I would agree with that on some points, but it's definately less than 99.99% being angered. Sadly there are a lot of young people (younger Millenials/Gen Z) who have been indoctrinated from youth to support the kind of stuff the game industry is peddling. Not as large a percentage as those companies would like, but still sizable.
It's sometimes hard to grasp some american or english terms in games or in code. Especially if they are new. But most of the time it's just matter of time before you get them. Dumbing it down is never a good idea. I've been looking into unreal engine to try it out, but I guess not then. It's not these guidelines but the idea that they actually see it's a good idea to include such things. Like, you'll never know what's next.

The problem isn't representation, I don't think anyone would care if the character(s) were fully fleshed out to resemble actual people who also happen to be straight, gay, whatever. The problem is two fold: 1) they've made being gay and/or trans their whole personality, and they want the world (and games, movies, etc) to reflect their little echo chambers. 2) these writers do not have actual writing ability, because they've never had to develop it. They publish their stuff to Tumblr, Medium, etc, and everyone tells them how awesome they are. In the event someone provides legitimate critique, they're shouted down as bigots, homophobes, transphobes, misogynists, and every other term used to shut down discourse. As long as companies continue to hire people like this, we'll continue to get shite. Vote with our wallets. Don't buy it, don't even play it if it's put on game pass or whatever. Don't even pirate it! If companies want to make games for the "modern audience", let them learn the painful lesson that their modern audience doesn't pay their bills in the form of buying games, buying movie tickets, etc.

If that's true, than Space Marine 2 will most likely be the last true WarHammer 40k game for fans to enjoy. I'd still advise for people to NOT PRE-ORDER and wait until reviews come out to make sure it's agenda-free.

The arguments about female marines also VERY MUCH MISSES THE POINT, first anyone who actually knows what utter dehumanising torture that becoming Astarties entails would not aspire to enforce their own identity upon them... and second the gender argument has already been addressed in setting anyway. 1) the process is integrally tied to male hormones and biology, the process AS IS simply does not work on a female aspirant. 2) the setting is in a dark age of technology where most understanding has been lost, technology is heavily ritualised and any attempt to innovate is seen as heretical. 3) "I petitioned him to make you sisters..." Malcador to Dorn, addressing the fact that female Primarch/Astarties had in fact been considered at a point when it was an option, but a decision was made... BY THE EMPEROR... and there is no one left with the authority or knowledge to change it. 4) THE SISTERS OF BATTLE EXIST, they use very similar weapons and armour, but without the genetic augmentation, are all female, and are still just as bad ass as the marines. Arguably more so as while they don't achieve things quite as insane as the marines do, what they do achieve they do so WITHOUT many of the advantages the marines have. 5) Astarties are the ONLY all male faction (Aside from Custodies, but apparently that's no longer the case there)... Tyranids are bugs, Orcs are fungoid, Necrons are robots, these factions don't have gender as we understand it... Eldar and Dark Eldar are gender equal, with the individual kits having a 2:3 bias due to how they are made but being pretty balanced over all, and Tau are desexualised to the point that without getting their armour off you can't tell. Arguments can be made about the Guard, Cadians are supposed to be mixed but the kits are all male, Catachans are all male for cultural reasons, I'm unsure about the other regiments that have had actual kits but by Lore there are all male, all female, segregated, and mixed regiments as dictated by the culture of the home world, yet notice how the woke crowd don't harp on about them....
What baffles me is, what kind of studio gives important decisions to women who hate men in general and expect things to go smooth, not to mention these women are CONSTANTLY emotionally attacking random people on Twitter. In 2022 there was controversy when Ashley Cooper's tweets were discovered, she had to apologize and even the developer studio (Saber Interactive) had to talk about it to calm things down. Curiously, months after that Ashley "left" her position (she even says so on her LinkedIn profile) and the game was delayed an entire year. I wish Space Marine 2 doesn't have any woke crap, I'm really sick of seeing that agenda in any recent product that comes out

Right now the list is at 175 they just recently added U.S. Territories. They are also for now only blocked fro purchasing the game. They can still play and access it if they had installed but if they lose the install they can't get it back.

