I made chicken and noodles last night . I made homemade noodles . No cream of chicken . Favorite meal of my husband’s. We had to put his dog down last night so like a good Oklahoma wife I made his favorite food . He is so sad . Breaks my heart .
We're sending our 14-year-old boy over the bridge soon too😢, not looking forward to it, but it's what's best for our furbaby! They are family,,,, sending sincere condolences & prayers out to you! Comfort food is definitely in order!!!
I love to make this. But I don't add any thickener. Just make a big pan of hot buttery cornbread to crumble in the bowl....then pour the chicken & "noodles" over it. Mmm...mmm....good! My dad was a baptist minister for over 55 years. We made a lot of friends and met a lot of good cooks too at the churches he pastored. It's like a trip down memory lane for me to sit and look through some of the recipes we've saved up over the years from our church family members. Dad used to always say....."in order to be a member of the baptist church.....ya gotta be a good cook". 😋
I have a couple tips for you, 1. When pouring chicken broth out of a Tetra Pak, position the spout towards the top and as you pour oxygen will go into the box and pour easier. The position of the spout is opposite of what you would think 2. When you have a cream soup in a recipe, put the cream soup in your vessel first and gradually add the liquid as you whisk. This will result in a creamy texture without having to chase the chunks. I love your recipes and can’t wait for each video. Thank you and Melissa for your kindness.
Recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed it since. I'm a former Navy cook and a retired chef w/ 35 years in the galley. I've prepped and cooked everything for everyone; from high ranking officers to celebrities, to sports stars and the homeless... and even British royalty. But this is the food I most enjoy cooking. Home-cooked meals, country recipes, comfort food. My family was originally from the Northeastern Ohio area and the Pennsylvania Dutch region, so good ol' home cooking is in my blood. Thanks for rekindling fond memories of Mom's and Dad's cooking from when I was a kid. Keep up the wonderful videos.
Appreciate how you always arrange the ingredients on the countertop, and explain in such detail how to prepare every dish. Makes your recipes so easy to follow. Keep up the good work.
They look Devine. My 58 yr old son is going to love this… thank you. It’s so easy for my 83yr old Mom. Keep these easy recipes coming. I don’t think you’ve mad a recipe that didn’t really like.😊 ThNk you so much.
I don’t mean to be nosy but you’re the one who for some reason gave the age of your mother and your son…..how is it there is only 25 year’s difference between a grandparent and child? Scratching my head.
I'm telling you. , I don't think saying thank you for this recipe is no where near enough. I just want to give you both a great big hug.!!!!! I love old fashioned southern country food. And this recipe really is. , just that. God bless you. , and thank you so much for all these wonderful recipes. Nancy from Athens Georgia. 💙💚💛🧡❤
I really appreciate recipes where I don’t have to drain the noodles, cause I m crippled, so when I need noodles cooked, any kind of pasta, I have my neighbor or my daughter drain them for me, I always do the whole bag, divide it up into two portions and freeze it , it quart bags. Some times I get four bags, etc.
It's great to plan ahead like you do. That's very smart. We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do. We think it's very tasty! Thank you so much for watching our channel. We love having you at the table with us.
You can also put your chicken in a quart size ziploc back, zip it up and massage the chicken from the outside of the back. It shredded inside the bag. If you don't use all the chicken then just keep the extra in the bag. Fridge or freezer. No need to dirty a mixer. 😊
My favorite meal! My mom would make it from scratch, including the noodles! Delicious! We always ate ours juicy (soupy) and spooned over mashed potatoes
We caught your video at 9 seconds. My husband said we have to watch it now..lol We love your videos. You have really inspired, my already a good cook, husband to cook a little more. He, well we really enjoy watching all your videos. Thank you. For being you.
Made this today. Very very delicious. I need to start cutting these recipes in half. I live alone and this is really a lot of food. So I shared some with my neighbor lady. Love your videos
Oh that's so nice that you shared with a neighbor. I bet she was so grateful! But you can definitely cut most of our recipes in half if that yields a better quantity for you.
Thank you for always including the recipe. It's great that it's very concise and easy to understand (especially after watching the video) and always one page. I'm making a recipe box for my granddaughter and I will be including this one.
Hi, I love your recipes. Good normal food that doesn't take forever to make. Melissa I like that you put the recipes in a column for us to write down. Thank you. Also, I get a kick out of your husband getting every little drop of the ingredient of whatever he is making. I am certainly going to try this chicken and noodle recipe .
We've never been people who wasted anything and it's even more important in today's world we think. Thank you so much for the nice words about our channel. We appreciate that you are at the table with us
Tom- I’m a TERRIBLE COOK. Always have been and I didn’t enjoy trying. Lately, I have been watching your videos and feel like I really understand how you teach! I made the chicken and noodles, and my family loved it!
This is our favorite comfort food! We make our own noodles, so no need to add thickener! Also , I boil my chicken with chicken stick, just adds more flavor!
Hello, my name is Renee Primus. I live in Philadelphia and I stumbled across your recipe on a banana pudding. I loved it. I always loved it as a kid and as a young adult, I had a friend who made it for me from time to time and because of my love for, when I came across your recipe, I just had to try it and it was a hit every since then I have tried lots of your recipes and I’m becoming a regular chef boy, RD I am really learning how to cook things that I never would have thought I could make I appreciate your channel very very much so thank you and I was just watching your 200 subscriber celebration. You deserve it. God bless and keep cooking.
I made this. I couldn't find the wide egg noodles at my store so I used Reames Homestyle Egg Noodles (frozen food section). So good! Noodles have the taste and texture of dumplings.
Had to giggle when I saw the Essenhaus noodles. I grew eating there. My brother and sister-in-law both used to work there. They Doha e some delicious food there

