this deserves way more recognition
Thank you, that means a lot :)
Hi, long time no see!
This is truly a wonderful memory that will last a lifetime!
You both did a really great job, thanks a lot for sharing!
Take care! Happy travels! 👍🥰🙏
I’m not just saying this - but this is one of the greatest human adventures of the modern era.
I am so impressed that you fixed Vinny yourselves! It just shows you that persistence pays off! Can't wait for the next part of the adventure!
What a brilliant video. I have been watching your channel for approx 3 years now and this has to be one of your best if not the best video.
Editing and music choice was brilliant but the best thing was the journey you have both been on. The ups and the downs. I was so happy for you both when it showed 23% 🙂, amazing that you were able to fix the problem yourselves.
Hoping so much that your journey onwards to Argentina is more straightforward and that Vinny doesn't encounter any more problems. Safe travels 👍🙂
Thank you 🥺🥰
Oh EM GEE... I am so glad you guys are all right and figured it out !
You are a true representation of what "resilience" and "never give up" and mostly "on n'est jamais aussi bien servis que par soi-même" means 🤩
Wonderful recap of the year so far, with all its highs and downs, but mostly: how much you have learned!
You learned to fish (in rivers, at sea, crabs, ...) , you learned to prep your catches, you learned to cook on rocks and fire, you learned to give yourselves grace, you learned google maps was sometimes wrong, you learned to trust and see the bright sunny side, you learned about your fears, you obviosuly leanred to edit always better and better, and now on top of it : you learned how to fix your own van better than any mechanics!
Thank you Annebel 🥰🥰
What a fantastic summary!
Love the " We will do it our damn selves" attitude! Glad your back on your adventure.
So glad you got Vinny sorted, well done! Glad you are both well and back posting
Us too!
This was a masterclass in storytelling, a masterclass in overcoming adversity, a masterclass in how to have an adventure! What memories you’ve made already. Love you both and we’re so excited to see what the rest of this journey looks like for you. You are rockstars ❤
Wow Naick is amazing! So many would’ve given up. So many in our society just do the bare minimum. But man one slid through and went above and beyond. Fixing the sensor issue definitely serves your self interest but you can tell naick applies this work ethic in all his tasks. I don’t get amazed by others much but man naick you’re amazing!
I (Kim) showed your comment to Naick and he was really touched. I absolutely agree with you, he is amazing :)
@@NaickKim you’re amazing too Kim! Together, you complement each other so well. Your relationship on TH-cam is like a masterclass of how a healthy couple should interact with one another…supportive, reassuring, team work, goofing off, etc
I watch your videos for this dynamic as much as for the travel aspect.
Cheers and I look forward to many more videos!
thank you so much 🥰 that's very sweet 🥰@@Verity888
We are of the same mould guys. We have a Plan A, and Plan B is make Plan A work. So glad you made it to here and fixed Vinny yourselves. Well done Legends.
Hahaha exactly. There's always a way, just need some time and money. ❤❤
@@NaickKim exactly 💯 👏 🙌
Well that was one HELL of a happy ending!!! WOW!!! When you set out on this journey, who could have imagined the ups and downs but it's all been worth it. Cheers to the rest of your journey!
So glad to see you back! So amazing to see everything you did this year. Safe travels and looking forward to seeing the continuation.
Wow! What a great job you too! I am so happy that you fixed the van yourselves, and not just something simple, but involving the computer and reprogramming. I shed a tear watching this triumph over your constant Van struggles. There is nothing like repairing your own things and succeeding at it. You guys deserve that Win! Congrats 🎉
Great job!!! Naick the mechanic. Enjoy your travels again and I look forward to enjoying them with you. Great job on the recap by the way!
Well done on all your hard work!! You’re such inspirations!! Looking forward to the rest of your incredible journey 🎉
🥰🥰
I was missing you guys so much. It's great to have you back and I'm looking forward very much to more travels.
Im so happy to see you again.... so happy it worked out for u... cant wait to see whats next
You guys had to become ford experts 😂❤ so happy that you solved your problem.
Yeah we can start a Ford repair business on the road, helping other Ford owners out as we go 🤣 thank you ❤️🥰
It’s such a wonderful adventure when you summarise it like this. Wow!
80 year old Naick and Kim are going to love looking back on all this 🥺🥰
So glad to see you back. I was getting worried about you guys.
Sorry to worry you. We just got very busy with fixing our own van 😉 we're back now! :)
So glad to see you back after so many ups and downs! Wish you a smooth journey!
