Loving these swim videos. As a lifelong competitive pool swimmer (sprinter), I find them really interesting. Your splits blow my mind😂 1.20 avg per 100m for 29k is insane! And then to sprint the last 1k at 1.05 pace🤯It would be really interesting to see you race or train in a pool environment. You'd probably put us all to shame haha
Awww you're kind Katie, but no, no... I've SO much respect for fellow Lboro/swim partners Peaty, Payne..etc they're RAPID like dolphins... I am but a chubby whale who floats and eats, haha 😂hope your training is going well swim sister
As someone thats just started on my journey, and taking the stoic blueprint mantra into triathlon and hybrid training, you are my spirit animal Mr Ross... You get me excited to get outside and train, and experience what the world and my mind can achieve other than eating cake and sitting at a desk for 10 hrs a day...
Keep the videos and inspiration coming Ross. I went to high school with Ross and i remember one year for Christmas when we were about 13 years old Ross asked his parents for a medicine ball. I remember being unable to comprehend. I think i got a Tamagotchi....
I remember the video of bad assery. Swimming and eating for a record. I never thought about food being very crucial for long distance. I've only seen the two sides of spectrum but it wasn't from training but just individual habitual eating. They either loved food or only ate out of necessity. But this is entertaining and educational. P.s. love the food truck. Prodigy in the background spurred my interest xd
You are LEGEND!! The way you break sport into a science and propose reflections for athletes that are up and coming is super motivational...🙌🙌 Much love from an American in Spain.
Great vids and so imformative, I just completed my first Ironman 70.3 in Stafford and suffered on the run due to not fueling right. Im going back in a year to go for the sub 6hrs which was my aim. Im also over weight and suffered injurys but your vids inspire me to push myself and help with my training thankyou Ross
Another top video. Thank you 👍 Derwent water is One of my favourite places. Ran a marathon round there with Sean conway last year but my preferred day is just plodding round it in a kayak or paddle board. Need to get back soon..for some of that brownie!
This is absolutely golden information! Thank you Ross and James for your insights into training the digestive system and how well your body can absorb calories. I am going to take this (chicken) nugget of knowledge and run!
I love these videos please don’t leave us waiting too long for another one you are a great bloke and have had some great company along the way with the other two dudes.
Only just catching up on these. Been going to Keswick for the last few years to complete the wainwrights. Absolutely love The Round. Here for the sport content but mostly the burger recommendations 🤣
I liked this video after seeing the drone shot of him on the island eating the brownie like it's the totally normal thing to do hahaha, great vid! Inspires me to get fit!
Love the day in a life, perfect thing to watch in between workouts!! Also love the storied learning, like your books just throwing knowledge nuggets in between the brownies, burgers and burritos Much love from Aus 🇦🇺 💪🏔
I am in such awe on what you are doing for all of us. you are teaching us by dumming down so we all understand it. How long have you been training to be where you are today?
now this is an idea i need to adopt, just with 10x less distance. Also, 1:20 aerobic pace.. very speedy. Out of curiosity, what kind of pace were you holding when doing the UK swim?
Loved it, Ross. Looks like an epic 48 hours and looking forward to getting back out in the sea again after covid and training more! Keep doing what you’re doing, dude. Love the content and cheers to the boys as well for running around with you! Giant man legends!!
It’s definitely something people do without fully knowing the why. I’m a firefighter, if I have a tough night shift, I find the only way to keep focused and keep going is to eat and drink at every opportunity. This is even more the case if the 2nd night shift is busy as well. I think the fire service tradition of cooking up big meals on a night shift is also a subconscious adherence to this - if you turn out to a tough job at 03:00am your body needs that huge calorific intake you had earlier in the evening.
Great video Ross! Really interesting take on endurance training! Just never thought about the actual need to think about training intake and tolerance to that prolonged need for calories!
Fabulous what an inspiring. Just completed Celtman extreme triathlon and training my stomach better would definitely have helped my performance. Still a solid 28th place finish but seriously considering the performance enhancing benefits of brownies for next time. Keep it up 👍🏻
Loved those videos 👌 I actually started swimming now the first time in my adult life to come back from covid and thats 100% inspired by you and your books 💪
It´s crazy how you end up swimming my 24h-Swim-goal-speed back in 2020, but I was in a 25m-pool... XD... hope I´m still a freak like you are in 10 years!
Brilliant enjoyed this, great food for thought. Every ultra marathon I've performed well is when I've stuffed my face on practice runs and nailed it on race day...probably some science in there after watching this my gut probably appreciated all the food on practice runs.
Great video. Was asking myself if you have ever used a CGM to find out what carbs work for you? Complanies like supersapiens are doing a really great job on this. Or do you just eat?
Wow thats called brownie infused sports science!!! Please keep continue with the videos as currently more than halfway throug the world’s fittest book and visually connecting the dots making it an excellent read.
Ross, i love brownies. Not sure I love them like you do! Thanks for the great content. Quick question, is your hood integrated into the wetsuit or separate? I ocean swim in Maine in the winter, looking for an alternative to my neoprene cap. Thanks
Didn’t realise you were putting videos back out again. Bu the previous comment leads to a good point. Is it just an old wives tale to wait an hour before swimming after eating or has this been disproven. ?
Running, swimming and even strenght training is easy. But eating enough and training the stomach is the hardest part for me. I still can't even comprehend how you can eat so much and mantain that amount of muscle mass whilst having such a high training volume. Quite frankly it's absurd, it's crazyyyy!
Would love to know how Ross would fair in a Masters swim comp - the guy has endurance but how well can he sprint these days? Cheshire masters coming up…….is he brave enough???
Ross Edgley... Forever breaking the "you should wait an hour after eating before you go swimming" rule
😂 you LEGEND! Aww thanks broski
I can't get over the image of this absolute unit of a man treading water, taking fistfuls of a brownie out of a massive box smiling like a child 😂
😂😂😂 I got some funny looks from the people kayaking that day, haha 😂😂 hope you're well broski
This has to be one of Ross’ highest quality videos. Glad to see him taking content more seriously or at least giving it more quality focus
Awww SERIOUSLY appreciate this... really, really do :-) ❤
Your laugh is infectious! I really really hope you keep up the videos after this mini series ends!!