This looks absolutely delicious and I bet it tastes amazing! I Love comfort food! Thanks to the both of you for all you do bringing us these great recipes ❤
I just made this and it's soooo good!! Lots of my liquid disappeared, so I might add to it. This is a recipe I will save and use a lot!! My husband will be having bypass surgery in 2 weeks. He loves Chicken and Noodles. So when his appetite is down, I'll use this to entice him! Thank you to Sharon Conley, Melissa, and you!! Joyce in Palm Coast FL.
❤You’re a genius with the mixer to shed the chicken! This looks so delicious! I shall be making this too! Thank you guy’s! You’re the best!! ❤God bless you both! ❤
Hi Lovely People, Tom you are a great cook...so was my Dad (Miss him very much). I will be definitely making this for hubby and I this weekend. Just wanted to offer a couple notes on adding goodness and taste. You kept using the word "boil" when you cooked your chicken, you should not cook your chicken at a boil, it will toughen the meat, let it cook at a light simmer till done. Also I like to simmer my chicken in chicken broth or bullion with water and add diced celery and diced onions. I know you were making this a marvelous quick and easy meal and my additions add more work and time, but honestly, I have to add onion and celery to anything chicken cooked or cold. Your broth would be enhanced so much. Adding peas and carrots was a great idea, add a bag of frozen mix veggies and it will make a great chowder with that delicious gravy/sauce. So very very extra yummy... Love and hugs to both, Cookee
Would that have stick of butter and that quarter cup of flour, you have all the fixings for a beurre manie or “kneaded butter.” Use your fingers to blend the chilled butter into the flower until all the flour is coated with the butter. Drop it bit by bit into the broth (as you stir)and you’ll have the smoothest, silkiest sauce, soup, or glaze that you can imagine. It’s always equal parts butter and flour!!! And southerners know what time dinner is! Anytime after 8 PM is supper!
I’ve always made this with potatoes, nice switch up to noodles, and shred the chicken. I also add a pinch of Curry, don’t know why, but it just smells sooo good!
Effortless and Easy! I subbed out the chicken breast for my Costco rotisserie chicken. That's what I had on hand. I did use my Amish type noodles. It was delicious!!!
I just came across your Channel, and I already LOVE your program. I am a 92 year young Gr.Nana. I still like to cook. What a blessing to know your dad was or is a Pastor.I want to try making yout chicken and noodles. I want to do a print out but, haven't figured that out yet.
Yumm, I will definitely make this. Thanx ..... I do wanna say Tom I Love the respect n luv u give Mel. Lovely couple, u dont find this in today's world.❤
Love your recipe. I’ve been using those noodles for years, and they are the closest to homemade. I noticed in the beginning to said you had never used that type of noodle before. I thought for sure you would mention if you liked those noodles or not. I love watching you and Melissa
Good morning! I’m making this for my sweet friend, Debbie, just home from the hospital & I just know that this will be as healing as her medicine! Blessings to you both, Jeanette
I make this and we love it:) I put it in containers in the freezer and when my husband wants to have it for lunch, he just pulls it out and heats it up :) tfs and God bless:)
