Im about to tackle this job, Saturday on a 98 Corolla (mine is split apart and just started clanking doing left turns, I hope its not how I will always remember Memorial day weekend, lol.
hello, i have a werid thing on my 01 corolla. the driver side only, the axle is on a diagonal angle pointing backwards. I dont know why, the wheel has play. Help please! nothing seems broken or making any weird noises. i just got the car a few weeks ago
Take it to a mechanic and ask them to do an inspection related to your concern. Be specific you don't want any work done just someone to have a look at it for you. Stay safe
Hi, ive got a 2001 corolla sport. When i hit 65mph the steering wheel & (it seems) the passenger side of the car starts shaking/vibrating & gets worse if im dumb enuf to go faster. A friend just told me he thinks its the cv axel. Its done this the last 40k miles & has 120k on it. It doesnt leak & rides fine as long as i dont speed lol. The tires wear evenly so will a bad cv axel cause this problem & as long as i drive slow & it doesnt shake will it continue to be ok & reliable? Im on disability & will have to save to have the repair done. Altho im tempted to try fixing it myself after watching your video. Thx paul
A lot of times an issue like that is actually bad tires. A lot of times a small bubble will form between the layers of the tire and cause the car to vibrate at certain speeds (usually higher speeds). If money is an issue, try a tire rotation (it's free if you do it yourself). If the issue improves or gets worse, then you'll need new tires.
Good stuff, is the drivers side procedure is exactly the same? Thanks
Not exactly, but here's a link to my video of the drivers side: th-cam.com/video/voVafq19dis/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5TYttgWrdz32ZSKu
Good video! Shouldn't you also change that seal in there where the axle goes before you install the new axle?
Absolutely! I failed to do that once and had to redo the whole thing to stop the transmission fluid leak.
How to replacement fuel pump corrola 2002 ,thanks

Will a slide hammer with a axle popper adapter help to take it out ??

I already got new tires but have the same issue. So I'm about to do this job to try and get rid of the shaking. We both have the exact same issue.
Had this problem, I replaced the front struts, and now it's smooth sailing. No more vibration got it up to 90. I was stuck at 60 due to bad struts.
