If we’re being honest, Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time. Jimmy Page’s contribution to music goes way beyond his guitar playing which is saying a lot because he is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Page also produced all of the Zeppelin albums and his groundbreaking contributions to music producing can be heard in every modern recording. He is the one responsible for bringing the rhythm section out of the background and into the forefront creating the driving music we’ve been hearing ever since. His songwriting is also legendary. And don’t get me wrong, because Tool is a great band, but Led Zeppelin is in a whole different league. They do not have a bad song so take your pick!
Zeppelin may get copied, but no band is, or ever will be zeppelin again. It's ridiculous to try and put a "cool sub genre" title on them. Every album had 3 or 4 different styles of songs. Pages' biggest contribution to rock, was not caring if it was "hip" at the time to play multiple styles well and still keep it a rock band.

The perfection on the solo (one take) on the album. Goosebumps. This live version is amazing in its own way. Anyone that got to see them live has memories for a lifetime.
There is no one like Led Zeppelin before or since. When Bonzo (the drummer) passed, the band was done because all 4 were each so unbelievably unique and vital to the band, they were irreplaceable. It would be well worth your time to listen to the entire catalog. From blues, Rock, acoustic, funk, metal, reggae, etc- they were immaculate. Great review, sir. Here's a tidbit- they were so great that each live show was one of one, as the songs evolved onstage like no one else, all to keep it interesting for themselves and the audience.
I saw them in Knebworth in '79, when I was 17. Life changing, weren't they? My favourite band for over 50 years. Enjoy, Polo, and yes, just about every single song is a gem!

Led Zeppelin are the best band the world has ever seen. Their recorded albums are to their concerts, what a trailer is to a film. Their concerts went on for days, the songs went off on one, loosely based on what was recorded. Every time they were played live they were a different experience. So much love for them. ❤ and yes, not one bad song. No skipping in their albums!
Every other rock band wants, wanted, tried, died, to be these gentlemen, or heavily influenced. I guess my bias, but widely held, there is the Mighty Zep, then everyone else. ❤
Polo, just so you're prepared, you've got to go 60 songs deep with Led Zeppelin before there is any noticeable drop off in quality. Tool isn't even in the same galaxy as Led Zeppelin, and Tool is pretty good - at times.
You are on crack. Zepplin is amazing and a love of mine long before tool. But its hard to compare the music they make. Pink floyd and tool is a better comparison.
So true. Zeppelin can only be compared to the other great bands of all time like Queen, Stones or Pink Floyd. In my humble opinion Zeppelin is the best of the best. But please don’t compare them to the likes of Tool or even Metallica
I have heard it said that Led Zep were a blues based group that also did rock and roll. Simply the greatest grouping of talent, singer, guitarists and drummer EVER. 50 years on and still rocking.❤❤❤😂😂😂
I love the live version but you should definitely familiarize yourself with the studio version. They are significantly different. The studio version is incredible
Led Zeppelin is simply the best there ever was or will be. Genius from another dimension. And to think this is just *one song* in an entire concert! The term 'Rock God' was invented for them.
Also the original TSRTS version is much better than this one. God knows why (I assume Page) has put this one out instead. I'm talking about the version where the camera lingers on an Indian (?) couple on the audience then the girl just gets a huge grin on her face. Has the edge over this version for sure, Page's playing is cleaner for a start :) That's my humble opinion anyway!
Hello, Polo. I am 65 years old, and to me, Zeppelin will always be the greatest rock band ever. So, I love watching videos of young people be turned on to them for the first time! Another Zep fan created! All is right with the world. I am going to subscribe to your channel, and I hope you keep it up. My generation grew up with the best music ever. There is so much to show you!
The singer Robert Plant sings direct from his emotions. He said that after every live performance he can't remember exactly the way he sang each song because he was singing from his feelings. It also directs all the movements of his body on stage. He is a true blues artist who connects with his core every single time. And it's beautiful. He was a sex god of his time. He's still pretty d*mned hot even now 🔥🔥🔥
I saw the Physical Graffiti tour with my bf. There really is such raw sexual power in them. So much that my bf decided to heighten the experience for me. I shall say no more, but it was... unforgettable.
I’m so happy I grew up in the 70s. The best bands and music. I used to go to concerts that would last hours just because of the jamming on each song. It was an experience. Nothing like it today.
I was blessed to see them live in 1975. It was both wonderful and sad, as I knew I had been to the best concert I would ever see. They were and are still amazing.
Led Zeppelin is the best band there ever was or ever will be. Jimmy Page whenever he composed his songs he did it such a way that when you started listening to an album you could listen to it from beginning to the end and enjoy every song on it. That’s just how great they were
Please, let me laugh hard here... If LZ is the GOAT, where do you put Radiohead or Pink Floyd, where Fleetwood Mac or Yes, Talking Heads, CCR, Eagles, THE BEATLES & THE ROLING STONES? Man, that's the typical yell from a Michael Jackson fan. Open wide your ears and brain, you'll discover new worlds.
Those are all good bands. CCR and Yes, though? Thats pure narcolepsy. Music is so subjective. People can always find something they love or are more partial to. Most critics, other musicians, writers, etc will say Zeppelin is the greatest. Them or the Beatles.
@@ShawnConrad-tw8du and the majority of musical experts (and musicians) never name Led Zep in their top 5... Yes, YES is a great band. It seems you've never paid attention to them. @@cycleoflife565 you better try to learn to argue instead of making things up. I'm not talking about taste but about copy&paste, plagiarism. For your information I still like LZ and TWO, I'm not the only one saying it: there are lots of videos, articles and books talking about how both, Page and Plant, had copied everything they could. ¡Y! You don't know what "my tastes" are so stop talking rubbish. I have musical "tastes", not a single taste. I grew up listening to psychedelic rock, progressive rock, jazz, electronica (all genres), experimental, blues, pop, classical and symphonic, celtic, folk.... When the levee breaks by Zeppelin has got one of the most powerful intros and soulful thumps all the way through the song. One of my all time favorites from this band.
I got to hear when the levee breaks live this summer. It was mine blowing. I never thought I'd get to see Robert Plant in concert in my life, I thought I had missed the boat by being born too late. Top 3 best concert I've seen for sure.
At Robert and Alison Krauss concert last year , The entire band did a fantastic twist of the song , When the Levee Breaks! Robert Plant= GENIUS! It was pure Fire!
The whole band’s history is a phenomenon. Their personal relationships, inside the band, and outside the band is fascinating. Jimmy Page alone is a study. The castles, their travels, the barriers they smashed. It’s worth your time, Polo, to look at these men individually.

