What did you say there? The way you write, I think you are overly excited about things you have no clue about and that's dangerous. I could write a long comment here about extended families, but I won't. I'll just say you are bound to be royally disappointed. I suggest you educate yourself about Filipinos and "your" extended family in particular. 99.9% of the time, it is not what it seems.

Too many expats forget about what happens after you leave this life. What about your significant other? I took the better route than most by bringing my wife to the US and she gained her US citizenship. When we retire in 8 years to Manila we will already own a condo and house, paid for by both of us. And when I leave this place, my wife and son will have the option of moving back to the USA if they chose since both are citizens.

Because of the negative stories out there on Raffy Tulfo. In my opinion, 99% of the guys in those stories lost their lands because of their own faults. Most did not even follow common sense! They sent money to Filipinas they barely knew to buy land, had no land lease written up, built mansions in their Filipinas' family's lands, or were old men who chose the wrong type of females to marry. "WE GOT SCAMMED IN THE PHILIPPINES! MOUNTAIN LIFE MORENA KAYE & FAMILY" is an example of a man who didn't follow common sense. Thank God Morena Kaye stood by him. I think there are 3 videos made by her on this issue.

We just had our first and only child together after 14 years of marriage. It was quite a surprise as my Thai wife who is 31 years younger than me had been told by numerous docs she could not conceive. They were wrong! At 65 I’m a father again (I have a 35 year old daughter who is a doctor and two young grandkids) and absolutely loving my new beautiful second daughter! It’s not something I would recommend unless you as an older guy are in good health with plenty of energy and financially secure. Fortunately I’m blessed with great health, good longevity genes and I’m financially very well off as a retired attorney. I’m hoping to see my daughter into adulthood and maybe a few more grandkids! She brings a whole new level of meaning and purpose into my life to be sure.

I'm sure Chrissy and her family are quality people they certainly seem so and it's your life and you should live it as you choose BUT 🍑🍑 this is NOT the advice you and other youtube gurus are giving everyone constantly on youtube. The advice you and others are giving are don't move the family in, keep them at least 2 hrs away, don't buy land you can't own land, take things slow wait 5 years before you make any significant purchases, don't lead with money and don't build the family houses, you can have this life on 2k-2.5k a month etc etc. You should give HONEST advice. The honest advice would be - Filipinas expect the following when getting involved with a western man - they want to be married, they expect you to take responsibility for previous children, they want half children with you, they want land and build them a house, they want you to build their family houses, they never want to worry about bills that's your problem and they want family support. They will not say this out loud but that is what is expected and they are expecting you to read between the lines and I think the good filipinas may be worth it (but how many and how can you tell within 1 year?). A much more realistic budget for this would be 3 to 5 k per month and 60 to100k to buy land and build a house and then whatever you need as an emergency fund. This would be much more honest advice instead of selling the youtube dream and allow men to make a more informed decision and also make them vet much more carefully and get their finances in order before attempting what your selling.

Interesting feedback. Much of what you say is true. We work together- 20 months is like dog years - we know each other much better than a man working outside the house 5 days a week.
I was never asked by anyone- I entered into a trade - got religious hard working family members with integrity to babysit, housekeeping, build, caretake. These services from strangers are inferior and more expensive. Once married beginning to plan for the future makes good sense

Everyman should ask himself this question to protect himself.
Can l afford to walk away from everything l have invested if things go wrong ?

Hello Rob and Chrissy! Given the ground and the climate, if you plant other fruit trees, papayas, mangoes, litchis or equivalent (durian maybe?) how long would it take for the trees to produce your own organic fruits?

Hi guys. Excited to see these changes. Wow, what a 2025 you guys are going to have. A very belated Happy Christmas and best wishes for a wonderful year ahead!
I've been chatting to a beautiful someone who fits much of what I've been looking for, and who works as a teaching assistant at a Christian school in Visayas, so my mind is turning to just considering a life out there. I'm amazed at what you've been able to do and keen to know more about the financing of... well, everything. Lots of Qs, so will drop you a line on email.
But wishing you all the very best!! 😊😊 Happy New Year.

Ohhhhhhhhhh no, the dance was cut short 😂😂 Sounds like the plan for the land will allow ease of travel. There's a lot of value in having trusted family looking over a house out in the country. Moreover, having a skilled family member manage your development and construction process is pure gold. What a kind and generous man you must be to take in that cute little girl. It's none of my business what developing Chrissy's land represents as a percentage of your net worth. But from an income perspective, Rob, you're appear to be going "ALL IN" baby: pucker up for the ride!!! 😆 Hey, I'm a real estate developer with both brokers and general contractors' licenses. Risk is my middle name. Sincerely, I wish the best of outcomes and luck to your both! When I move there in a couple years, I hope to find a fantastic Filipina like Chrissy. And yes, I'm sure she'll get a nice house too. 🤣 Heck, loosing half a little shack in a US divorce is still a bigger loss than getting clipped for 100% of a nice house in The Philippines! Gotta pay to play baby!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite what I was thinking. It’s land but pretty rural. Of course it’s cheap but cheap for a reason. Yes the view could be great. I was thinking of a nice lot but not in the middle of nowhere. Balakbayan is the cheap way to go with no guarantees. A SRRV or 13A gives you the right to live in the Philippines. During lockdown you couldn’t enter the Philippines with a balakbayan. I thought you retired with some money. I guess I was wrong. You seem to be a bright guy. I was thinking you were worth a million or two or three dollars. Of course any land purchase is exciting. Nice what your doing taking in your wife’s stepdaughter. Good luck 🍀

@@FlyMeToThePhilippines you might not need insulation up there on the mountain. the thing i wonder about is how it would compete with hotels in town closer to the action. On the other hand Christine's mother or stepdad might be hosts and provide transportation and translation/escort services. They could be hosts and take rental money and pay y'all $8/day and keep the rest. You'd need to save $3 of the $8 in a maintenance account. Oh, and the guests get a discount if they help wash the pigs.

Responsible husbands, especially much older ones, plan for their wife to have a prosperous future after they are gone. Mylene still wants to own a house in the Philippines even if its only a rental. Here in Buffalo we are enjoying our new grandbaby and seeing more of all three kids and our son-in-law. Bit of a different climate here than in the Philippines, but we'll make the best of it.

I have been boots on the ground here in PH since early Nov and return to LA in Feb for 3-4 months and then back to PH for good. I know this is the right place for me and Rob I'll reach out privately there's lots to update. As for a name for the property I have always loved naming my properties and I think you should incorporate your channel name somehow. Fly me to the farm. Fly me to the view. Fly me to Nirvana. Something in that world. As a girl dad of three daughters, l love incorporating Chrissy's sister (I don't use the term half-sister). You’re a grown man and have your own experience and choices and your own ambitions on what you want to do with your life. It’s nice of you to sponsor and support your wife’s poor family and eventually leave something for your wife that undoubtedly will be more than she would have earned and been able to afford without you. I’ve been going to the Philippines for 10 years now and stayed with my Filipina gf that later became my wife after 4 years of dating and me being in the Philippines traveling to work for call centers contacted by US Health Plans. Personally I have invested in rebuilding my wife’s family home and will probably buy property for her when I retire so we can build something in CDO too. My wife’s family lives in Iligan City and her Papa passed away so it’s just her mom in the house with us now.