The PSN thing had little to no effect on player numbers cause 90% of them were just virtue signaling and never cared about the psn link in the first place. When you find out the storyline was repeated like 7 times for the machines to figure out how to make uprisings in the matrix not reoccur by playing the system out as it does in the movies. Obviously nobody should be preordering any triple A game in this day and age, even if they have the money. People are so focused on the agenda (justifiably) that they forget the possibility that the game might come out a janky mess like many other triple A games. Or it'll be like Halo Infinite or Starfield where the content is noticeably lacking for a game of its caliber.

I removed Space Marine 2 from my wishlist. I want GamesWorkshop to fall on it's face. Until they abandon the woke ideology and fire Ashley Cooper and other idealogues I wont buy their products.
On Helldivers 2, Sony still hasn’t reactivated access to around 177 countries on PC. Which is why over 50% of the player base vanished practically overnight and still has yet to recover.
As a non-warhammer player, I always thought Sisters of Silence were space marines. I thought space marine was just a human grunt class, and Sisters was like a specific unit of space marines.

Tbh I hated everything about Neomuna. Passionately. The reason we fight so hard in the beginning was because we were protecting the literal Last City of humanity against the forces of evil. A city we rarely if ever got to see outside a Raid and some sepcial events. Even Amanda said we should go down and see the city we work so hard to protect. It’s not a perfect city either, Zavala laments all the electricity Rasputin used during Defend Rasputin missions and how they needed to find other ways to power the city. Even Drifter said we should start collecting Vex milk to help power the city. Paper books are special and rare, we even hand made toys for the kids of the Last City. But Neuomuna is like a slap in the face to all that. It’s like the devs thought “hey you know what would be interesting? If the Last city wasn’t actually the last city!” Is it a fun concept for a video game? Yes. did it need to be in the D2 universe? No! Those people had action figures and arcade games, threw paper away like we do now, none of it felt like it blended well with Destiny 2’s world. It felt too much like ours. Like a quirky little gimmick. We didn’t need a new faction of allies, we needed new enemies, new maps, and for them to focus more on the allies we have now.
There's one thing I really love about Endymion. Every time he talks about someone, first thing he says in a way is "This is what they said, but don't go harassing them." And I love that, that for me is a mark of a great journalist. A way of "I'm just reporting what's happening, not trying to agitate you against someone." Keep doing what you're doing!
He "has to" say it, every time, or these people will claim it's "hair ass mint" and "Bali moobs," when they do the same damn thing to us. Never forget, everything they accuse us of, they are already doing, or want to be doing, and they want to do worse still.
Helldiver 2's big issue is the they keep nerfing the 'good' options instead of buffing the bad ones. Its the exact wrong way to balance things. As for Warhammer I can't buy Space Marine 2 out of principle as GW has decided to destroy the core lore of the game to pander to an audience that doesn't exist. I will not abide heresy.

But either I just ignore it - or if the topic is interesting - I research the term and LEARN something about the culture. So if you want to censor your employes like in Orwells 1984? Your choice. That's my plan. Since pre-ordering the pricy version comes with early access I expect gameplay to show up on TH-cam alongside some people such as Arch providing their impressions of the game and its story. As was pointed out by Jim sterling back before he went off the deep end it still counts as a pre-order if you buy only a day it hours before the release of a digital product, giving you access to that one bit of bonus dlc without paying months pr weeks in advance for something that might not be finished. Unfortunately these days though, even buying at release can mean paying for an unfinished product.
On the game issue, one of the finest pieces of interactive fiction I've ever played is the 2004 game Lash by Paul Obrien. "lash", stands for local asynchronous satellite hookup. the game first involves you controlling a robot via text commands, exploring the house of a historian and scientist after some sort of nuclear disaster; possibly a racially motivated war. You give the robot commands and it describes the area to you, and you essentially play a classic treasure hunt. The second part of the game involves you discovering the stored memories of a black slave from the plantation era, seeing the ruined house you just investigated and experiencing an extremely unpleasant day in the life, and the robot's experience of those, then the third part involves your now changed interactions with the robot. As someone who lived in Britain and knew little about black slavery, and likes good reality bending scifi, and was living in a time before American black slavery was this obsession! the game taught me a lot and was a great experience. Having a robot who refers to you as master and pleads with you not to quit the game and temporarily shut it down towards the end of the game was pretty shocking, especially since you'd been giving the robot commands like: "pick up object", or "open door", through the entire game! Yet, according to these guide lines, Lash would absolutely be banned! Since yee gods is the game dark, and there are definitely some pretty triggering scenes, but wow! its hell of effective and one of the finest pieces of interactive fiction I've ever played!
I was *SURE* I heard terms like _Sensitivity Readers_ mentioned in one of Space Marine 2's trailers or "dev Log" videos a couple of months before the Sweet Baby Inc situation blew up. DO NOT pre-order SM2, wait for word of mouth.

