Its easier said than done to not go to a dog park. Walks arent enough and imajine always being in a small outdoor space, inside or on a leash. You just have to be attentive and maybe invest in pet insurance thats maybe more feasible for most people
@@sadiebrown4493 It's easier said than done?? You are the owner in control of where you bring your dog and you have the choice not to go. It's really not that difficult of a concept. Dogs should be allowed to play OFF LEASH in a DOG PARK. Do we keep our THREE YEAR OLD on leashes at a People Park! A THREE YEAR OLD HUMAN WILL ALSO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST A PLAYGROUND BULLY!!! C'MON!!!
This is why i will never trust a dog park. Animals are too unpredictable. One moment everything can be perfectly fine and the next your dog is injured because it got in a scuffle. Not only that but I have chihuahuas and they'd never be safe at a dog park.
Wait until you see the Judge Judy episode where a cat owner was sued for allowing her cat to roam freely without a leash and not under her control. She lost too 🤣
Responsible owners don’t take their dogs to dog parks , they’re breeding grounds for various diseases and infections . Dogs are going to scuffle over toys and are bound to be injured . Exercise your dog responsibly and not at dog parks
At a certain point going off of risk assessment we may as well just lay down and die cause there are too many risks to living. But of course that sounds insane. If those are the rules in Connecticut, I would NEVER take my dog to a communal, off-leash allowed area. Anything can set a dog off. The risk, which is already pretty big, would be too huge. If you want to socialize your dog, do it in a controlled environment with dogs you know and are comfortable with, or just don't have a social dog. Normally, I can't stand Harvey, but I loved his post-case interview with the idiot defendant. "I don't have another choice." "Sure you do. Walk him without going to the dog park." "How will I socialize him?" "Talk to him." The truth is, if your dog can't handle being social--i.e. it could attack another animal or person--then you cannot continue to force it into social situations and just say, "Well how else will I teach him to be social?" Maybe you just have a dog that doesn't want to be social.

You are proud of your dog for biting other dogs because they 'disrespected her? That's ridiculous. Glad you aren't going to the dog park anymore. Keep other dogs away from your dog, or call out their owner for letting them get near you. It's not the other dog's fault. Always the owner's fault.
People who bring their dogs to the dog park are just asking for trouble. Then they act shocked and appalled when their animal gets hurt. There are unleashed dogs at the dog park. You assumed the risk.

I haven't seen the ending yet, so I don't know if the defendant loses or not, but you assume a certain risk when you take your dog to a dog park. Dogs who have been totally docile their whole lives can be set off by something that happens at a dog park where a bunch of different owners and animals are running around. There are different toys being thrown around--we can't control how dogs will react from day to day. If you're going to bring your dog into a park where all the animals are off leash, there's a risk that something bad could happen that neither of the owners could have predicted. The defendant is a jerk for sure. And if his dog were to get into ANOTHER fight, he would be liable for that, because now he's on notice that there are circumstances that might set his dog off. That's what changes it to negligence. If this is the first time the defendant's dog has ever been in a fight, I don't think he would be liable.
