I remember a friend and I were in Oregon and heading towards Reno. We got within 30 miles of Reno when a wildfire shut down Hwy 395. No biggie, we will make a detour to I80, or so we thought. The fire spread and shut down all routes to interstate 80. We initially tried to brave the off road path, but it was talcum powder, and neither my sportbike, nor his cruiser were gonna make it that way. We ended up having to turn around and go BACK up 395, cross into Nevada in the northern border, then drop back down on a 400 mile detour. Buddy dumped the bike on a blind corner in the middle of the night (he and the bike were both ok), not a single car the whole way, but we finally pulled into Reno in the early morning after about 17hrs of riding. While I wasnt happy at the time, it made some of my best motorcycling memories, and I wouldnt change it for the world.

Thank you for coming to India and showcasing one of the most incredible roads in the world, not to mention the highest. The documentary was brilliantly made, and both riders showcased impressive skills. This is one of the best Moto documentaries I've seen in a while. Congratulations to everyone involved in its creation. I hope you all had a fantastic day in India.
Shame Ari wasn’t here but Spurgeon was a nice surprise! Common Tread is the only motorcycle content that my wife will watch with me. Would love to see Spurge, Zack, and Ari on the next trip.
I’ve watched this twice now, once solo and a second time with my father who got teary eyed at the end. Phenomenal content what an adventure! Inspiring for all riders, thank you for this gem.
Spurg's speech as they approached Umling La brought a tear to my eye! We'd made it there on our bikes last July as well and I know exactly how he felt - that feeling of disbelief and exhilaration that you actually find yourself in this incredible place in the world. You guys made those deep sand hairpins look easy too. Amazing work and an absolutely satisfying watch. Experiencing it from your eyes brought back all the feelings and more!
As a middle aged woman who just took up motorcycles again a few years ago after a 30 year break, you guys are so much fun and inspiring. Doubt I’ll make it to India but you give me the guts to take on those more challenging rides in my area (on a Triumph, of course!).
@@grandenauto3214 I have. I watched her come up thru South and Central America on her way to Alaska. All respect to her. She’s brave and talented. But when she entered areas that I know well and skipped beautiful places in order to put on more miles due to her self-imposed deadline, I couldn’t watch any more. Like Yellowstone. I think she drove thru a corner and saw Old Faithful. There is so much more to Yellowstone that she skipped to make time. My heart couldn’t take it. So I’m taking a break from Itchy Boots.
@@julieb5434 true…. She missed a ton of good stuff in the Canadian Rockies… her kind of two track stuff…. But she needs to do what she needs to do and as the OP said for inspiration and for being a woman Noraly rocks it…
This trip, with all the money and expertise that went into it, makes me appreciate, even more, what Noraly Schoenmaker (aka, Itchy Boots) accomplishes, traveling alone with no "sag wagon" and film crew to assist. I like the looks and sound of these new, single-cylinder Triumph 400s.
On top of that she seems to have a decent grasp of several languages, she never insults her lodgings, and she takes time to talk to people. She's a one-off.
She is a trendsetter but not the first female to ride the Himalayan's. Bless her for bringing further attention to the dual sport adventure of motorcycling. Huge following.
Never warmed up to her. It's just a matter of personal taste. I prefer more motorcycle centric content. I feel she rides well just as any other normal rider. Nothing special. She is fearless, does not complain and very adventurous.
Makes me more appreciative of revzilla for the fact that people will find a way to criticize (albeit in a way of comparison) no matter what an awesome job you do. Try making a professional video yourself I say
This is single handedly One of the best if not THE BEST MOTO JOURNAL ever made. As a car buff growing up with Top Gear, Grand tour, this is Breathtaking❤ hats off to everyone involved❤
They experienced something that only 0.1% Indian Bikers have experienced, unlucky being coming to Mandi/Manali right after the roads were damaged due to Floods and Landslides but damn these guys have the balls of steel to not give up. Earned so much respect, like me being Indian and used to my comfort zone I myself could not have done this much.
@@PrashantEM7 That is absolutely true. Riding for 25hrs straight is extraordinary. And that too the way they held their composure even after riding through Delhi. Hats off to them 💯
The road to Leh Ladakh. I've been there in 2016 on a Royal Enfield Classic 500. This is one of the most amazing experiences. In the meanwhile I became a father two times and hopefully one day I'll do this trip again with my sons. Amazing footage guys. Enjoyed the heck out of this 42 minutes
Been there too with Royal Enfield Himalayan a couple of years ago. Amazing road with unbelievable views. Seeing this top notch video reminded me of cursing myself right after the trip for just filming it with an old gopro on my helmet and not doing it better while I was there... Those views would have been worth it. Not to mention the altitude sickness and all the other stuff that happened on that trip that would have made some interesting content :D Khardung La was the highest pass I did at 5359m elevation. (Got the videos on my channel if you're interested to revisit those views.)
