As I just turned 69 ,I sit here watching you love this, I remember myself sitting on my bed in my room with black light, headphones on and rocking to Zeppelin 🥰🥰🥰. Who would've thought this many years later I'd be watching younger generation enjoying what I did as a teen❤️❤️❤️. Great reaction
must be a theme, gonna be 69 in march!iwas dumbfounded when i first heard this song and album, still am! greatest first album by any band ever,so far ahead of everyone else. nothing touches them even in 2022
I'm 51, but I get what you mean, raised my four children [now all adults] on the music I grew up on, love when I hear them jamming to LZ, Pink Floyd, Stones, etc...makes this mama proud.😁😭
Man, I just love how Robert Plant is able to go from whispering to yelling in a matter of seconds. I love this band so damn much. The energy in this song is insane and you can hear the passion, they had everything to prove in this album. 53 years later and it still sounds amazing!
Haha, yeah, i recall one critic said once something like that Plant's voice could be the sonic equivalent of a feather floating down to a sun-lit meadow, but then turn around and instantly freeze into silence a crowd of 20,000 with a single shout of "HEY!" GOATS, GOATS, GOATS.
I think it's difficult to convey what led zeppelin were trying to achieve. They were an extremely experimental band. Their music doesn't fit into any single rock genre and they are very protective of their music.
They were and still are my favorite rock band. They were very influenced by the gut bucket blues of the delta. Page and Plant were never ashamed to say that they were trying to make the music of their heroes!
And this was from their first album, when they were just starting out on their musical odyssey, nobody knew if there was more to come from them after this album. This song hits different, it's so accomplished in its structure and delivery and is an early masterpiece from a group that would go on to become behemoths in the world of rock. They were a one off and we haven't heard their equal since.
When I brought this home and played it the first time in my bedroom, my Mum who was of the Glenn Miller generation, literally WW2 music, always convinced I just listened to loud incomprehensible music. stood outside my bedroom door and listened to the WHOLE ALBUM; when it was done, she poked her head around the door and said "Who was THAT?"; I said "Led Zeppelin".......she said "They are very very good!"........praise indeed!
Your mom had great taste in music. I was orphaned by my WW2 era parents an resided by my sister. She played such a variety of music. I learned to love it all. Especially Led Zeppelin and 60’s 70’s music. Big hugs to you from Alaska.
@@pattyandersen5516 so good to share, it’s importance cannot be understated, I’m so sorry you were orphaned although with God you’re never really an orphan in the truest sense…..Zeppelin had a sense of nostalgia in their music, as well as allusions to Tolkien and their sounds draw in people from every era, every genre of music; God bless you in every way, I’d love to visit Alaska, from what I see it’s a beautiful place if wilder than most parts of the world!! Hugs back!
That's amazing! My parents are also from that time. I was lucky enough to grow up with awide variety of music and enjoy their music, as well as my fav band, Led Zeppelin. BTW, I love Glenn Miller's music. Moonlight Serenade.
I was 18 years old in 1969 when this came out. This was their first album and it totally blew me away. The whole album is a masterpiece. PS just got to say thanks for all the smiles you've put on my face over the last year or so. Been fun to watch you too experience the music of my youth. Peace
I was 17 and I saw them live in the summer of '69 at an amusement park 'Pirate's World' in Dania, FL. They performed this song and others from this album. I can still remember hearing this song early in the morning in the Senior parking lot, car doors open and radios turned up to 11.
I first heard this song in the late 1960's. It was the first Zeppelin song I ever heard. I was blown away. I did not have the money to buy the album and I did not get my allowance until the end of the month. I had to have that album, so I ended up washing and waxing my dad's car for $2.OO and made up the difference of 60 cents with my own money. Over the next week I wore that album out. Even today I will sit down and listen to that album, beginning to end, and I'am still amazed.
it's not the tempo that changes, this song is at one basic tempo, about 140 beats per minute, almost from start to finish, it's Zeppelin's ability to swing the dynamics from quiet gentle and acoustic to the loudest heaviest rock so easily, that sets LZ apart. It's a feature of most of their best songs.
A lot of people have a natural tendency to count half time when quiet, then straight time at the build. Half time I clocked at 68, 136 straight. Just elaborating on your comment, which I really enjoyed seeing here as a call out

When a older friend of mine took me to see Led Zeppelin in the summer of 1969 ,I had just graduated from high school..At Milwaukee county Stadium, on a summer night for under 10dollars..I was never the same..True story. 🎶😎
I was born in 1975, and Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I was 5 (1980-when John Bonham died and they disbanded). I have their symbols tattooed on my arm. I really love seeing others discover and enjoy them.
Robert has the soul in his voice and the instruments are magic. Close my eyes and I escape! What sad and emotional lyrics. I always cry.... They do it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That whole first album was a shock to the music world and energized the high school and college scenes, setting them up for all that was to come. Great song, that whole side burned into your soul the first time you heard it when it came out. More Zeppelin, please, try the Wanton Song, it is the Hammer of the Gods! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
I refuse to speak about the song itself, but watching her just immerse herself in the music and groove was a treat. Discovering great bands and great songs is a simple and universal pleasure.
Just imagine being 15 years old buying this Led Zeppelin debut record in 1969. It stands up so well over all my life and remains my favorite of their LP's because it is such a great bluesy rock album that just changed the landscape. Wonderful reaction, thank you both!
Believe it or not, this is your SIXTEENTH Zep song, putting them in a tie with Queen for your most-reacted-to band. I nominate "The Ocean" for your next stop on the LZ road.

Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love - Over the Hills and Far Away - Dyer Maker (Island Feel) - Rock n Roll - All of my Love (song after his young son passed away) - Immigrant Song - When the Levee Breaks - The Ocean - Ramble On - Black Dog
This is based on a folk song that Joan Baez covered, so folk is the main input here, and Zeppelin made the song about double in length by adding the hard rock instrumentals. Before the band formed, Jimmy Page used to play this song during his own private time, and it's a song he brought to their first album, along with "Dazed and Confused." Also on this debut album is "Good Times Bad Times."
Yup your right Jordan, she was probably reading your mind on some level. Amber follows the way of the spirit, and following the flow of music is where the spirit hovers.
This whole album is a masterpiece. Maybe the best debut ever. This song is a seamless mashup of blues, rock and roll, and Celtic folk. This combination is what gave their music a greater depth than their blues based rock contemporaries. Robert Plant’s vocal on this gives me goosebumps. This song also showcases Jimmy Pages unique guitar abilities. There are soloists, pickers, and chord players. Page is that unique beast who is highly accomplished at all three. Love this band.
I absolutely love you both! I was a child of the 60's and 70's, and you both would have fit in perfectly in those times! We were all trying to change all the bad things back then. I was a teenager living in England at that time, and all music was universe driven! You make me revisit my youth with your enthusiasm! Thank you so much!
Think about this...a large population of people feeling this music the same way you did whether on the radio, vinyl...it was an era where music shaped a positive perspective on life.
I was 16 when this came out. i would pick up the needle on the record player and put it back to this song. My dad said if he heard it one more time he would smash the record!
Their first album was just one mind-blowing song after another. It was amazing on my first listen, with one great song and then another and another and another...
Between 1967-1977 I don’t think our Generation realized just how good we had it Musically. So now it’s up to Awesome channels like yours to get it all heading back in the Right Direction. So Thank You for doing what you do. Y’all are providing a Great service and doing a Fantastic Job!
Thats my theory too. these reaction channels are great for the younger generation -- allowing them to bypass music the record industry (and peer pressure) tells them to listen to and opens up a whole wide world of alternative sounds
My daughter is 30 and she has loved Zeppelin since she was a little kid thanks to her dad and I! They are one of the if not the greatest band ever!!!!! So many great songs to pick one! They are all equally great!

There will Never be another band like Led Zeppelin. You 2 need to purchase each and every Led Zeppelin album or cd. And just listen to them from number one to CODA. And being high puts you in the best mood for them.
Ok so I've watched this reaction video a good dozen times now. Watching you and amber sway, seeing your facial expressions its obvious you two have reached a point where you get it. What can anyone else say, That's 'Led Zeppelin.
One of their greatest song covers. They totally changed it up completely from the original. The vocals on this song are amazing and the instruments lead you on a trip you'll want to take over and over. The whole album is Outstanding.🎶🎶🎶 Sadly the man is movin on. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Can't call this a cover. It is so musically different than Baez. Musically on a higher plane and arrangement than she could've dreamed, and certainly the simplistic original.
@@redpine8665 What? Joan Baez performed a cover. It was not her song. It was Anne Bredon. It was performed by a few artists before Baez performed it. There were many other covers after Baez before Zeppelin got it. It has multiple different arrangements, just like “When the Levee Breaks.”
The Beatles in the 1960s and Led Zeppelin in the 1970s were both such unbelievable influences on my life. Each band held astonishing genius. Who was better? That can be debated forever and it would be a fun debate!
This was originally a folk song written by Annie Bredon, and covered in the 60's by folk singer Joan Baez... Robert Plant & Jimmy Page were big fans of Joan Baez. In 1968, when Led Zeppelin first got together, they didn't have enough original songs for the first record... so they covered "Babe I'm gonna leave you" w/ re-arrangements - Robert Plant adding some lyrics and Jimmy Page giving the track a heavy riff w/ John Bonham's pounding drums. It became a stellar classic 🤘🤘🔥🔥
One of the pleasures I get from your reactions is the way the music reaches so deep into Amber's soul. Amber, you have a unique ability to feel music as much with your heart as with your ears. I'm sure you were a hippie in a past life. Keep up the good work, guys! Cheers....
The honey and I have a shared phrase-Amber’s gone! You can see the point where she slips the confines of the world, and soars off momentarily to realms unknown.
I grew up in the 80s with parents who listened to The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Michael Jackson, CCR, Led Zepplin, The Stones... I like many other genres but this stuff is my home. Close to my heart. Thanks for the reaction!
You truly owe it yourselves to listen to that album start to finish, re-act or not, it is mindblowing, I was 14/15 at the time, Air Force brat living in Hawaii...and THIS comes along! lol
Not too shabby for a song from a debut album! It was just gonna get better and better. It was truly heartwarming to bump into a millennial at the grocery store with his son in the cart , wearing his Led Zeppelin shirt, and the expression on his face when he saw that I was wearing one, too!
Zeppelin recorded a LOT of songs and albums, but I constantly keep going back to their first as being possibly the most pure as it was untainted by any of the wild success they had later. Blues and Folk was always present in their songs, but it was the foundation of that first album.
Truly one to be thought of as 'their best'! Remember that this was only the second song on their first album...for many people it was their first intro to Zeppelin. My favorite thing is the end, where they proceed to slow it down and 'put the song to bed'. True genius!
That's the stuff...!!! Absolute Masterpiece...! "You're time is gonna come", "What is and what should never be", "Ten years gone"... are Epic as well...!
That really touched me that you enjoyed that so much. I'm tearing up lol. I think I sometimes forget this is one of my favorite Zep songs. But of course, that's because they are my favorite band of all time, and there are just SO many masterpieces. I really enjoyed listening to this with you guys tonight. Thank you. Love you. I'm pretty sure you haven't done my personal favorite Zep song, because I'd remember it. None of my reactors ever do it. "Misty Mountain Hop". You would make my whole day if you ever decide to do that one.