It's so good to finally hear from you. I was so very worried. Looks like you have made it to Paradise! Way to go!❤
Such a beautiful video summary of your trip so far. You guys are just awesome! So cool Naick, that you were able to find and fix your problem with Viny! Now nothing can‘t stop you! Ushuaia is waiting for you!🎉🎉🎉
YESSS!!! :)
Wow that was beautiful! I was a little worried about you guys because I didn't know what happened but I'm glad you two are ok and continuing on.
Well, that felt like forever waiting for that video but it was a masterpiece, thank you. You guys are more valuable than Stella Artois and chocolate.
This made me tear up a little. I'm so glad you guys and Vinny are okay and can continue on your journey. Your tenasity is incredibly inspiring!
SO happy to see this ending, and to see you guys excited again. Stay safe. Missed YOU. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
A rollercoaster video this one! Amazing
I was just watching "Hakuna Matata around the world - Caro & Santi" (in Spanish with English subtitles) and they had quite the experience getting their van across that Darien Gap by ship from Colombia to Panama. They are headed north however you would have the same going south and then returning north. Really nice couple and a good couple of video's of them delivering their van to the ship and then picking it up in Panama.
One of my favorite videos so far. ❤❤❤
Wow, excellent video of an amazing adventure and experience.
LOVE the videos!!!
🥰🥰🥰
Wow! Great job! Really amazing you managed to learn enough about Vinny that you could fix it yourselves! I hope you get to enjoy a long break from car troubles and just have fun exploring Central and South America (but otherwise, you will for sure be able to overcome any possible issues by now, you are well trained ;-)).
Wow you guys been MIA! But what an adventure!!! I'm so happy you guys made it!!! Keep the videos coming : ) and Safe travels!!!
I feel like I’ve been on this journey with you!! I’ve watched since you arrived in Canada & I’ve loved every minute. Safe travels😂
Oh that's great Donna! You're with us in the third seat up front when we drive ;)
I'm late tuning in--was away for awhile having an adventure of my own. As I look back with you over the last year, no matter how overwhelming the frustrations felt at the time, I see the overwhelming joy from the wonderful nature you've experienced, the kindness of friends and strangers, and the awesome job that you did in learning about your situation and solving Vinny's problem. That trumps the frustrations in my book any day (acknowledging it's no fun going through the frustrations at the time ;) ) . Best wishes for your continued travels. I'm back in the land of all of Vinny's cousins and will continue to send prayers and good wishes every time I see a Transit. Looking forward to your next edition! Seize the day!
🥰🥰 thank you Laura!! Hope you had a good trip!
It was wunderbar! And I’ve already seen a Transit today-you know what that means! 😊
What a recap!
Glad you liked it Anthony!
We zijn zo blij dat het probleem eindelijk opgelost is . Goed gedaan zeg 👍🏻. We wensen jullie nu vooral een zorgeloze en goede reis verder. Geniet er nog van en houdt het veilig.😘
Mercikes 🥰
Now with Vinny fixed lets get to the adventures🎉🎉🎉
Amazing, we’re planning the same for 2025 ❤️
Wonderful! 🥰 enjoy the planning!
The fact that the mechanics didn't even want to hear how you fixed it says it all. Good for you, sticking with it until you fixed it yourself! 👏 I can't tell you how many times I've used TH-cam videos to learn how to do things; I use it daily in my job, mostly to figure out IT things. Bon voyage! 🎊
TH-cam to the rescue for everything, right 😉
glad u are in belize! enjoy! :)
First I am happy you both are doing well, I have missed you! I am amazed at your determination to fix Viny and surprised the dealership did not want to know what you did. Thing happen in 3's so there are 2 unlucky people that will end up not getting their van fixed. Can't wait to se the rest of your trip to Ushuaia. Love you both!
More videos pleasee 🎉🎉 such an inspirational couple you are ❤
Congratulations on fixing Vinny yourself! I hope this gives you more confidence that you can (and will) overcome any challenge that life throws at you. Buen viaje! 👍
For sure it did! It was very empowering 💪🏻💪🏻
So glad to see you back on my feed! And holy cow I’m sorry you’ve been stranded this whole time.
On the plus side, you two are probably world-leading experts for your van’s exhaust now so you should think about a second channel 😁
Well done !!!
Cheers Mark!
so cool. im planning to ebike it in 2 years. nice video
Oh wow, what a cool adventure. Are you going all the way up to Alaska?
@@NaickKimi'm up here in alaska now just waiting to start the adventure down haha
I had a feeling we hadn't heard from you because Vinny was causing problems again. So impressed by Naick's understanding of technical terms and how things work. Also impressed by the editing of the video, which I assume is Kim's expertise.
