Hi Rob! just saw your channel and this video for the first time today. My very first thought 2 mins into the video is that you have found the Filipina version of Andie MacDowell. Wishing you all the best with this beautiful woman.
It always seems to be something. My GF wants to go visit her parents for the holiday this next week. Bus tickets are 8000PHP for her and the 2 kids. Not in the budget. These expenses are ALWAYS coming up. I haven’t had 1 month that didn’t have an extra unanticipated expense. If you live in the Philippines and live like you’re on vacation you definitely need a larger budget.
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines The price is for a bus ride and a ferry to go from Manila to another island, Samar and then another bus ride to her parent’s town and then the return process. As always - great contribution. Packed with info for potential immigrants to the Philippines. One of the smartest decisions you listed when discussing your Budget is to control your spending to not drive a scooter. How you are organized now - you could run your expenses down quickly if needed. A motor accident however could put all that into jeopordy pretty fast. As a foreigner - you would find it difficult to get a fair judgment if you should hurt somebody. Or - the other way around - you could hurt yourself to the point you need long term medical care that might not be available at your level of expectations. The word "play" comes up a lot in your discussion - yes you two - play but play it safe. Life is too good to risk anything.

Sorry, but hitting a ball with a stick, throwing it through a hoop, or running with it doesn't hold my interest. These are things ANYBODY can do. I need something that requires special skills. I come to the Phils for 2 1/2 mo to escape a New England winter. After 4 trips I've found the right girl to bring back to the USA. I'll guess I've got $64K invested. LTRs are difficult to maintain. We have survived and a new chapter is about to begin. Although we have a GREAT difference between our ages, there are no kids involved. She looks forward to becoming an American, and I look forward to becoming her teacher. The Phils was the answer for me!
IMO $125 a month is extremely expensive for a scooter, I don't think a lot of long term expats are doing that. A Click cost like 80k, you have paid for the thing in 12 months. That's newbee/tourist pricing. Buying my 11 month old Click and using and selling after owning it for 18 months cost me $15 a month in Thailand excluding gas (includes transfer fees, depreciation, oil changes, etc). I totally understand the safety concerns but it's dirt cheap transport if your willing to take the risk. Good video, thanks
Can you put on your list for future video's. Best places to Surf. Beginner, intermediate, advanced. Quality of lodging, food and Safety. Thanks p.s. also fishing village video and foodie video for best seafood village.😊
The last thing I’d want to do is want to try to “keep up” with people. I’d prefer to do what pleases me. I am long over the competition phase with people. I’m retired, own my own home, I have my hobbies and friends and I feel no desire to buy a new car because my neighbor just bought a new Mercedes or take an expensive holiday to Europe just so I can brag that I’ve been to Paris or Italy again. Been there, done that, now I live for myself.

