If anything I think the price of them has stayed the same or gone up slightly. The Himi is going to be the equivalent of old VW campers and Landrovers. Years of spares will be in supply for them too. I quite like seeing a bit of off road and a jaunt thru the villages up there. Cheers for the videos.🤗
I've just been on a one day trip to Devil's Pass and Hardknott Pass. The bike was fantastic, but it was the first time I've really been affected by the buffeting. Maybe slightly higher speeds, more open roads etc etc, but the wind noise and buffeting was uncomfortable to say the least. Screen off, or greatly reduced in size seems to be the most popular option. I've seen many people trying taller screens (Puig, Sci Cal?) and a selection of deflectors/extensions that offer little or no improvement. As for content: keep doing what you're doing. I enjoy everything Himalayan, but would follow similar content on other bikes 😊
Like you say most people go for the smaller screens, which seems to give the best results, whereas I would have thought it would have done the opposite. I hope you enjoyed your trip! I imagine it must have been a great trip (wind issues aside) haha. Thanks for the feedback Iain 😊
Hi THD. My fix for the screen on the euro4 was to cut it down leaving it just tall enough to protect the clocks. Clean air is much better than buffeting. Not sure what setup you’re using but the mic seems very sensitive. I have a dead cat and bury it behind a cheek pad. Still hear wind noise but if you eliminate it entirely it sounds unnatural. I’m up for green lanes or country lanes. Anything other than motorway really 🫤 All the best 👍🏼
Thanks for your advice re the mic! I've ordered something slightly better quality and am praying that will do the trick! I currently have it positioned to the left of my helmet. Will give the new one a go there and will pop it behind the cheek pad (fingers crossed that clears up the audio). Thanks for your advice! 😊
I don't currently have any long distance trips planned for this year, but if I can wangle a sneaky 2 day camping trip I will. It may be something more on the cards for next year though. I'd love to do a European tour at some point so watch this space
I've got a screen extension on my Himy with a camera in the same place as you and I too get the wind noise, especially (as in this vid) when up on the pegs. One of those things, I guess, until you start spending shitloads on high-end camera gear and expensive noise suppressed mics etc etc etc. Me, I just narrate in post prod. I like watching your videos though, but I really hope you get the sound sorted! Personally I prefer to see vids of the green lanes on your Himy. Not too fussed about other bikes, TH-cam's full of bike reviews and reviewers. That silly bint in the white hatchback... typical. Vorsprung Durch Witless.
I've since bitten the bullet and brought a slightly better mic, although haven't had the chance to test it yet. I recorded a video yesterday on a different bike to see if it was just the Himalayan, but as I thought, it appears to be the mic. Fingers crossed this one does the trick! Thanks for your feedback! Green Laning is where I tend to have the most fun so there'll be plenty of videos coming over the summer!
Looked fun! Stay safe.
P.s Bars n handguards fitted time to study an OS map. Just some light stuff before ABR.
Have a great time at the ABR!

Let's hope so 😊. 100% agree with the VW and Land Rover comparison!
Thanks for the feedback Simon!

@TheHimalayanDiaries the trip was off the scale... roads were 33%/3:1 in places.

No worries, I hope it helps 👍🏼
Some long distance riding would be good

Highway code says "give way to reversing vehicles", not keep going behind it.