The stole it
@@ericthomas917 Actually, they perfected it. The others are good, this version is by far the best.
@@ericthomas917 NOBODY who recorded that song, including Baez, had a clue who originally did it. It.

You should try Gallows Pole and Battle of Evermore. Different offerings from Zep
my favorite album all time, bar no other.
This is arguably my favorite song of theirs that I've seen them perform live. So much energy and emotion. So good.
agreed
Top trumps. I am 75yrs old! Following Led Zepp since the first album was brought out. Just as incredible as ever!
The Beatles in the 1960s and Led Zeppelin in the 1970s were both such unbelievable influences on my life. Each band held astonishing genius. Who was better? That can be debated forever and it would be a fun debate!
Ur not wrong. That debate is an epic one. BUT... The Beach Boys were just as influential to 60s rock as The Beatles.
Pink Floyd
Perfection.....
There will never be a band like Led Zeppelin again!!
IMO this their First Album still Blows me Away! I think it's their BEST ! ...Newk from Kentucky
We will never see there like again, you young human beings enjoy , fabulous channel guys 👍🇬🇧
It's hard to believe this came out 53 years ago! Masterpiece nails it!
This and Since I’ve Been Loving You plus No Quarter are my 3 favs of theirs
One of the pleasures I get from your reactions is the way the music reaches so deep into Amber's soul. Amber, you have a unique ability to feel music as much with your heart as with your ears. I'm sure you were a hippie in a past life. Keep up the good work, guys! Cheers....
The honey and I have a shared phrase-Amber’s gone! You can see the point where she slips the confines of the world, and soars off momentarily to realms unknown.
It's such a strange, otherworldly feeling to see you guys reacting to music I first heard over 50 years ago. You make it seem fresh!
To me this band has so many good songs - just one after another. You could call so many of them masterpieces 👍
Great White unplugged cover is excellent
I grew up in the 80s with parents who listened to The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Michael Jackson, CCR, Led Zepplin, The Stones... I like many other genres but this stuff is my home. Close to my heart. Thanks for the reaction!
You truly owe it yourselves to listen to that album start to finish, re-act or not, it is mindblowing, I was 14/15 at the time, Air Force brat living in Hawaii...and THIS comes along! lol
Not too shabby for a song from a debut album! It was just gonna get better and better. It was truly heartwarming to bump into a millennial at the grocery store with his son in the cart , wearing his Led Zeppelin shirt, and the expression on his face when he saw that I was wearing one, too!
this song always stirs something deep inside me
Funny thing is, you could ask 100 fans and get 30 different answers of a favorite, that's how good they were!
Loved the way that Amber moved .
Zeppelin recorded a LOT of songs and albums, but I constantly keep going back to their first as being possibly the most pure as it was untainted by any of the wild success they had later. Blues and Folk was always present in their songs, but it was the foundation of that first album.
💯 so🚀
Truly one to be thought of as 'their best'! Remember that this was only the second song on their first album...for many people it was their first intro to Zeppelin. My favorite thing is the end, where they proceed to slow it down and 'put the song to bed'. True genius!
Exactly right this song is a masterpiece, the entire album is one of their best, I just love Led Zeppelin
You would make my whole day if you ever decide to do that one.
that whole debut album.
I have so many Led Zeppelin favorites. They’re just that great! Heartbreaker / Living Loving maid , Black Dog, No Quarter, Communication breakdown, Over the hills & far away. I can go on & on….
I'm 52,. First time I heard this was 96, at 24 yrs old. Was blown away. And couldn't believe I'd never heard it B4.
The greatest rock band of ALL time! Two songs I don’t think you’ve reacted to yet but should are “Bring it on Home” and “Thank You”