Hahaha been watching some of your videos and it's pretty fun to see people that doesn't know what they doing explain to others what to experience or expect ... Especially fun when you criticize other Vloggers that have a lot of experience that you obviously don't have ...
all that outdoor places to visit..attractions...pools....waterfalls etc...sounds like you need a car if you dont think its safe on motorcycles...guess....getting to these places are the biggest problem....sounds like not too many connecting buses...if you havent top dollar....
Rob and Chrissy 🙌 have a beautiful weekend , Pay To Play with a Filipina , very true . told my fiancée that's why we start business is hybrid store in her home town has cloths/ sari sari / milk tea shop so it would pay the reg bills and i can used my pension for travel and stuff. 3 more years tell retired work and buy stuff we need for the home and store.
Love CDO. So much to do. Just the way all the shopping is within a mile or so. A single guy living in Centrio or Ayala towers would be in heaven. Everything within walking distance you need. I stayed at Centrio in Feb. Probably settle in a more suburban area though as the soon to be wife wants a couple chickens and maybe a pig a year, lol.
I think sometimes its great to go out even if u go out once a month maybe to a restaurant or for something or maybe every 3months depends on your budget cau when a holiday comes up in your girlfriend country u will go to that event and its going cost so just have holidays and play money
140,000 Php a month? No way I'm swinging that without depleting my emergency cash.(In other words, not going to happen.) But, I don't golf never liked it, I'm not interested in living like I'm on vacation. After discussing at length, indeed there are places my girl and I want to visit and we will. But we are content spending quality time together. One of my hobbies is cooking and she's a chef, so outings for us will be as simple and practical as heading into town for the markets. We will be living in the Provence so trips to town will be an overnight excursion. Also giving us a chance to catch a movie maybe sample some local cuisine, Karaoke Ect. What separates my girl from any other I've encountered is, she absolutely does not like spending money frivolously and does not seek a lavish life. I will do nothing to alter that sentiment, spending can derail the best laid out plans and becomes a hard habit almost impossible to break.
Yes, I agree. You have to be careful not to alter that sentiment. I never golfed until I came to the Philippines I have a friend who’s older than me and he’s very very active and he has been my role model to start doing more and more things in my retirement.
Well if you’ve not got 10k ya cannot spend that..me thinks you should be trying before ya buy for a substantial period unless your about to kick the bucket..Filipino don’t jump in straight away with marriage etc. So why do foreigners ? 🧐… I’m in my 5th year and getting married next year and it will be 6 years.. but I’m with a modern city girl.
@@Eric-qm5xw Well people try. People try all the time to set up "pen pal" type online LDR because they like to feel like they have a girl friend and they dont even mind sending a little money because its like a hobby to them. I've seen it. Some very good friends of mine that were sweet, good girls get their hearts broken waiting for a man that never shows up. Or, he strings her along and uses her as a vacation rental instead of acting with honor and just leasing a bar girl. I hate seeing that because there are some very good sweet girls over there and being treated like that, is not good for anyone. Its not good for her, its not good for us men, and its certainly not good for society in general. And timeline depends on your perspective and goals. I am a very results oriented objective person. I think the most common mistake people make are they think that being a wife or husband vs just being a girl friend or boyfriend is an "upgrade". We say, well if she and I get along and she doesnt give me too much crap, and doesnt try to CHANGE me, then maybe we can get married. Sure would be nice to have some steady kitty cat that I could trust. Yea. Well the problem is, marriage is change. If yu cant roll with that, you've got no business getting married. Kids are change. Guess what happens 90% of the time when you have a girl move in with you and you have an extra room in the house? Like your gaming room? It gets filled. Repurposed. You're painting those walls pink before you know it. Decide that you want to get married. Decide that you want to be a husband, and a father. Then look for a girl that wants the same thing and see if you two can get along and make it work. Focus on the objective. The puropose, the goal. Getting into a relationship and getting trapped or trapping a girl that didnt want these changes or didnt want to make the commitment is a recipe for DISASTER. Thats how people "grow apart"
Ok so I have 2 questions about this: 1. Do you have any expenses - yourself - that you have to cover back in the US? (some of us do) and Dos: where in the Phil’s do you get vegetables that last 2 weeks? I’m lucky to have them 4 days before they start going bad and that’s refrigerated … jussayin’
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines Thanks, I only ask because I’m still paying a house in MD and the water, WiFi and HOAs and my daughter pays a little less than half of the mortgage. That really cuts into my discretionary spending here but still do OK ….
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines thank you. As a veteran I am looking at Manila or Cebu area. Any thoughts on best places for Disabled Veterans? I love BJJ, Muay Thai, weight Training, and above all telling people about JESUS. One other thought... what are some good banking institutions that I can use both in the states and in the PH? Keep up the great work as I really enjoy the content. You both are funny!!!
You seem so in love and happy with Chrissy as the smile on your face shows it. You are correct that it costs to play regardless of country but here in NY, put another digit in your number 😅.
Gonna be fun riding a Hog with all the trikes, scooters, and trucks banging into each other all around you!🤣 I wonder why there aren't a lot of motards there? You know, say a Honda 250-450 single with street tires? Maneuverability, power to get out of trouble, plus manage the potholes, dirt roads and such of a 3rd world country? Just a thought.
@@bigjohnson7415I'm a big guy. My first bike was a 250 Helix back in the late 80s, and I was abut 60lbs less than I am now, and I STILL outgrew that bike in no time flat. Next bike was a Suzuki 450L. Literally a girls bike. I bought it off a coworker. It was his wife's bike. Outgrew it quick too. 3rd bike was a Yamaha XS850SG. Sweet bike. Loved that bike. Triple. Shaft drive. Dual disc brakes on front, single on rear. Kickstarter AND electric start. I need about a 900+ or I'm just not comfortable on the bike. And I would want to take none of the above on an unimproved jungle trail in the Philippines. But could you imagine how much fun and utility an adventure bike would be? There are 5 HD dealerships in the Philippines. Hogs exist as do superbikes, typically weekend riders tho.
Another great and (importantly) informative guys. It’s good to know exactly what to expect expense wise. Lastly, congratulations, Chrissy is going to build a large bicep lifting that rock on her left hand. (Just kidding) I’m happy to see you both so happy together. The two of you are a great encouragement to “fly me to the Philippines”…