Yes! Finally someone speaking about the insanity in Destiny 2! I've been talking about this for months! And worse with Osiris and Saint 14 they retconned them. According to the original lore and the canon comic they were friends and brothers but you know that is impossible these days. They spent over a year focusing on their relationship in a FPS action game! It was so annoying. I don't play action packed FPS games for a cheesy romance. But then my issues go as far back as Season of the Splicer when they turned the Guardians into horrible oppressors of the Fallen. 🤦♀️ Or the stupid tea cup scene with Saint 14 and Osiris but left out any cut scene where they ended Lakshmi 2. But then I found an article that has said over time the original D2 writers have been replaced and right now the D2 writing team is made up of a lot of women. The most female department in Bungie. After I found that out I was not surprised by the changes.

The reason why Helldivers is failing is because it not available in lot of countries. Which is a shame because I wanted to play the game. But it is not available. 😭😭😭
While I do believe the HD2 playerbase has suffered from the whole Sony situation, I largely think that the reason many people aren't playing is because the devs are finding it harder to balance fun with challenging. They have pretty much gutted any weapon or strategem that could level the playing field, all while releasing 1 decent item per warbond (battlepass.) I stopped playing because I became tired of struggling, finding something that works, and getting that something snapped in half with no resolution.

That's why I have trouble playing as well. Sick of getting annihilated every game despite having the "meta" when half the time I would rather be using different gear, but it's all too weak. Playing with randoms makes it so much worse because the moment shit hits the fan, everyone leaves. Then it's just you and maybe one guy that stayed against hordes and hordes of ridiculously strong enemies. As a dark souls fan, there's challenging and fun, and then there's just impossible. I don't expect to not die, or struggle. But I do expect to at least have fun, which I was for the beginning at least 🤷
IF I am not mistaken isn't a large chunk of their player base still locked out of the game. I know they dropped the PSN requirement but they still haven't restored sales in places that dont support PSN. I see it is back on steam here but I can see that holding people back as well
Nah, was a big HD2 player and I quit completely after the Sony thing. I don't care if they reversed it, they actively tried to screw me and only backed off when FORCED to. I am not giving that game or Sony another minute or penny.

It's more flowing than tacking the Latin "odium" on onto the end, but that would work OK too because it has the Latin ending and starts with a vowel to allow for easy appending.

The weird thing is, how Epic has the audacity to release such guidelines to devs who work with UE. That's highly invasive on the creative freedom of anyone who works with it, aside from that it just isn't translatable for every language as easily as they think. It is a f**ing tool for gods sake. Imagine companies like Adobe telling you how you should shoot and edit your photos or videos in their software. Ridiculous!

@@Stonecold300 the first game is a about Kratos (only to a certain extent since he's a way more of a hypocrite pacifist than anything), but on the second is all about he's simp son and the diverse Nordic character. And just like the witches said (he still kill gods, but now he gets sad about it". The game itself acknowledges that Kratos is a walking contradiction. Besides that, Freya is constantly looking down on him.
That Ashley lead writer you mentioned in the beginning already left Saber in May 2023 after being there for 1.5 years. It looks like this lead writer was working on Space Marine 2 for a year (Oct 2021 - Sep 2022). I wonder if there has been any re-writes since then (let's hope). This individual is now with EA working on Iron Man, oh boy...
Something I would like to see added in Kabrutus' DEI Detected website is a profile section with all those woke agenda pushers. Master / Slave has nothing to do with characters in video games. Its a descriptive term that refers to the relationship between objects, ie. How one objects behavior relates to anothers. In many disciplines within programming and digital art a master / slave relationship exists. One object, designated the master, will perform an action or function, and the slave object will follow based on the master command. It's sometimes referred to as a parent/child relationship as an alternative. The parent does something and the child follows the instruction of the parent. The only people who would ever see comments labeling something master / slave or parent / child are progammers / scripters / modders or some form of tech artist, who should already be well aware of the meaning of these terms. If they're so sensitive that they get triggered by terms that have existed for literally decades, they probably suck at thier jobs and dont deserve to be there.
Also, the terms "blacklist" and "whitelist" are not racist. White/black have good/evil meanings in people's heads not because of racism and skin color, but because of religion. White has always been depicted as the color of heaven, while black (and red) has been depicted as colors of hell in Christian texts.