Great blues-rock band.
@@MikeVideos327 It's only getting worse for Tool if you bring up Pink Floyd. Again, sorry but not in the same galaxy...
100% agree there is a reason they are still the top Rock band of all time!!
He wasn’t comparing them directly. Just the fact that they don’t have many mediocre songs.
I have heard it said that Led Zep were a blues based group that also did rock and roll. Simply the greatest grouping of talent, singer, guitarists and drummer EVER. 50 years on and still rocking.❤❤❤😂😂😂
This is the greatest band in my opinion.
Absolutely
The studio version of this song is perfection.
I love the live version but you should definitely familiarize yourself with the studio version. They are significantly different. The studio version is incredible
That is why they are one of a kind , they could pull off all genres . Each song sounds different and never dated.
I have watched this multiple times!!! ❤
This entire concert is one of the best, if not the best, live performances in the history of 6 strings
Weird, the audio is similar, but not what’s on TSRTS. Hmm
The greatest show ever performed. Period. 😎
@@franktraina4147 I agree
i was there. 😊
Led Zeppelin is simply the best there ever was or will be. Genius from another dimension. And to think this is just *one song* in an entire concert!
The term 'Rock God' was invented for them.
May I suggest that you listen to the studio version of this one? It's amazing!
This live version is also amazing..... Heard the studio version 100 times, but this is outer space!
I was thinking the same thing.
Love your reaction, always
When the Levee Breaks is another great bluesey Zep classic.
Here we Go guys! This is a masterpiece!
The studio version is amazing. Give it a listen.
It is MUCH better. 100%
I agree. I absolutely LOVE this song but it also is a heart breaker 😢
the BBC live version blows any other out of the water... seriously
I agree. I requested this review via Buy Me a Coffee and asked him to listen to the studio version. C’est la vie. Hopefully he listens to it one day.
i saw them live in berlin 1976 it was really awsome....i love them till now
Hello, Polo.
My favorite Zep song. Gives me goosebumps...goes into my bloodstream
I AM IN LOVE, OVER, OVER AND OVER! I have done lost my mind, love this track! Led Zeppelin one of the greatest bands ever, in my opinion.💙 WOW‼️💯
One of THE BEST live performances of ANYONE, anywhere. Iconic. 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎤🎤🎵❤️🎶🔥🔥🔥 Rock Gods. I grew up with all this music. Fucking 🔥🔥 and no auto tune.
My undisputed favorite song of all time! So damn powerful and beautiful in every way!
Mine too
The singer Robert Plant sings direct from his emotions. He said that after every live performance he can't remember exactly the way he sang each song because he was singing from his feelings. It also directs all the movements of his body on stage. He is a true blues artist who connects with his core every single time. And it's beautiful. He was a sex god of his time. He's still pretty d*mned hot even now 🔥🔥🔥
YESSS Annie, to everything you just said.... This is the most amazing arrangement of my favorite Led Zeppelin song but I love them all.....
Their songs are more complex, more rich in sounds and styles and they were really good musicians. Led Zep have a legend made of idolatry flying over their heads > just listen to this song LIVE; the structure of the song can shit over not only to Led Zep.
PS: I'm not a big fan of Yes in case you or others gonna argue that.

@@oskarobitIt’s a waste of time to disparage someone because their tastes don’t align with yours.
Don't waste your time with me and listen to more music. Or learning to argue with good and real arguments.
🤣🤣🤣 Laughing to myself at how much you are loving this one....I felt the same, the first time I heard this song....and, yes: they are one of "those bands".... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
All I can say is that I saw them twice , and on this Tour. Life changing ❤
When the levee breaks by Zeppelin has got one of the most powerful intros and soulful thumps all the way through the song. One of my all time favorites from this band.
Good one 😊
I got to hear when the levee breaks live this summer. It was mine blowing. I never thought I'd get to see Robert Plant in concert in my life, I thought I had missed the boat by being born too late. Top 3 best concert I've seen for sure.
At Robert and Alison Krauss concert last year , The entire band did a fantastic twist of the song , When the Levee Breaks! Robert Plant= GENIUS! It was pure Fire!
@@malva-yk2jgSo did I ! Phenomenal Concert! Amazing!
Levee breaks is also my 3rd fav
Can’t wait for this one! Prepare to have your mind blown POLO 🔥🎸🎼🤯
IMO the greatest rock band of all time. Every album is fantastic.
❤❤
Not the greatest rock band, the greatest band ! !
This is my favorite song from Zep.
It feels great to see younger generations and new fans like you , enjoying the great talent they brought
John Bonham was one of the most legendary drummers, and he passed away too early for the rest of us!
The whole band’s history is a phenomenon. Their personal relationships, inside the band, and outside the band is fascinating. Jimmy Page alone is a study. The castles, their travels, the barriers they smashed. It’s worth your time, Polo, to look at these men individually.
