    In college, I told my high-school crush, very seriously and openly, that I really cared about her and that I have for a long time and I finally needed to just come out and tell her. She was so careful with how she responded, she took it seriously and we had a real conversation about it, and I will forever be grateful for that. No, the feelings weren't mutual and nothing happened, but we had been friends for a long time and still are.

      Bruh the romantic "I HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU" BS kills attraction. If you wanted to get with her you should've kept the conservation light and funny. A lot of guys don't know this, but females will straight bait you into complimenting them. If you fall victim to their trap and give them what they want, "of course honey, you're so beautiful", it kills any attraction they have for you. Honestly when females bait me with that BS I straight roast the hell out of them in a comedic way, that's the shit that gets them horny. lol

    Here in Japan, that's basically how a shit ton of couples meet because work-life is essentially everything. Once people start working, they rarely have lives outside of that. It's changing
    bit by bit, but it's still the norm. And they keep that shit on lockdown until they decide to get married. Then they tell the office...but there is a chance the office already knows but they keep quiet.

    The reason why we (men) are turned off by the "that's cute" comment, is because girls use it quite often to (or against) men they've put into the friend zone. It's a way of dismissing another person's feelings, without rejecting them. Which is what the friendzone is - they dismiss your feelings, but do not reject you because you're useful (either financially, physically or emotionally).
    So that's it Aba; we're familiar with that line from being in the friendzone or seeing other guys in the friendzone. So when another girl says it, even if she genuinely means it, we're turned off by it because of its connotations.

    • @thomasbrooksjr380
      @thomasbrooksjr380 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So i think you're taking the rejection too personal.. dismissive means more like she gives you a nasty attitude.. seems like you need to heal.. being friends or friendzoned doesn't mean they are "just using you"

    • @VenVile
      @VenVile ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@thomasbrooksjr380 Your reading comprehension is lacking. I never said all girls who put men into the friend zone are using them. That's not what I said. What I said or implied was, that there are girls who keep people in the friend zone, because they're useful. This doesn't apply to girls who don't do that, obviously. And the girls who use "aww that's cute" dismissively, do so usually because it's a nice way of dismissing or diminishing one's feelings, while not rejecting the person, outright. And for the girls who use people in the friendzone, it is important not to reject them, because they are useful.
      Is that better?

    I heard there was an article called "hospitality workers need to stop ****ing each other". It's so true, I've been in the industry for 6 yrs and I've been in a relationship with my husband throughout it all, we weren't even married till a few months ago. I'm so glad I never got into co-workers; I stand HARD on the "dont go with coworkers" rule even if I were single. I never got into anyone period cause my man is really all I want but Restaurants are like the military. There is a high chance your spouse will flirt with someone else or cheat on you if there are deep issues with the relationship. You can't trust deez ppl. I've seen men and women flirting like crazy or straight up cheating on their partners all the time just cause it's sooo easy in this industry to get laid.

    Back when I was 25, I was on a graduate program in a big corporation and a hot girl who worked in accounting on the same floor took a liking to me. One evening in a work function we got drunk and ended up kissing, but no more. I was naturally very stressed about the situation the next day as I had this 'don't sh!t where you eat, don't dip your wink in the company in' mindset instilled into me. I ended up calling a friend who was a bit older and a bit wiser, but still young at heart for advice. He told me: "In today's society you aren't likely to stay at the same company for longer than 2-3 years. I had chances to do this when I was single at work and never took them, and now I regret it, so don't end up like me" So I went for it. We ended up seeing each other for about 4 months, then we broke up, but cause she was quite serious about her career, her behavior at work was totally rational after the break up. I moved on to another job 8 months later, but the fond memories of that hot half Arab/half Irish accountant are still with me to this day! So the moral of the story - don't listen to people who give you one advice fit all for situation like this, make your own judgement and things just may turn out ok!

    I'll tell straight up what it is with librarians.
    It's not the books, it's not the long skirt. It's the demeanor that most librarians encompass, and the Glasses!!! Stay with me...
    They are smart women but work in an environment that requires order and silence. And your personality has to be similar, soft, organized, and quiet. The image of taking a woman like that, and making say the most nasty shit ever out her mouth, to do the most nasty shit ever with her body, and then to know she has to hide it to keep appearences for that job, HUGE turn on.
    Also, with the glasses. It's a classic Adrien fetish. The Adrien factor, from Rocky. That you see a very sweet girl wearing glasses, not much to look at on first notice, but then you get close to her, take off the glasses, and you see how hot she really is? Well shit, it does it for me. It's the same with school teachers.