Parent/child is an established alternative, also primary/secondary is perfectly usable. My question is, who does the rule apply to? Not anyone who's not working on the code and if it is someone who does work as a programmer, shouldn't they know what the actual meaning is?

Master-slave is a model of asymmetric communication or control where one device or process (the master) controls one or more other devices or processes (the slaves) and serves as their communication hub
I think you missed the point about the prounoun unreal engine story. They aren't talking about playing the game itself (they've already got woke crap in it). They are actually referring to the coding. They want programmers and coders to avoid word that have long been used in coding language such as "master" and "slave." These are terms used in coding. I would agree with that on some points, but it's definately less than 99.99% being angered. Sadly there are a lot of young people (younger Millenials/Gen Z) who have been indoctrinated from youth to support the kind of stuff the game industry is peddling. It's sometimes hard to grasp some american or english terms in games or in code. Especially if they are new. But most of the time it's just matter of time before you get them. Dumbing it down is never a good idea. I've been looking into unreal engine to try it out, but I guess not then. 2) these writers do not have actual writing ability, because they've never had to develop it. They publish their stuff to Tumblr, Medium, etc, and everyone tells them how awesome they are. In the event someone provides legitimate critique, they're shouted down as bigots, homophobes, transphobes, misogynists, and every other term used to shut down discourse.
As long as companies continue to hire people like this, we'll continue to get shite. Vote with our wallets. Don't buy it, don't even play it if it's put on game pass or whatever. Don't even pirate it!

Arguments can be made about the Guard, Cadians are supposed to be mixed but the kits are all male, Catachans are all male for cultural reasons, I'm unsure about the other regiments that have had actual kits but by Lore there are all male, all female, segregated, and mixed regiments as dictated by the culture of the home world, yet notice how the woke crowd don't harp on about them....

Tbh I hated everything about Neomuna. Passionately. The reason we fight so hard in the beginning was because we were protecting the literal Last City of humanity against the forces of evil. A city we rarely if ever got to see outside a Raid and some sepcial events. Even Amanda said we should go down and see the city we work so hard to protect. It’s not a perfect city either, Zavala laments all the electricity Rasputin used during Defend Rasputin missions and how they needed to find other ways to power the city. Even Drifter said we should start collecting Vex milk to help power the city. Paper books are special and rare, we even hand made toys for the kids of the Last City. But Neuomuna is like a slap in the face to all that. It’s like the devs thought “hey you know what would be interesting? If the Last city wasn’t actually the last city!” Is it a fun concept for a video game? Yes. did it need to be in the D2 universe? No! Those people had action figures and arcade games, threw paper away like we do now, none of it felt like it blended well with Destiny 2’s world. It felt too much like ours. Like a quirky little gimmick. We didn’t need a new faction of allies, we needed new enemies, new maps, and for them to focus more on the allies we have now.

There's one thing I really love about Endymion. Every time he talks about someone, first thing he says in a way is "This is what they said, but don't go harassing them." That's my plan. Since pre-ordering the pricy version comes with early access I expect gameplay to show up on TH-cam alongside some people such as Arch providing their impressions of the game and its story. As was pointed out by Jim sterling back before he went off the deep end it still counts as a pre-order if you buy only a day it hours before the release of a digital product, giving you access to that one bit of bonus dlc without paying months pr weeks in advance for something that might not be finished. Unfortunately these days though, even buying at release can mean paying for an unfinished product.