I’ve said it before - content like this makes me proud to be a Revzilla customer. The fact is they’re a great retailer already, plus offer terrific product and Shop Manual videos, but then they produce amazing CTXP videos like this when they don’t have to…I love it! Well done to the entire team. These journeys are inspiring. Thank you!
They also don’t push their own website really at all. Lots of other places would turn this into a commercial of sorts. Fortnite is the same way, possibly better, you’d almost never know they were a retailer.
You can see the utter exhaustion in Zach's face around 14:50. This is what I've always loved about long trips deep into unknown territory: the circumstances will test not only your physical conditioning, but also your mental and emotional resilience. I'll be adding the Himalayas to my motorcycling bucket list. Wow.
This is Indias Holy Grail of Biking, every bike enthusiast does it once in life. After watching you and Itchy boots recently on the same routes, I can say that bikes do make a difference, yes the Triumphs can go there, but this would be much more fun on an Adv bike. Norlay did made it look easy but the reality is its not that easy for obvious reasons, the altitude, challenging road conditions and the breathlessness, nonetheless it's all worth it in the end as its one of the most beautiful places to take your bike to and ride, hope you guys had fun. India can be challenging, it's intense. Often its also very rewarding. Well done, hope you guys return for more.
Guys, there's so much to unpack here. Video production, direction, editing, writing, all brilliant! I've been to India 5 times and have always wanted to do something like this on my trips. The problem was that they were business trips and my employer wouldn't just let me wander off on a bike for a couple of weeks. The baby Bonnevilles looks like they were more than up to the task and that's great news. As the owner of a T120, I've been eyeing these since their launch. Too bad Ari didn't make the trip, but Spurg is great and Zach never disappoints. What a couple of lucky dogs, trip of a lifetime! Awesome, just awesome!
Great episode! Must have missed Noraly by a few days or weeks, since she's currently releasing her own northern-India series! Also makes what she does on her own even more respectable.
@@Peodso basically all of us. I drive regularly 1000km for fun but thats a two day thing for her. If you have a normal job there is no way to keep up with that.
This is simply unprecedented 😮. You guys are in a different world. Ladakh, India is known for spiritual healing/uplifting of motorcyclists 😊. Proud of you my boys!
Great film, I have the greatest respect and admiration for the solo motorcyclists who do rides like this with no support vehicles or back up crews. They are the ultimate adventurers.
One time I rode my bike 27 hours straight from Northern BC to Washington. I know that feeling of borderline hallucinating on a motorcycle. Makes me strangely nostalgic as I was 18 and riding alone. This episode hit me in the feels! No desire to do it again though :D
Great upload! Noraly must be the toughest motorbike rider in the world. She does it unsupported through a lot of the same routes you guys were on and she makes it sound like a nice weekend ride as seen on her current season on the new Himalayan :)
To be fair Noraly has been doing this type of thing for many years and schedule seems more flexible. While she doesn't have another rider with other most of the time she certainly has many many people help her out jams.
What an incredible trip in India! Great camera work and editing. Beautiful drone shots. Crazy weather. For sure inspiring!! Thanks CTXP, RevZilla and Triumph for a wonderful adventure! Cheers!
Triumph owes you both a bike each for all the sales that this documentary would generate in India. You both and the team have done a fabulous job. Kudos!
Top marks for everyone involved. Great idea. Wonderful execution. Brilliant cinematography. Everything was beautiful in 4K. That image at 40:50 should hang in Zack and Spurg's homes for years to come.
It's fascinating that this video released just around the same time as Royal Enfield announced their new himalayan. Never really thought about those Brands as competitors but I guess Triumph doesn't feel that way.
Triumph and Royal Enfield competing for this market. RE got itchy boots to do a ride on their new model and she posted a bunch of videos through India and Nepal . Glad to see motorcycling taking this direction in the South Asia
This bike trip to Leh Ladakh in the Himalayas has been the dream of almost every Indian rider.....and of course this dream just got bigger with the rise of social media platforms in the country, with almost every influencer/vlogger making a trip to Ladakh Nice to see this wonderful route now being explored by many foreigners as well.
@@chrisd4813 I mean, I guess I understand their similarities aesthetically, but like the Bonneville is like double the price of the interceptor. I guess I just assumed that the people who have five grand to spend on a motorcycle, and the people have 10 are just completely different markets.