    If nothing else, it kept my name out of office gossip and I was never in the know of who was dating who. I would clock in, do my job and clock out. The last thing I wanted to do was get involved with someone, somehow it didn't work and then I'd dread going to work more than I already did because I knew I'd see this person around the office.

I like to keep friendships, but I've had women think I've never cared in the first place and try to convince the people I've been with that it is somehow true. It sucks when people try to say that especially if I don't have any anger or resentment for the person I've been with. It's understandable that people drop those feelings to protect themselves. It's certainly better than holding a grudge like how a lot of people do it nowadays just before they become toxic around others.

    Dating a coworker highly depends on the maturity of the people involved. I met my bf at work. We were coworkers for 3 years, went out on 1 movie date and on the 2nd date we moved in together. I eventually left that job 3 years later and I got him hired at my current job a year later. We share a 2 inch cubicle wall and we’ve been together 8 years and have worked together 7 out of those 8. We love working together and we know how to compartmentalize our work life and home life. We don’t drive to work together except on Fridays because we go to his parents for dinner, we don’t go to lunch at the same time and we complain and talk about work when we get home just like everyone else since during the day I do that with my work “bestie”. Lol. People know we’re a couple, but we don’t refer to each other as such when speaking about our relationship at work. Even when new employees come on board and ask me about his “status” I always say he’s in a relationship or dating someone. I never say he’s my boyfriend. Sometimes I’ll hear one of them trying to flirt with him from my cubicle and I just laugh.

I always used to talk shit to my brother about how impulsive he is moving in within 3 months of dating someone and here I go and do it on the second date! We were coworkers and friends for 3 years before that so we felt we knew each other pretty well. We always went to lunch together on paydays and his brother also worked with us and I was also friends with other people that knew him that also worked with us so I felt a lot of people could vouch for him, if that makes sense. Here’s how crazy this story gets, though. Lol. He was actually dating someone during those 3 years (and that relationship was even more crazy than ours and I would love to expand on it because to this day I can’t believe he went out with this girl as long as he did lmao) and he broke up with her the week before he asked me out, which I didn’t even know was a date. I literally asked him when he dropped me off “wait, this was a date?!” We went out on a Saturday. That following Monday he asked me if I wanted to come over and he’ll cook me dinner, it was a goddamn chicken sandwich made of leftovers, and I never left. He’s also my first boyfriend and my first anything and everything and hopefully my last. Lol. He checks off all the boxes except the height. We’re both 5’8”, but he claims to be 5’8.5” just to say he’s taller than me. 🙄 He’s absolutely not. We’re the same height and if anything, I’m slightly taller than he is, by a hair.

Not sure if that would have been the same if I took her up on that scenario to get it pushing.
    These days, she's about 8 months pregnant with the dude I always see walking her dogs. Happy for her and even happier I didn't commit to the thirst.

      Maybe he just selected the wrong coworker for the wrong reasons and ultimately faced the consequences later on in life. I find divorced people often give younger people advice based off of the bitterness that remains from the divorce and when er take that advice we get the wrong idea about life. Coworker or not if they’re a good person and you like them don’t hesitate. If they’re not interested, take the L. But I'm not about any toys for myself, that doesn't interest me at all but in relationships since I have introduced bringing power tools for the ladies into the mix lol. The scenarios in which most people encounter the phrase 'aww that's cute' is when a lady is petting a tiny animal or playing with a child. To me there's just an association with the word 'cute' as a patronising/demeaning term from the male perspective. Most men don't want to be cute lol. Words have power. I reckon it might be better to say: 'wow, thank you for being open and vulnerable with me, I appreciate that', that also sounds more genuine than a canned line.

      A comment I read. "The reason why we (men) are turned off by the "that's cute" comment, is because girls use it quite often to (or against) men they've put into the friend zone. It's a way of dismissing another person's feelings, without rejecting them." Just reject us, lol.
