Good video and thanks for posting. Camera operator could use a little practice to keep the vid in focus, but thank you for sharing.

Way off. The reason these things hydrolock is lack of use, ethanol in the fuel & gunk in the carbs. The vacuum line coming from the petcock & the petcock itself contribute to the problem. That needle / float mod is not going to prevent this problem. I use fuel stabilizer & don't let them sit.

No sir, not on this bike....you would need to look up my post on the Valkyrie forums to understand the background of this bike. I understand and agree with your observations as they can compound and cause similar issue such as the one I had. But in this case the bike was daily driving, carbs were clean, blah blah blah....no oem petcock because the bike is turbocharged, there is a manual on/off shut off valve. The spring within the float needle valves over time deteriorates causing the float to contact the carb body before the fuel is completely shut off by the needle and seat. and the condition was exaggerated by the pressurized fuel system that was required for being turbocharged. This theory is easily tested by comparing float height with old needle valves versus new needle valves with the carbs upside down. This bike is now fuel injected, but during the time of the video it was still carb'd....Thanks for comment.

    Why not just replace
    all 6 floats?

replacing the 6 needle valves is the most effective and time efficient resolution

best to replace the float needle valves as normal preventative maintenance