"Distance doesn't tell the whole story, but riders do" ☺ I really enjoy your content also I'm preparing for my very first touring with a friend and I hope we'll make it in time to the destination😅
Indian here. When you guys were talking about covering 300 miles in 3 hours..I was like what the hell are you talking about? Covering 300 miles during the monsoon through Indian Urban and Mountainous roads? These guys are in for a shocker. I remember in my Kathmandu solo trip, I underestimated the last leg of 60kms on himalayan road in nighttime during monsoon, and it took me 4 hours of grueling to cover that distance, whereas I had covered previous 440 kms in 10 hours including frequent breaks and stops.
Firstly (as no crashes were discussed), I am glad the riders and the crew were safe. Secondly, amazing job from the entire team on this project! I genuinely had goosebumps multiple times with the way the scenery was shot, and the accompanying music and commentary. Thanks for visiting India! And hope you would like to return and make a longer trip around the Himalayas someday :)
Spurgs speech towards the end mad me quite emotional ,All the struggle they had been through just to give us this surreal experience is really inspiring,Opened this for the review but watched it for the amazing documentary it is…Thank you to both of you for this ❤❤❤
I just wanna say Ewan and Charlie with the long way adventures changed the world and are legands. Zach and Ari are on that same level. The work they have done over their career have cemented them as legands with people like Ted Simon, Ewan, Charlie and Itchy Boots.
Ewan and Charlie are chumps compared to Austin and Gerald Vince and nobody ever mentions them for being the godfathers of adventure motorcycling that they truly are.

Absolutely brilliant. Amazing country. Made my day watching this on a cold (zero centigrade) day in northen England. I bet Ari was kicking himself missing out on this adventure. And those two Triumphs have proven that a fully loaded GS Adventure is really not necessary for a true adventure. Many thhanks.
Brilliant! Reminded me of my touring days! Can’t wait for my Speed 400 to arrive. Ordered it when they were first announced. A sensible bike for a change!
It's lovely to see you guys in India enjoying the roads every rider deserves or atleast must ride once in their lifetime to appreciate the infrastructure they have wherever they are. And I say this while I just rode to work here in Atlanta, Georgia 😅. Enjoy and lovely seeing you guys in my home country ❤

After stumbling on this video around July this year, I can't stop watching motorcycle content since. Bought all my gear in August and finally pulled the trigger on a Scrambler 400x last weekend.

