  • Today we will be installing an 80 gallon air compressor in the shop. This represents a large upgrade, as well as increase in capability for the garage.

    Yours is the only video that shows how to set up the hoses / air lines. Thank you. I have a much much smaller air compressor but had no idea how to set those up.

      It would be awesome if I could get them to sponsor me. Like just send me a 30rack a week and I'll shout out in every video. If any one from busch beer is watching you know where to find me.

    I just bought a brand new return from tractor supply. The original buyer said it was cycling too often which might be a pressure switch. They originally wanted $1000 and I got them down to $750. That’ll leave me some wiggle room for repairs/upgrades ✌️

    What-no box connector/clamp for the heavy duty wire, going into the switch?!? C’mon man! Other than that, awesome setup!

    Thank you for sharing, I admit I'm a little OCD, when I'm finished for the day, the reminder air supply i use to dust out my garage, especially in the corners where insects like to hide. Take care.

    Get you an electric auto drain. Runs off a timer and ensures you never let that tank fill up!

      Thank you for the feedback. That's not a bad idea. I'll have to keep that one in the back of my mind for a future update.

    The wire gauge and breakers are exactly the reason for so much failure on these motors. The crank up amps are the kick start of this motor, smaller wire other than 8 gauge will brown out on startup. This motor needs all available amps to start it, running amps are one thing, have enough amps on start up is another. If you have any thing less than 8 gauge wire from the breaker box, your headed for motor failure.

    Very helpful video. Thank you. I know nothing about air compressors. And I just bought the same one you did. Would you be able to share all the size fittings and pipe you used? Also, I have to run three things on this air compressor a powder, coat gun that needs 30 psi, a press break that needs 150 psi and a CNC plasma table that needs 80 psi. Do I need three different regulators for each of those

      You can set it up either way. Regulators have a knob to adjust the psi and you turn the psi up and down as needed. if it was me id run a small regulator at each piece this way you can have a constant air source for the wildly varying psi you need. The press break should be good straight off the tank my unregulated psi is somewhere between 150-165psi. As for piping I used a combination of 1/2in, 3/8in, and 1/4in pipe fittings. the tank air supply is 1/2in necked down to 3/8in for the dryer necked down to 1/4in for the regulator. All the air drain piping is 1/4in pipe. If I spent more time and money on it I could've made it neater, but I was trying to use up some random pipe pieces I had laying around the shop. Thank you for the comment, and I hope you've enjoyed the channel so far.

    It would have been nice to know what size pipe and fittings you used.

      Thank you for your feedback. 1/2in pipe coming out of the compressor, 1/4in for the drain. All my fittings are a combination of 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4in pipe. Unfortunately I put all this together with fittings I had laying around, it could be done a lot cleaner if someone bought exactly what they needed for the install. Basic processes in this video still apply.

    what size wire did you run to that plug?

    Nice setup where did u get the rigid pressure regulator looks like one of a small air compressor

      @fritzes_rebel_garage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's exactly where that came from. I made a video a while back about making an air pig from an old compressor and that's where I got the regulators from. Thanks for the comment.

    For the love of the tool gods please don’t use pliers on everything! Get some wrenches that fit the fittings.

      That's my tv. I keep something playing on the TV constantly, either NASCAR or fishing related to drown out the quiet in the shop. I thought I had it low enough the camera wouldn't pick it up.
