I would explain the price as the customer is paying for your knowledge to do the job not your time to do the job. Your expert knowledge is the factor that determines how long the job takes. Knowledge is priceless
As a marketing person, if I may add...Identify and focus on the core benefits as perceived by the customer. Ask yourself, what is your customer really looking for by coming to you? If you just think that all they want a clean car, think again.
@@JackRR15 The key is looking at it from their point of view. Get to understand each customer's individual wants and needs. That's really what any business needs to do. Let's begin: You're providing the customer with convenience, you're saving them time (time is money), providing piece of mind, you're stroking their ego, preventing them from potential injury, you're making them look good to others, brightening their day, reducing stress and worry, maintaining their reputation, and I'm sure I've missed a bunch more.
Also a marketing guy who runs a detail shop! People often don't know what to expect from a detail because they probably have never had one before. If they have, ask them what they liked about their last detail guy and what they didn't. By doing this you will instantly create a good first impression. It's easy to get caught in the weeds with lingo and stuff that doesn't matter to the client. That's why it's important to get straight to the pain points and take the time to educate on what they actually care about. It will save you time and money and deliver a more satisfying result because you aren't wasting time on what the client won't even notice.

If guys can't get around the hourly mindset, a simple trick is to attribute a higher hourly rate to your time. E.g. A good hourly rate employee might be on $40 but running your own business, you count in travel time, accounts/admin time, costs for gas/power/water/equipment/computers/disposables/taxes/down-time/phone/internet/office expenses/vehicle-expenses, etc...factoring it all in you're probably about double...and maybe then some...plus extra work could be considered Overtime (x1.5) ...just an example of how to think

Hi, I'm not a detailer im just starting to get into detailing and maintaing my cars paint and I've ordered some Meguiars Ceramic Paste Wax 2.0. My question is how do I wash my car after this is applied without removing the wax itself? I usually use the Auto Glym Polar Blast, Wash and Sealant, is this still necessary? Thanks all
Andrew Monument Hi Andrew, I’m a detailer myself so I’ll try and answer your question for you here. Eventually wax will degrade over time, how long you get out of a wax depends on road conditions (how much grime is getting onto the surface and if there’s salt on your roads etc). Even ceramic coats slowly degrade over a year or a few years depending on the coating that has been applied. That being said, I would say keep using your snow foam before hand. Polar blast is a ph neutral foam so is safe for waxes and coatings. The point of the foam pre wash is to safely drag and lift loose contaminants from the surface before contact washing. If you didn’t do this, you would be essentially pushing minute grit like particles over your paint thus causing scratches and swirls and essentially sanding off your wax protection little bit by little bit. Meguiars also do a ceramic spray wax. This would be a great way to quickly top up your existing wax protection between washes so you can get the best longevity out of your new wax! Enjoy using it! Hope this helped you out a bit!
Hey Andrew, first of all, great pick with the wax, it's totally underrated. To your question, I would keep it really simple. Most car washes don't actually strip off the wax that sits on the paint. For example, meguiars gold class car soap that you can pick up at walmart is a great standard car soap that does not strip anything off. Again, most don't and will actually tell you that they don't
I agree with you payment process with the mobile tech...so if your detail is 150 dollars obviously you have to charge tax so is that 150 with the tax included or does the app add the tax to the 150 so then it's would be 170 let's say?
What would be the best approach To starting a detailing car business should I work for a corporate detailing business to learn the ins and outs and get some experience or Should I do?
You are so smart! Do you have employees? Btw, I know you've probably heard this a million times by now, but you look and sound so much like Corey Feldman!

Detailing is one thing, detailing in the summer in the south... 😬
It’s tough as hell
Yikes!
I agree with you payment process with the mobile tech...so if your detail is 150 dollars obviously you have to charge tax so is that 150 with the tax included or does the app add the tax to the 150 so then it's would be 170 let's say?
Nice video bro.
What would be the best approach To starting a detailing car business should I work for a corporate detailing business to learn the ins and outs and get some experience or Should I do?
Great job, can i ask; 1- was this a mobile job? 2- what kind of vehicle are you driving to do mobile jobs?
You are so smart! Do you have employees? Btw, I know you've probably heard this a million times by now, but you look and sound so much like Corey Feldman!
Great job bro
Those look like Honda Odyssey chairs behind you
What drill speed do you set your drill to ?
Yea most people just quick vacuum. I move all seat full forward and back and flip them if possible. Get every single spot.
What spray did you use before claying the windows??
What size brushes do you use? Work stuff brand?
Might have to deal with the cash thing for a while though. Not going to be able to set myself up super established like for a while.
Yep I’m the beginning stages I say go as simple as possiblr
Heyy I like your jacket
What do you use as your clay bar lubricant
So you charge 75 to shampoo and put the gtec fabric guard?
Hey what’s up man?! Hey so I know time isn’t really a factor for the value of work but I was just curious how long it took you to do this car?
Why do you use water After such a small Spot washing?

Thanks man!
Best way to compete with other companies that are mobile when I’m not mobile yet?

I have a harbor freight steamer , but man I wish I had a vx 5000
Thinking about getting a 1385 soon
Yep the vx 5000 is fantastic. I called the owner of the company just the other day and he is actually fixing the machine 3 years later for free. Incredible.
Wow you cannot put a price on that time of customer service , really getting your bang for your buck there , I’ll level up soon , although the harbor freight steamer doesn’t compare it gets the job done for now ! , thanks for the content and for replying best of wishes !
About how many cars do the supplies last
With the Technicians wax. What is the dilution rate if any? Thanks.
You can use it full strength or cut it 1:1 i would say just test it and see how each works for you
Ill tell you this much, you do get paid pretty well for your services....I'll attempt to charge my loyal clients $75 to vacuum they're car! I bet I won't loose that many clients!
lol... the simplicity is Cash..no fear of fraud/CC number being messed with etc. people can still figure out how/when to pay with cash.
Why does there appear to be a haze in that paint? Noticed it after you were done, at the end.
Might be the light or the camera angle. Sometimes it’s difficult to replicate real life looks in a camera lens
