That might be a pain with the amount of force you need to put on it to steer. However you could easily attach a linear actuator to the tiller and steer it effortlessly from anywhere on the boat. Build it so it's easy to detach for manual operation if you want.

The trick to light steering is to have the rudder pivot close to the centre of the rudder.
I guess time will tell & there's an easy solution if it's a bit awkward.
