre planning to utilize TWO for stereo...

Quick question- Anyone on android know how to give the soundcore app permission to see my phone's "clipboard" that gets used when copying and pasting? I accidentally refused it when installing the app yesterday and cant find the option in the settings for permissions for the app to change it... ffs lol.
Cant use anyones EQ's without this permission being accepted!
have you tried revoking all permissions and see what happens? i think if you unistall/reinstall you also get the option again

Thanks for this!!! Crazy that souncore did what jbl should basically have done with their new extreme 4, i honestly thought they were going to make it look like a mini boombox 3 with a "sub" mids and tweeters, i love my extreme 3 up to 60 percent but anything much after that and it just becomes all highs and not pleasant to listen to
The JBL Xtreme 4 disappointment 😔😭😭
Great video. I’ve bought a Boom 2 a week ago. Couldn’t agree more on the “2.1” configuration. Luckily you have two Boom 2 so you can pair them as TWS. Although this speaker doesn’t have a dedicated midrange or woofer, the midrange is pretty pronounced if you ask me.

My friend recently got the Extreme 4, and we also thought that the bass was very bad, but that was until we discovered that the aura cast button actually makes the bass substantially better. For some reason, when you turn aura cast on the bass just improves, even without you connecting it to another speaker via aura cast
will have to check that out, the connect button o old jbls did something similar
@@alanrossreviewsit makes speaker mono for pairing, wich maybe increases the bass😁
That one certainly goes in my bag instead of Charge 5 and Zealot S68.
not really practical trying to tune the passives for what you will get back but adding mass would be the way to go. have you tried my custom eq?
It is baked in the processing.
bought the boom 2 a few days ago and i love it! started looking online for all sorts of EQs and i found a few i like, it does have pretty good bass but it depends, not all the bass frequencies sound good or sometimes you can barely hear them for example from some rap song ive listened to
speakers this size will always be limited in bass output
Happy days 👌👍
I dont own any of these speakers but I still watched the whole hour. You seem very knowledgable, should look at reviewing other things mate. Thanks heaps for the entertainment!
Thanks for that 😁 but i think better to be good at one thing than mediocre at several things. Long as i enjoy myself that's all that matters.
Yeah you can certainly get more from the boom plus but you would need to drop some bass 🙄

Watching from my 2 Motion Booms in TWS😁
Boom 2 is really good for what it offers at a great price & performance wise especially in comparison with Xtreme 4, really great & portable for that outdoor and or party lifestle, 2 in TWS is something i'll be very much interested in looking forward to
I have a question, can one really just look at a speaker playing and determine whether its warm, bright, neutral, clinical... Upper bass or mid bass or deep bass dominant, boosted bass, treble etc or must a frequency response test & other tests be done to determine all these & not just by listening alone?
If you have the time, you might want to upgrade the boom to 00.44, it might make a little difference i guess

Two in tws vs xtremely disappointing 4 just to make JBL cry 😂

@@nebojsanestorovic1416 Yeah maybe I should have said hope for us to bring us something phenomenal at a great price
Hope for them to have a soul. Currently they are the biggest sponsor of fake reviews and their marketing contains more lies than any other company.
They give each speaker to a different manager to control branding and marketing. I dont think most of them have any idea who i am 😁
Its the early release speakers that are tightly controlled. Once enough fake reviews are out some negative ones have less effect.

@@dustinschoger i havent tried the two booms 2 yet in tws but one blast kills one boom 2.

Another "Cut through the Bulls***" review 👍. You mentioned a couple of interesting things about it being a single woofer as opposed to 2 woofers. OG Boom has a very narrow soundstage, is that less of an issue with the Boom 2?
no its not the width but the dullness that a single woofer can bring. its certainly not wider sounding.

As a company but it doesn't effect my opinion on their speakers, good is good and bad is bad 😁
The motion boom still sounfs the most natural and pleasant 😊
They should make the original boom e bit longer and taller to enlarge the woofers.(Like the plus) With mine I only wished it went a little deeper in bass more effortless and had a better EQ.If it had that it would be one of the best out there and certainly the best of the three.Actually I think it still is the best of the three..
trouble is they never really understand what makes these speakers popular, once they change the drivers and size it simply becomes another speaker. they dont try and keep the overall sound signature.

