I know there’s no update on the game yet. But what makes me excited is that Saber Interactive is also now doing the Knights Of The Old Republic Remake.
This was the best decision Lucasfilm Games could have made. Aspyr is falling apart, and some of the statements made about how they wanted to handle the remake didn't invoke excitement. Not to mention, they don't exactly make games, they just port them. Granted Saber was also porting games, but they at least have this game to put on their resume, and that is one hell of a game to have on there.
Holy shit that is great news, such a stream of crap Star Wars games recently I was not looking forward to the KOTOR remake. But hell if Saber do it as well as they have done with with Space Marine they can just take my money already.

So many memorable parts of space marine 2 campaign but the moment I realized running straight through the cultists would kill them will always be a truly epicmoment in gaming for me
Because they made the game for the established fan base and not new players, it sent me down a TH-cam lore video rabbit hole and now I’m collecting and painting my own Adeptus Mechanicus army. It made me intrigued and curious about everything I didn’t understand instead of handholding me, and now I’m part of the fan base.
"Thrives on simplicity." Reminds me of questing in Elwynn Forest in WoW. Some of my best memories in gaming consisted of blacksmithing beginner armor sets and two-handed swords to take down the elementary foes encroaching on my land. Awesome video, sir.
Patrolling the mines of Hoxes IV almost makes you wish for a “why is deep rock galactic so awesome!?!?” Video by the act man. Can I get a rock and stone!?!!
my time to shine. I've been in love with the lore and the setting of 40k for most of my life, 25 years at least. I'm THAT GUY that could list off all the fun tidbits that they throw in your face and talk for HOURS why they're awesome. I only found ONE issue, and that's handwaved away by the fact that no matter what you color your marine, you're still on an ultramarine battle barge. that's it... a toilet seat on some pieces of paper. THAT'S the fuckup, and it's not a fuckup.
@@TheLordofMetroids Yeah, I'd advice beginners to start with some of the smaller games. Kill Team, Necromunda or Shadespire for example. See if you can stomach building and painting 6-12 models before committing to 50+. 😅
@@havcola6983yeah definitely buy a single character or box of Space Marines to see if you'll stick with the hobby. I have a family friend that got into 40k from SM2 and they went out and bought 1k Points of Space Marines.. they've never painted or built models before or researched it. The hilarious part was he called me up when his order got delivered and asked me the most hilarious question ever... "Uhm mine are grey and unbuilt, did I buy the wrong boxes or did they send me the wrong item because the cover shows colored figures" I died laughing and asked "did you actually research the models or scroll through the pics or read the damn description" They thought the models come painted and put together in the box. He had no glue, no paint, no snips, nothing for the hobby. Thought it was "open and play". I told em they were models before he purchased them... and to only buy a single box to see if he would actually stick with the hobby.
There's even a meme comic page where dom and Marcus are saying like "take cover if you want to survive" and then a space marine runs past them over their cover saying "COVER IS FOR PUSSIES, FOR THE EMPEROR!"
THQ published a poster for space marine 1. A bunch of guardsman cowering behind a wall with Titus charging straight through with the words "COVER IS FOR THE WEAK".

Not alive, but how many years he served. I believe he was locked and tortured in Inquisition for a hundred years due to some book, and then served for another 100 in the Deathwatch. So I believe he is over 300 years old now.