The biggest cost to a foreigner is the price of airfare to the Philippines and back home again if the date expects to much find another pretty Filipino! To have fun with however avoid bar girls other pay a higher cost !
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines just something to think about. By the way I will retire in February. I’ll be looking for my own Philippina. Oops! I mean lady. I enjoy watching you guys.
If you want to have a good time, do things and travel in the Philippines, it's going to cost. Expats on extreme low budgets can not really enjoy themselves with their partner. Staying at home and walking are their only choices.
I would Love to visit the Philippines . Is it possible for you to recommend a Reputable agency that provide accommodations and a personal guide that knows the area and where to go and what to do for at least a month ? If she likes to cook sometimes that would be really nice too ..
WOW..... so thats how the other half lives......!! I mean a Big night for me would be a burger somewhere with a sea view.. An extra special night... I would add fries.
Responsible women who are interested in being able to support themselves and their family - not simply look for an expat to do it all for them - is probably rare over there ? -- Those kind of women are likely to be working in another country perhaps as a nurse or something. ( ? ) Perhaps a Filipina bank executive or MD. in the Philippines are also very rare to come by ? - - - All this means is it would be nice to have some financial help with those extra expenses ? Even if it were ( only ) $400 - $500 / mo. ? > Many expats only get $1200 - $1800 / mo. -- That 'extra' makes a huge difference ! 🤔
Hi love your channel, i am a 100% disabled Vet as well as i get SSDI, i do make like $5300 a month, but i am looking at BGC in Manila right now, do to i maybe able to go to the VA there for my health care and stuff, but i am open to different options if it works out with the VA, what would you recommend for someone like myself ? also i would need to be setting up cell phone and service there and i like to have like the fastest internet i can get as i do online gaming ?
Hi Stan. Complicated question for comment section. Tagatay has good weather and can drive into VA… I offer personal consultations flymetothephilippinesconsultation.as.me/
I don't understand what your point? Did you really have to go thru all that cost detail? I am not an expert on the Philippines. I do know the standard of living is way below the US. My impression is that you can have a lot of fun for not that much money. Thanks for a run down of the places to see!
But what if you are single and want to stay single but want to date around (30 days in a month so 30 dates with 30 different ladies), how much would that be?
Happy Friday, Rob and Chrissy 🙌 have a beautiful weekend ahead. Every time I watch your videos, I get more and more excited about my trip to the Philippines next month 😃🙌 It would be great to connect with you 🌍
It’s not as hard as some might think I’m only paying US$900 per month in rent. The location just happens to be exceptionally nice and I found it by pure luck but there’s lots of properties open in the mountains that can be spectacular.
She has had an instructor at the driving range and the caddies all have to be able to shoot within 10 strokes of par so they give tips out on the range also
Another fantastic video!!! Thanks for the information. I'm a social person like you, Rob. I have always been a member of a country club. I like the social opportunities that clubs offer. My lifestyle is more like your current lifestyle. Let's face it, where you live dictates your lifestyle. I have always had homes in the upper tier of the market. I currently live in a 4000+ sq ft home, one floor, with all the amenities, in a gated golf course community. Your current home is more to my liking. Can homes like yours be found? You told us what you pay for rent, but I didn't take the time to total up everything that you mentioned in the video. What do you think a person would need to fund your new blossoming lifestyle if you owned your own transportation?
1m to 3m buy and own a car , suv runs payments 20k a month insurance run 6k a month then their gas 15k say 41k total add transportation . his budget is 170 k add 41k to his budget. 220k be good. i say 4k in usd a month
You forgot to mention CHEMISTRY. If a woman has this for you then dates at Starbucks and the park are all that is required. Throwing money at a woman is never a good idea. it will always come back to bite you. I will never understand a man who purchases more than one engagement ring in a lifetime. Learn your lesson the first time around. At the end of the day you need to understand that you are in a very poor country which makes you the prize and the woman is lucky to be with you. Sorry but you have spoiled your woman and there is nothing good about this. The Pandora's box has been opened.
@@Eric-qm5xw yes it takes money to enjoy life. The myth about being poor and happy is just that, a myth. In a poor country there is no need to spend a lot of cash especially on a woman. She will become a monster of your own making . Treat her well but keep her humble if you want peace in your household.
Very informative video, thank you. I wanted to ask, from a man's perspective... Are Filipina women becoming materialistic just like Western Women, and especially women in the United States ? Especially fun when you criticize other Vloggers that have a lot of experience that you obviously don't have ...
Glad you were having fun Eric thanks for the feedback
all that outdoor places to visit..attractions...pools....waterfalls etc...sounds like you need a car if you dont think its safe on motorcycles...guess....getting to these places are the biggest problem....sounds like not too many connecting buses...if you havent top dollar....
Yes a car will come in handy
Rob and Chrissy 🙌 have a beautiful weekend , Pay To Play with a Filipina , very true . told my fiancée that's why we start business is hybrid store in her home town has cloths/ sari sari / milk tea shop so it would pay the reg bills and i can used my pension for travel and stuff. 3 more years tell retired work and buy stuff we need for the home and store.
Thanks for the comment hillbilly
Suburbs are full of chickens 😀
What is CDO?

I'm enjoying your videos. My wife and I are curious about tennis. Are there good places for playing tennis? Thanks.
I have seen courts however I am just not familiar now to give a good answer
Pretty normal thinking.IMHO
My minimum Philippines budget is $3,300. I could easily double and occasionally triple it.
That will work
Interesting

Minimum $10,000 to find, date, marry and import a Filipina, and thats if you get lucky and everything goes smoothly.
Sounds within reason. Thanks Electric Head
Thanks for sharing that
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines Just enjoy ..to many haters. Good luck 🤞
Medicare part B, supplemental and prescription health insurance, storage locker.. good point maybe a week

Thats a pretty good life for that kind of a budget. Did you say 140,000 peso. You know if I end up over there I want a HD Pan America
Yes 140ish

Not many people can realistically retire there and live high end like you have 🤷♂️
It’s not as hard as some might think I’m only paying US$900 per month in rent. The location just happens to be exceptionally nice and I found it by pure luck but there’s lots of properties open in the mountains that can be spectacular.
will chrissy have a golf lesson? she really has a frame for a great shot