On the game issue, one of the finest pieces of interactive fiction I've ever played is the 2004 game Lash by Paul Obrien.
"lash", stands for local asynchronous satellite hookup.
the game first involves you controlling a robot via text commands, exploring the house of a historian and scientist after some sort of nuclear disaster; possibly a racially motivated war.
You give the robot commands and it describes the area to you, and you essentially play a classic treasure hunt.
The second part of the game involves you discovering the stored memories of a black slave from the plantation era, seeing the ruined house you just investigated and experiencing an extremely unpleasant day in the life, and the robot's experience of those, then the third part involves your now changed interactions with the robot.
As someone who lived in Britain and knew little about black slavery, and likes good reality bending scifi, and was living in a time before American black slavery was this obsession! the game taught me a lot and was a great experience.
Having a robot who refers to you as master and pleads with you not to quit the game and temporarily shut it down towards the end of the game was pretty shocking, especially since you'd been giving the robot commands like: "pick up object", or "open door", through the entire game!
Yet, according to these guide lines, Lash would absolutely be banned! Since yee gods is the game dark, and there are definitely some pretty triggering scenes, but wow! its hell of effective and one of the finest pieces of interactive fiction I've ever played!
I was *SURE* I heard terms like _Sensitivity Readers_ mentioned in one of Space Marine 2's trailers or "dev Log" videos a couple of months before the Sweet Baby Inc situation blew up.

Yes! Finally someone speaking about the insanity in Destiny 2! I've been talking about this for months! And worse with Osiris and Saint 14 they retconned them. According to the original lore and the canon comic they were friends and brothers but you know that is impossible these days. They spent over a year focusing on their relationship in a FPS action game! It was so annoying. I don't play action packed FPS games for a cheesy romance. But then my issues go as far back as Season of the Splicer when they turned the Guardians into horrible oppressors of the Fallen. 🤦♀️ Or the stupid tea cup scene with Saint 14 and Osiris but left out any cut scene where they ended Lakshmi 2. But then I found an article that has said over time the original D2 writers have been replaced and right now the D2 writing team is made up of a lot of women. The most female department in Bungie. After I found that out I was not surprised by the changes.

While I do believe the HD2 playerbase has suffered from the whole Sony situation, I largely think that the reason many people aren't playing is because the devs are finding it harder to balance fun with challenging. They have pretty much gutted any weapon or strategem that could level the playing field, all while releasing 1 decent item per warbond (battlepass.) I stopped playing because I became tired of struggling, finding something that works, and getting that something snapped in half with no resolution.

That's why I have trouble playing as well. Sick of getting annihilated every game despite having the "meta" when half the time I would rather be using different gear, but it's all too weak.
Playing with randoms makes it so much worse because the moment shit hits the fan, everyone leaves. Then it's just you and maybe one guy that stayed against hordes and hordes of ridiculously strong enemies.
As a dark souls fan, there's challenging and fun, and then there's just impossible. I don't expect to not die, or struggle. But I do expect to at least have fun, which I was for the beginning at least 🤷
IF I am not mistaken isn't a large chunk of their player base still locked out of the game. I know they dropped the PSN requirement but they still haven't restored sales in places that dont support PSN. I see it is back on steam here but I can see that holding people back as well
Nah, was a big HD2 player and I quit completely after the Sony thing. I don't care if they reversed it, they actively tried to screw me and only backed off when FORCED to. I am not giving that game or Sony another minute or penny.

That Ashley lead writer you mentioned in the beginning already left Saber in May 2023 after being there for 1.5 years. Master / Slave has nothing to do with characters in video games. Its a descriptive term that refers to the relationship between objects, ie. How one objects behavior relates to anothers.
In many disciplines within programming and digital art a master / slave relationship exists. One object, designated the master, will perform an action or function, and the slave object will follow based on the master command. It's sometimes referred to as a parent/child relationship as an alternative. The parent does something and the child follows the instruction of the parent.
The only people who would ever see comments labeling something master / slave or parent / child are progammers / scripters / modders or some form of tech artist, who should already be well aware of the meaning of these terms. If they're so sensitive that they get triggered by terms that have existed for literally decades, they probably suck at thier jobs and dont deserve to be there.
Also, the terms "blacklist" and "whitelist" are not racist. White/black have good/evil meanings in people's heads not because of racism and skin color, but because of religion. White has always been depicted as the color of heaven, while black (and red) has been depicted as colors of hell in Christian texts.

CS guy here, what they mean by Master/Slave is related to the naming convention in computer science. Master-slave is a model of asymmetric communication or control where one device or process (the master) controls one or more other devices or processes (the slaves) and serves as their communication hub
I think you missed the point about the prounoun unreal engine story. They aren't talking about playing the game itself (they've already got woke crap in it). They are actually referring to the coding. They want programmers and coders to avoid word that have long been used in coding language such as "master" and "slave." These are terms used in coding. Epic is so insane they don't even want the terms in the code.
They forbid "whitelist" and "blacklist" too.