These guys made an MVP, it did its job, and now their adding all the shit that another game wouldv hyped up and never delivered.
Ive seen some grifters trying to hate on the game, and its painfully obvious what theyre doing. So so happy to see this game getting the love it deserves.
I love the addition of the two multiplayer modes as it feels like back then when every game came out with multiplayer modes, not to be the next esport but simply to have more content and fun with your friends.
Long time 40k nerd and model collector here 6:52, From what has come out, Games Workshop was also very hands on when it came to stuff like the armor of the space marines, making sure it was absolutely correct to the in-universe design and also in other places like how enemies attack. As they are rather protective of their IP, here I think it was a positive, but sometimes they can be somewhat overbearing. Something really cool in this game is the 'in the head' dialogue and such is different for each character in the campaign. There is a moment where Titus hears Gadriel say something heretical (like about using the artifact for themselves) and upon Titus questioning it, the other characters reveal they heard nothing. If you are playing as Chairon or Gadriel, you wouldn't hear any dialogue other than when Titus questions something nobody said. Additionally, when fighting Imurah, he tries to corrupt each space marine by saying different dialogue to 'turn the squad against one another'. Pretty cool stuff.
@slaughter I totally agree. I swear no one in this comment section has actually played space marine 2, certainly not for a long period of time. The game is fucking awful. At around 18:00 I really don't want to be that guy but... you managed to pick the ONE EVENT with multiple squads doing stuff simultaneously that they DID NOT make an extra operation for. Practically every other major setpiece has an accompanying operation or two... but weirdly enough not the obelisks. Like, there's the promethium burn on kadaku to buy everyone time to evac, taking out the hive tyrant and the warp jamming in the hive city while MC squad goes to call big papa backup, taking out the warp beacon while Titus and co are suborbital dropping to the grave world, launching the ancient battle barge to smash the silver tower while the main squad holds a nav beacon so it can actually hit its target... and then... like... an epilogue mission back at the hive city, doing cleanup ops. That last battle is just glossed over in operations. I hope they add missions covering it.
They most likely ran out of time when developing the operations and had to leave it cut off at three. I imagine that the 6th operation was meant to be something used for a story DLC, or a hint at Titus's next mission (that whether will be a story DLC, or a third game we don't know yet) but its also possible it was intentionally supposed to be a meaningless operation because 99% of the missions the imperium takes part in are useless beyond killing Xenos at every possible opportunity. Or whats more likely is this was their tech demo level for the swarm and they repurposed it into an operation for us to play in. They did delay the game because the swarm tech was too much for lower end PC's. So they likely made that level in mind with being able to properly test the swarm. At least i can hope
@@thefallencog I hadn't considered the possibility that mission 6 was a tech demo level. To be clear regardless, I'm not BOTHERED by the sandstorm and train mission's inclusion. I just think it's a but odd how they have the Operations squads very obviously off doing part of the obelisk sequence but then we don't get to play those sections. Maybe it just didn't end up unique enough from the campaign sections to be worth the limited pre-release dev time. It's all speculation from me any way it slices.

Warhammer lore juinkie here. Ive been playing tabletop for 24 years and have read over 100 of the books, a lot of my most watched channels on YT and lsitend to podcasts are warhammer lore content. I have to points to make with that established. 1: The fact that you have clearly no idea what is going on in the setting and still loved this game is awesome and proof that the game is just good on its own. 2: The lore accuracy of the game is top notch and I am loving every second of it.
You mentioned how the PvE ties directly to the Campaign and it made me remember how Mass Effect 3 multiplayer did that with the story mode. Every time you fought back the reapers on the multiplayer maps with your buddies you would see your war effort in the main game slowly go up as the Reapers lost control of those areas. It gave you incentive to play multiplayer and also made you feel like your efforts actually mattered. Gosh I wish games would go back to doing those kinds of creative things instead of being so one dimensional. 😅
The reason the characters, vehicles and setpieces in the game are so faithful to the reallife tabletop miniatures is that the developers literally scanned minis from the tabletop to put them in the game and it's fucking awesome!
SM2 has been the most OG fun I’ve had in years. It’s the only game outside of what has been a core group of like 4 or 5 games I play consistently that genuinely gets me excited to play at the end of the day. Shout out the team that made this gem
I was honestly shocked that so far, the PVP has hooked me as much as it has. Refreshing playing a slower paced game that prioritizes sticking with your team and rewards playing smart and knowing when to engage and when to retreat based on your class and abilities. PVP has been my favorite part of the game which has been a pleasant surprise.

It's not 100% accurate, and it's a little outdated, but it is the best overview of the universe ive seen.
Didn't the CEO of the company behind this game even comment about how it pains him to see other gaming companies hammering the same tired message over gamers head repeatedly and how people just want to be entertained. Of course journalist tried to hunt him down afterwards to confirm he really said such a thing. What an absolute Legend
Which would explain why Space Marine 2 isn't on the list for the golden joystick awards aswell as other games that these people disapprove of. It's crazy that there's people getting mad at the anti woke crowd but saying nothing towards the woke crowd. Both are getting out of control not just one
@@TheDragonDogmaPeople used to get mad at the woke crowd but the anti-woke crowd has gotten worse over the years so of course folks get more mad at them. Especially when every anti-woke product ends up being a financial rug pull.

This was the best decision Lucasfilm Games could have made. Aspyr is falling apart, and some of the statements made about how they wanted to handle the remake didn't invoke excitement.

I imagine that the 6th operation was meant to be something used for a story DLC, or a hint at Titus's next mission (that whether will be a story DLC, or a third game we don't know yet)
but its also possible it was intentionally supposed to be a meaningless operation because 99% of the missions the imperium takes part in are useless beyond killing Xenos at every possible opportunity.
Or whats more likely is this was their tech demo level for the swarm and they repurposed it into an operation for us to play in. They did delay the game because the swarm tech was too much for lower end PC's. So they likely made that level in mind with being able to properly test the swarm. At least i can hope
They are adding more here soon