Try Sterling Noren's Motorcycle Travel Channel.
Have u ever thought that maybe Ur wife watches CT only cause of Ari ?
@@billumand I wouldn’t discount it
I’ve watched this twice now, once solo and a second time with my father who got teary eyed at the end. Phenomenal content what an adventure! Inspiring for all riders, thank you for this gem.
37:55 onwards is the most purest sense of emotion I have experienced while a watching automobile video.
Thought it was only me... the close was quite realistically emotional.
I have seen your Ladakh bike ride vlog
As a middle aged woman who just took up motorcycles again a few years ago after a 30 year break, you guys are so much fun and inspiring. Doubt I’ll make it to India but you give me the guts to take on those more challenging rides in my area (on a Triumph, of course!).
never say never
Have you watched Noraly? Itchy Boots?
@@grandenauto3214 I have. I watched her come up thru South and Central America on her way to Alaska. All respect to her. She’s brave and talented. But when she entered areas that I know well and skipped beautiful places in order to put on more miles due to her self-imposed deadline, I couldn’t watch any more. Like Yellowstone. I think she drove thru a corner and saw Old Faithful. There is so much more to Yellowstone that she skipped to make time. My heart couldn’t take it. So I’m taking a break from Itchy Boots.
@@john_barnett So true!
Try making a professional video yourself I say
this is by far my all-time favorite youtube series ever. please never stop
This is single handedly One of the best if not THE BEST MOTO JOURNAL ever made. As a car buff growing up with Top Gear, Grand tour, this is Breathtaking❤ hats off to everyone involved❤
Welcome to India ❤ I remember one episode where you guys were discussing with Sagar how its like to ride in India. Hope you liked it ☺️
They experienced something that only 0.1% Indian Bikers have experienced, unlucky being coming to Mandi/Manali right after the roads were damaged due to Floods and Landslides but damn these guys have the balls of steel to not give up. Earned so much respect, like me being Indian and used to my comfort zone I myself could not have done this much.
@@PrashantEM7 That is absolutely true. Riding for 25hrs straight is extraordinary. And that too the way they held their composure even after riding through Delhi. Hats off to them 💯
Yup.... I remember that video....
Felt Altitude Sickness ? Shortness of Breath ?
I am Indian By the way
@@ANABOLIC_1105 no. Only a little bit at the pass, but we didn’t wait too long before descending
Not to mention the altitude sickness and all the other stuff that happened on that trip that would have made some interesting content :D
Khardung La was the highest pass I did at 5359m elevation. (Got the videos on my channel if you're interested to revisit those views.)
Welcome again ❤
I’ve said it before - content like this makes me proud to be a Revzilla customer. The fact is they’re a great retailer already, plus offer terrific product and Shop Manual videos, but then they produce amazing CTXP videos like this when they don’t have to…I love it! Well done to the entire team. These journeys are inspiring. Thank you!
They also don’t push their own website really at all. Lots of other places would turn this into a commercial of sorts. Fortnite is the same way, possibly better, you’d almost never know they were a retailer.
What an absolute adrenaline rush it was to watch this! Spencer and Andrew you guys did a great job at covering this. Loved it!
Noraly is the true international rider… Zach and Spurg show the American version for American audiences
@@grandenauto3214yep 😁! Noraly have driven 1,50,000 km in every types and conditions of roads across world
Guys, there's so much to unpack here.
Exactly… a girl on her own, with limited biking experience, she’s awesome.
Judging by the weather and the amount of water at the river crossing they are in Ladakh around 6 to 7 weeks ago before the itchy boots journey.
@@grandenauto3214 I mean at this point she's way more experienced and has covered more miles than a lot of us
@@Peodso I was comparing her to the Revzilla guys who actually bike for a living.
Was thinking the exact same thing 😂
The same Bro 😉🤟
To be fair Noraly has been doing this type of thing for many years and schedule seems more flexible. While she doesn't have another rider with other most of the time she certainly has many many people help her out jams.
This time she has support of RE for her rides in India!

Quite sure this doc was for US audience. Far too many indian bike youtubers will be taking this to ladakh.
This bike trip to Leh Ladakh in the Himalayas has been the dream of almost every Indian rider.....and of course this dream just got bigger with the rise of social media platforms in the country, with almost every influencer/vlogger making a trip to Ladakh
Nice to see this wonderful route now being explored by many foreigners as well.
When I was buying my bonneville, I did test ride the alternatives and was considering them - including the interceptor 650 and the guzzi v7.
@@chrisd4813 I mean, I guess I understand their similarities aesthetically, but like the Bonneville is like double the price of the interceptor. I guess I just assumed that the people who have five grand to spend on a motorcycle, and the people have 10 are just completely different markets.
Incredible story and production. The effort, talent and quality that Revzilla invests in these films is truly impressive and quite the commitment to the community.
Stunningly beautiful videography!!

Thank you so much for this amazing content
The production quality has gotten so good with these. Thanks guys.
There is a saying, "There are many mountains and then there is the Himalayas". Great work and I hope India treated you well.