Thank you so much 😊 yes, Kim is the editor. She spent a lot of this breakdown editing this video. Learned a lot from it because she looked back at all our videos from the last year
I can't help but think that winning those $10k was a sign that you guys were meant to keep going ❤
Hi fantastic video ❤
Your jounery is amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
We love sharing it with you 🥰
You are so much lovely couple keep enjoy your life love from india
Love you guys for not giving up, you are so inspiring! Keep going and come all the way down to Chile and Argentina, 80 year old Kim and Naick are already so proud of you!
Thank you 🥺🥰🥰🥰🙏🏻
Woww how i missed you guys.
Naick and Kim are officially Vini's mechanics. Congratulations.
The TOE! 🤣
I swear I can still feel it hitting my teeth 😜🥴
That's amazing. I will be watching more of your videos. Great job! 2 years ago, my wife and I started our journey to travel the world. We relocated from Canada to Ecuador. We are currently in the process of building our vehicle for the journey as we are still in the emigration process. We are limited in our travels as we must remain in Ecuador for 2 years before we can leave the country for any significant amount of time. So far, we have managed to travel 40,000km inside of Ecuador. (Amazing sceneries and people here) The truck is now finally ready for this adventure, but we most still remain in the country till next year, and then the fun begins. Any advice on things we must see along are travels? We will start in South America and finish in Alaska.
Fantastic in so many w
Glad you are back in the road, that's some horrid delays with vehicle issues.
I'm slightly scared for you in South America, with the high sulphur fuel that is supposed to give all those sorts of problems you already have had in low sulphur countries. At least you are experienced in how it works now, was the dongle/software on the laptop yours? So you can help yourselves in Ecuador/Peru - if in doubt dash to Chile for lower sulphur fuel.
Naick has done a lot of research into the high sulphur fuel thing in Central and South America. Some countries we'll have to avoid, others we can get through if we load up on low sulphur and take jerry cans before crossing the border. It's a bit of a headache but it's also part of the adventure! :) Bolivia is supposed to be the absolute worst with the fuel so we might skip that altogether.
bravo!
Hey you started in my home town of Halifax!
Glad you are okay, wondering what happened to you both. I think Ford owes you some kind of compensation!
We were so nervous about how much Ford would charge us because the van had been there for 4 weeks but they couldn't fix it. It was only 200 USD, which we can live with. But you're right, they should be paying US 🤣
I'm glad that you both can persevere until today. I can't help but feel all the hardships you have gone through along the way.
Keep going! Go to Argentina, Go to the Antarctic continent!
by Ming Liang.
Great review, glad your back!
Glad to have you two back! What an amazing adventure you've both had. Ever thought about an Australian road trip??
It's on the list 😉😉🥰
One day in near future I'll be doing same adventure ❤
Welcome back! It's good to see you two back on the road.
Thank you ❤️🥰
I'm so glad you are back on the road, wow ! what an adventure. Definitely missed your videos, looking forward to many more!
Oh l have missed you guys. I kept looking and nothing, yet you are still here, still going. Solving problems and still smiling. Congratulations. Keep on going and more more more videos please. Safe travels.
I've been so worried about you 2! Welcome back - I've missed you so much!
HEY just started your video! Excited!!!!
yay, you're back 😍
C’est une belle aventure 🥰 avec des hauts et des bas mais les mauvais moments nous rendent encore plus sensibles aux bons moments, ils sont précieux 🙏🏻🥰 you two are amazing, much love 💕
Welcome back guys!! You were missed!❤
What an emotional re-cap of your travel year so far! I am so glad that you guys didn’t give up even when it seemed things weren’t going your way!
Perseverance, YES!!
Glad you made it to Belize and wishing for a smooth journey going forward! 🙏🏽
Thank you so much 🥺🥰
So inspiring! What a great story & and adventure❤!
👏👏👏so happy for you!!
What a journey so far! So, glad that you're back! I've missed you! Come on Vinny, no more issues for a while.
Happy that you were able to fix the problem and make it down to Belize! Maybe you figured out by now that this issue with your exhaust system may rear its ugly head again and again since you are using the diesel fuel down there that has higher sulfur content that your van's engine isn't designed for. These modern diesels require ultra low sulfur diesel and it will be harder and harder to find as you continue south.