I make chicken & noodles and I add sliced boiled eggs after cooking chicken &noodles. We had good meals when I was in school. I learned to love beef liver from school and both of my children also love beef liver & onions
I make something very similar to this with the Campbell's cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, noodles, butter and chicken. I will have to try your recipe. This is major comfort food to me. Thanks for the recipe.
Thank you so much! We hope to continue our channel for a very long time. It's been a real blessing to us, and we have "met" the nicest people through it. We appreciate that you are at the table with us.
I make mine in the crockpot. Once the chicken is done, take out & shred & add back to broth. Add those noodlrs(they are the best)and let them cook about 40 minutes. The broth thickens on it's own. So good!
Those noodles are awesome, as close to homemade that I've ever found. Your recipe looks very tasty. I would probably add veggies too, and keep my chicken in bite size chunks. But that's just me. I know it would taste delicious either way!!
I think you can find them in Canada and in some specialty candy stores. But not so much in local grocery stores in the US anymore. We really appreciate that you are at the table with us.
I just made your chicken and noodles recipe for dinner for my daughter and I. It was delicious! I added half a bag of mixed vegetables and it was perfect! Generally, I’m not such a good cook, but your recipe was so easy that it turned out just right. Thank you for sharing your dear friend’s recipe. 😊
These looked so yummy, I cooked them tonight. Except I used turkey breast meat I had left. I buy Turkey breast when they are on sale, and cook them. It was fabulous.
That sounds really good! We appreciate so much that you are watching our channel. And we are glad you tried this recipe out! Hope you have a great night.
Love your show! Helpful hint: if you will start eggs to boil out in boiling water it loosens that inner membrane so they will peel easily. Boil them for your regular amount of time.
I made chicken and noodles last night . I made homemade noodles . No cream of chicken . Favorite meal of my husband’s. We had to put his dog down last night so like a good Oklahoma wife I made his favorite food . He is so sad . Breaks my heart .
I'm so sorry to hear that. My girl is almost 14 years old next month. I just hate the thought of losing her. Hugs to you
So sorry for your loss.
We're sending our 14-year-old boy over the bridge soon too😢, not looking forward to it, but it's what's best for our furbaby! They are family,,,, sending sincere condolences & prayers out to you! Comfort food is definitely in order!!!
Oh, Melissa, I am so sorry about your dog. Please give your husband our sincere condolences. 💔
So sorry for your loss…I make my own noodles also, there is nothing better than homemade
So funny; found myself blowing on the spoon to cool the chicken and noodles off as Tom was 😊😊😊
I do the same with a lot of cooking channels🤪😋 too funny!
I love to make this. But I don't add any thickener. Just make a big pan of hot buttery cornbread to crumble in the bowl....then pour the chicken & "noodles" over it. Mmm...mmm....good! 😂😂😂
haha Michelle, I'm so there.
Thank you for using the term supper at the end of this video. That is what I’ve used all my life for the nightly meal. Lol.
It's funny how some people say "supper" and others say "dinner". We tend to use them interchangeably. It's great having you at the table with us.
I have a couple tips for you,