Which speaker is better, the Soundcore Select Pro or the Soundocore Boom 2? 🤔
Love your reviews

Under 150 what is the best speaker 60w+ for both indoor and outdoor? Do the motion boom plus is the most vfm or you can give me a top 3?
Hi alan great video could you pretty please tell me which speaker goes lower - boom 2 or boom plus? Thanks 👍
Boom plus
Finally! 🍻
its not been that long 🤦♂️😁
Is Tribit Stormbox flow has more bass and power (fidelity) than maXsound plus?
You said: flow has some distortion in Xbass mode. Is it only at high volume? or sound distortion is there at every volume level?
Higher volumes but with latest firmware it's ok
@@alanrossreviews ok brother
Two Boom vs Two Boom 2?
2 Boom 2 Furious!
Desperately need to know how two boom 2 sound too from you !
Agreed. I love my two MB's. I'm considering upgrading to two of these if their TWS performs well.
I love your reviews
Thank you 👍
Having a single specialized woofer for low frequencies makes sense imo.
Its not a subwoofer, its just a normal woofer making the most of surface area but sacrificing imaging.
Yes, this is gonna be great!
well it will be long thats for sure 🤦♂🤦♂

I am looking for the best sounding speaker in terms of a quality listen at max volumes at the size of the motion boom/boom 2, if you could only pick one speaker of that size that hits those recs would you recommend one?
that makes no sense about maximum volume since it differs for all of them. there is no holy grail at this size, go bigger for a blast or go+ play 3
@@alanrossreviews sir yes sir 🫡
I want to buy a new speaker, and im thinking about Soundcore motion+, motion boom and new boom 2. I like deep bass, and the speaker will be used in quite noisy environment at my job (indoor). Can you recommend something out of that three speakers? It is worth to pay more for the new Boom 2? Also i don't care about portability, i just want the best sound for that range of money.
if you are battling noise the boom 2 makes most sense
@@alanrossreviewsOk, thank you. But what about overall sound quality and bass quality? Boom or Boom 2?

Hi Alan. Greeting from the Netherlands. I own the Soundcore Motion Boom and the Motion Boom +. Both great speakers. Should I purchase the Boom 2 in order to get a better sound??
Nah not much point if you have the other two. Save up and get the blast or go+ play 3 instead
@@alanrossreviews Thnx!
New originale Motion boom for 65 euros? or the new Boom 2 for 129 euros?
Or two booms for the win at basically the price of one boom 2 currently then 👍
I only got space and need for one speaker quite frankly 😊
Since they both only use SBC. Seems like the OG Motion boom is the best choice

bigger than the motion boom plus?
@@alanrossreviewsI don't think it does sound as 'big' as the motion boom plus, but it is miles smaller and for me at least, it sounds nicer.

I have a doubt, Alan.
For you, what is Anker’s best speaker?
For sheer value maybe motion boom when it's on sale at £60
Which would you guys recommend for a bass head .The Soundcore boom 2 vs W-King x10? Since both are marketed as a JBL Xtream Killer
You mean the boom 2 plus surely? The boom 2 is much smaller

Would u pick the boom 2 over the rave neo 2 ...wanna pick one up cant decide cause i see no comparison videos
Hum, neither are for me to be honest but id take neo 2.
The Anker Soundcore Boom 2 SE speaker went on sale on Aliexpress for the Russian market, the external one is the same, the difference is in the speakers, there are 2 of them, as in the regular Soundcore Boom.
cant understand if this is genuine or not, why would soundcore launch on aliexpress only?
@@alanrossreviewsit appears to be genuine as soundcore has a page describing the details including a $79.99 projected price.
The Boom 2SE is a totally different speaker, it uses two woofers, no tweeters and is rated at 30W. The casing and lights look same as Boom 2 though that's where the similarity ends.
The boom 2 supports ldac but the motion boom doesnt. Woudl yoi say this is worth it? Does it make a difference to the clarity? Thanks
a small difference

@@alanrossreviews haha don't tempt me! 🤣
For some reason I've seen a 48hz slider in the EQ of the Boom 2 in other videos. How come 60hz is the lowest you have? Out of date app maybe?
The passive is tuned at 60hz. You can push 48hz but you won't get any deeper bass.
@@nebojsanestorovic1416 are you saying the issues are about how stereo is mixed down to mono rather than the woofer then? in these bluetooth speakers you dont normally get a separate enclosure unless you truly have a subwoofer and need to isolate the mid drivers.
Anker soundcore boom 2 or Anker Rave Neo 2? Which ?