We avoid the diesel that has significantly higher sulphur than what our van needs. It's why we have a jerry can 👍🏻
@@NaickKim Thats good to do for sure. However, it will become impossible to do at some point on your way south if not already the case. There are a lot of gas stations that claim to have ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) but in reality do not. Someone on one of the facebook groups we follow posted about taking diesel samples from a dozen of these Mexican gas stations and had them tested. All of them turned out not to be real ULSD. I can only assume this issue gets worse the farther I drive south,
We upgraded to a 180L fuel tank instead of carry extra jerry cans. That still won't be enough to avoid using high sulfur diesel. That is assuming whatever ULSD we are able to find is really ULSD...
@@NaickKim I assume this video is from a little while ago and you probably haven't had any issue since. When you replaced the exhaust system I assume they installed a new DPF in your exhaust pipe which should keep the problems away for awhile. I just wanted you to be aware that as you go further south, this fuel will continue to be an issue. Good luck!
Yeah we know. Belize doesn't have low sulphur. Neither does Nicaragua. Bolivia is horrible. But we are buying extra jerry cans and not staying in those countries too long (might just deep into Bolivia for a week or skip it). It's a puzzle isn't it 😜
@@NaickKim The real problem is when a country says they do have it, it isn't always true. So you could be filling up dirty diesel and thinking it is not. If you move quickly you might be ok. We move very slowly and tend to do a lot of circles 😆 Hope it all works out for you guys!
Hey guys - lovely video - wow you should be so proud on what you have achieved over the past year and it's not over yet. Miss that beach in Baja. - woo hooo - be safe and keep eating the Guacamole
Peel the banana... 🤣🎶🎵
Hey guys🎉 happy to see you both
And we're back in the game! I'm so happy for you guys!
Thank you 🥰🥰 yes we are very happy too!!
I am super glad you guys are doing fine (not because Mexico is not safe, but because of Vinny). That being said, and I am mentioning this because I like your channel and I think you have great potential, I don't understand your approach and inconsistency in posting regularly videos on TH-cam and (at least) short updates on Instagram in between YT videos or when posting on YT is not possible. It is also a matter of respect for the followers refreshing your page for weeks to see if there is something new, but beyond that consistency and pairing YT with a bit of Instagram or other social media channel can make huge differences and you would need to relay less on your freelance work and travel more, do more and better content. if you don't want to make a living out of your channel, I guess it is ok, but if you do, you should really reconsider the approach. I watch different travel youtubers and I think your channel is not nearly where it could be with a bit more regularity and engagement.
We are aware! Especially agree with what you are saying that we should update sooner when we are not posting for a bit. The reason for posting less on TH-cam this year is because Vinny's issues have cost us many thousands of dollars in repairs this year alone. Growing on YT takes some time before more money comes in, whereas we need that money now so we kind of have to do more freelance (which pays out pretty much the same week we do the work). It is NOT that we do not care about our followers or about the channel ❤️ we're working on it!
Incredible!💕💕💕I’ve been wondering where you have been!🙏🙏
Perseverance is an acquired talent valuable and worthy to keep. Well done guys. Loved seeing you back on the road. Hope you can visit El Salvador again.
So glad you guys are back! Not sure I understand what's happened, but we missed watching your adventures. Hope all is well!
no workshop was able to identify and correct the problem, on top of that they don t want to know how you fixed it! they'd better close the business and find something else to get busy with...I mean it's their job, they are not a pastry shop
We think this particular Ford dealer might actually be a coverup for a pastry shop 🤣🤣
Good evening guys . Thanks for sharing . ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching 😉
Wondering that you guys might have problems with a Van. I am so glad that you guys are back on the road a little closer to Argentina!
可以去開修車行了
Glad to see ya made it to your next country.
Yessss 🥰
Have you given up on your journey and videos.
❤🌹🚌🫶💃
:)
欢迎下次再来中国,去看看其他城市 南京 厦门 大连🎉❤
I'd sell Vinnie and fly home. I think Alaska and the fishing trip with those nice people who pulled you out of the sand were the best. Serendipity. I thought you'd been kidnapped by a drug cartel you'd not been on youtube for so long. Explore Shetland and Scotland. I loved Islay. You could take Vinnie on the ferry from Aberdeen. I lived mm101 on Alaskan hwy. My Dad worked for Forestry. There is something wonderful about that area but we had a bear at Disney World yesterday. I live in Floriduh now with gators and bears. We are taking over all of their habitats, sad really.
BTW, these mechanics are not computer-savvy like Nick. He should be writing Ford and selling them his knowledge. I was very impressed.
We're confident that we'll get him down to Argentina. But Naick is saying Florida sounds nice because fishing there is good ;)
That toe! Hahahahahaha 🤮
😂😂😂
