Edit: Since this comment is getting more recognition I just wanted to put more facts about this movie. Ross Lynch felt oddly "at home" when they first began filming in Jeffrey Dahmer's actual childhood home. People who actually went to school with Dahmer complimented Ross so much on how he was portraying to his character so realistically. The writer of the graphic novel and Ross were having a conversation at the Dahmer house when Derf asked Ross to take off his glasses because he was creeped out by his resemblance. The art director noticed Ross was a little different, he later said to him that he was a little weird being Dahmer. After filming Ross said that it took him some time to be as social as he once was.
I heard the people who knew Dahmer would tell Ross to take his glasses off when speaking to them because of the haunting resemblance

Lowkey used to laugh that Ross Lynch was going to be in this but now seeing this, I think it actually looks quite good. I'd love to see a newer more informational version of his story since most of the docs you find on Dahmer are quite dated.
I don't have a fascination with any serial killers, it just intrigues me to know their story and what pushed them to do what they did. I strive to figure out how their brain works, THAT is what interests me. So call me sick for wanting to understand such a demented mind, but I don't idolize anyone like him or glorify what they did.

I would be more interested to know about Dahmer's killer. I heard his reasoning for killing Dahmer was because he and the other inmates hated how egotistical Dahmer was towards them and his murder career, the story about Dahmer's killer being told by God to kill him was supposedly a ruse.

Serial killers are quite interesting for me because I love criminology & I really wanna understand how they think. Finally a trailer that made me feel kinda creeped out because of his outburts & I actually understand them , but I'm 99,99 % excited for this movie . I know that this is gonna be a good movie and I can't wait to see this it.

It's an interesting fact that Jeffrey was a Army Combat Medic stationed in Baumholder Germany. He was very skilled at it and treated his patients well according to his military records. It's a shame. He could have made a honorable career in the military but only served 5 years. If he had stayed in, I firmly believe that he wouldn't have done those horrendous acts. Just my honest opinion of course. .

I don’t think they ever consider the fact that this man still has living victims. The families of the people that were lost don’t see the entertainment value in this. I remember the trials of Dahmer as a child, while my parents watched the news. He is definitely passable in his facial features as a younger Dahmer.

I did some work for a company in richfield ohio years ago. About 3 of the workers there were about my age. They said they had graduated from nearby revere high school and dahmer was in their class. They told me some really bizzare stories about how he acted in school.

Am I the only one who is so excited for people to see the other side of a serial killer? People hear murderer and immediately make their judgements but never take a moment to understand all of the things that led the individual to that point. I truly hope this opens the eyes of a lot of people.

Jeffrey Dahmer is my favorite serial killer. He is such an interesting human being. Don't get the wrong idea- he should not have killed those poor males. I hate what he did to them. Just find him intriguing is all. Will definitely be watching this.

It's not showing him as a victim. If anything, Dahmer's story is a cautionary tale to parents of red flags in their kids. I've read a ton about Dahmer, and between his parents hostile divorce, his mother's emotional instability, and his struggles with his sexuality, he became a wicked alcoholic to cope. His drunkenness later emboldened him to do the horrific things he did. But after his first murder (which he did while drunk), he was also arrested several times for public drunkenness, indecent exposure, and masturbating in front of kids. All these arrests, and no intervention was taken to get this guy some serious help...And not sure how you know "he's burning in hell." But alright.

It's accuracy, really. The past is studded with physically attractive serial killers. Dahmer, Ted Bundy, and Richard Ramirez, to name a few. All of them got fan-mail not because of their evil deeds, but because of their looks--which is just as sickening.
Many serial killers were, if not goodlooking, at least very compelling and charming. That's how they got to their victims

Having studied Jeffrey's psychic for around 6 months for school, this stuff really gets in your head. I can't imagine playing him. The persona of him is so twisted and dark while at the same time looking into it makes you pity him in a sick sort of way.

I was skeptical about Ross playing Dahmer initially but he seems to have really immersed himself in the role and I'd totally pay money to see this.
People fascinate, it's crazy how powerful our brain and thoughts can be. Makes me more interested in their psychology. Even though working in the forensic psychology field can take a toll on the most healthiest of brains. I think the more we learn about the more we can learn to spot people before they get to their violent outburst. I am very excited for the movie! Makes me more excited to follow this path as a career!

What a sumptuous transformation from Austin & Ally to My Friend Dahmer, Ross looks good in it, the film looks intriguing and all other actors do likewise. Will this be hitting the big screen or is it one of those Sundance Festival type movie...either way I would really love to go see it.
Ross did such an amazing job at this that I keep getting chills.