Keep the Cumbrian content coming Ross! Try fell running Scarfell Pike with James and Jacob as a challenge🐾
you legend! Huge thanks brobarian... and oh no way... they would LAP ME, haha... I'd do it if they took it in turns to give me a piggy back, haha 😂

4kg brownie… RIDICULOUS!!!
Loved the vid.
Need more of The World's Fittest Podcast!!
The man, the myth, the legend at it again. Just casually busting out 30k because why not. I love it!
Never change Ross, much love from Belfast
I reckon you should get stuck into an ironman. Obviously document the whole training process. Absolute beast of a human. 🤙🤙
I get excited for these videos
loving these types of videos!

If you do what you need, you’re surviving. If you do what you want, you’re living....
You can't always do what you want though, that's part of life.
Ross, i love brownies. Not sure I love them like you do! Thanks for the great content. Quick question, is your hood integrated into the wetsuit or separate? I ocean swim in Maine in the winter, looking for an alternative to my neoprene cap. Thanks
The "I do sport just to eat whatever i want" president
Didn’t realise you were putting videos back out again.

How thick is the wetsuit you use for long distance open water swimming? Is there a brand you’d recommend? Thanks :)
Ross your a freak, and I mean that in a good way 💪🤣
Love the videos keep them pumping out. Question tho, my shoulder keeps crunching when I swim.... Any ideas to help this
- th-cam.com/video/IFKK8nlJadg/w-d-xo.html
Man you are an eating machine! If that was 4kg of brownie you must have eaten about +200g/h, mindblowing!! Keep it up Ross!
4KG of brownie whilst swimming?? I would be shitting bricks hahaha
Keep them coming!!
🙂Aww thanks so much!!!!
This video is proof that brownie doesn't go to the stomach, it goes to the heart.
With all that said, You're a legend.
Chris - th-cam.com/video/IFKK8nlJadg/w-d-xo.html
I've trained my stomach to perform on chocolate flapjacks and tangfastics when long cycles and long TABs.
I'm just here to see the chocolate brownie
Hahaha hope it doesn't disappoint 🙂
I wish everyone is the world was like u
i seem to just fall asleep after eating, no idea how he does this :o
There's also the other side of being an endurance athlete and that is to become a fat burning machine meaning reduced need for constant fueling.

Love that you’re faced with the prospect of eating a 4kg brownie, and wondering, “what’s for lunch?” 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 brobarian of the brownie 👍
@@RossEdgley 🔱
What training watch do you use?
If this is what I have to watch to justify eating more sweets while training then keep up the great content!
Hahaha!! Aww you LEGEND! Huge thanks brobarian
I love me some more food content 🤣🤣
Honestly THE best way to spend a day in the lake district, haha 🤣🤣
Time for you to link up with beardmeatsfood!!
Suppose it’s quality over quantity but I just wish you posted so much more😂😂
Would love to know how Ross would fair in a Masters swim comp - the guy has endurance but how well can he sprint these days?
Cheshire masters coming up…….is he brave enough???
Was the cameraman calling it "felt running"?
It’s like Eddie hall when he trained he ate steaks 🥩 etc it’s the same principle for for short term burst it’s carbs for energy