My mom always said to put the liquid into the empty can to help clean the can out before dumping into the rest of the sauce or pan.
Great recipe! May as well add chopped, fresh carrots, celery and onions in with the chicken. Yum! Many thanks….
Same ❤😋
That would be good, almost like a chicken pot pie flavor.
Appreciate how you always arrange the ingredients on the countertop, and explain in such detail how to prepare every dish. Makes your recipes so easy to follow. Keep up the good work.
Can this be made in crock pot n add noodles when done
Can cook the frozen chicken in t h e liquid n cook in crock pot,, add noodles when done
Love some chicken and noodles! I make them with Amish noodles…and green beans on the side… and either homemade biscuits or bread for sopping.
They look Devine. My 58 yr old son is going to love this… thank you. It’s so easy for my 83yr old Mom. Keep these easy recipes coming. I don’t think you’ve mad a recipe that didn’t really like.😊 ThNk you so much.

Thank you. What a great idea. Like you, I cook from a wheelchair and need help to drain pasta or anything really in boiling water.

One our favorites! My 9 year old great grandson has been making it for me when he is with me. So glad he has taken an interest in cooking.

Tonight I volunteered to cook dinner for our church youth Sunday night. Now I know what they are going to eat! Looks delicious!
This is also very good with the frozen noodles. And some homemade bread would be wonderful with this.

Thank you for sharing your tips with us. Those are great suggestions.
I make this often. I add some hot sauce (texas pete or cholula) while cooking for the extra kick. Great simple groceries!
Would that have stick of butter and that quarter cup of flour, you have all the fixings for a beurre manie or “kneaded butter.” Use your fingers to blend the chilled butter into the flower until all the flour is coated with the butter. I made this tonight! So easy and delicious! True comfort food😍
That sounds SCRUMPTILICIOUS ❗️😋🥰😋🥰😋🥰😋🥰😋😁👍
Yummmy. I add a block of cream cheese and sour cream to mine to make it a creamy chicken soup

That looks delicious. The only peasi would add here (no carrots) are the very small LeSeur peas in a can. Very comforting meals. 👍
I have used these noodles for a long time & I always buy the extra wide my family loves them!
Looks delicious! One of these day I might ‘come sit at your table’!
That looks so good you could have corn bread or biscuits with it
Homemade bread 🍞😊. Thanks for sharing these recipes.
I make something very similar to this with the Campbell's cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, noodles, butter and chicken. I will have to try your recipe. This is major comfort food to me. Thanks for the recipe.
Those are excellent noodles, but I make my own.
I was amazed athow easy egg noodles are to make
So simple and, so delicious!!!! Thank you for sharing ❤ your videos. Me and my husband love cooking together! It's the perfect date night!
Making this right now, this is going to be a good warm comfort food for snowy cold nights this winter. Thanks for the recipe
*Thanks for this easy approach. (I've never made noodles, so that sounds difficult.) Looks yummy, and it's a very intuitive recipe.*
I love watching your recipes. Keep them coming.❤❤❤
Thank you so much! We hope to continue our channel for a very long time. It's been a real blessing to us, and we have "met" the nicest people through it. We appreciate that you are at the table with us.
This is a real favorite for my parents.❤😊
I make mine in the crockpot. Once the chicken is done, take out & shred & add back to broth. Add those noodlrs(they are the best)and let them cook about 40 minutes. The broth thickens on it's own. So good!
I’m gonna make this on a cool fall day. Thanks for sharing 😊
I’m so excited to try this tomorrow for supper! Thank you sooo much for making your videos…I’ve learned so much!
We appreciate that you are watching our channel. Your words are very encouraging.
I made this for our supper tonight and for my brother and his wife who aren't feeling well. You are right, this is outstanding comfort food.
I'm going to make this one for sure!!!! Thank you for sharing
Those noodles are awesome, as close to homemade that I've ever found. Your recipe looks very tasty. I would probably add veggies too, and keep my chicken in bite size chunks. But that's just me. I know it would taste delicious either way!!
My favorite food. My go to always. THANKS GOD BLESS. I think they do not make Oh Henry's Bar candy anymore. Still looking thou. ❤️❤️❤️☮️☮️☮️😃👌👍
I think you can find them in Canada and in some specialty candy stores. But not so much in local grocery stores in the US anymore. We really appreciate that you are at the table with us.
Indeed, it's automatic to say Chicken and Dumplin's.
I noticed the spoon continued to stand up on its own in the pot. Yum 😋
These are nice and thick as the spoon indicates. We sure appreciate that you are watching our channel.

I always use my KitchenAid to shred meat. It is easier, and shreds better, when the meat is still hot, not cooled.
Making it Sunday and some cornbread. Already hungry. Thank you both.
You're so welcome. We really hope you enjoy it. Thank you so much for joining us at the table.
Love your show! Helpful hint: if you will start eggs to boil out in boiling water it loosens that inner membrane so they will peel easily. Boil them for your regular amount of time.
That is a great tip. Thank you so much for watching our channel. We appreciate that you are at the table with us.
