Cheers for the pre-trip away video. Really appreciate the post, and I'm looking forward to learning about your future tyre choice (or shortlist). I too had to cancel a bike tour this year. Unfortunately, my mate was knocked off his bike (broken arm, but otherwise okay) and unable to travel. We're both very much looking forward to next year. Stay safe, keep riding, and here's to many more dates with your Himalayan Diary 😉
Thanks for your comment Iain! I hadn't thought about doing a tyre shortlist video, but you've inspired me- watch this space! I'm sorry to hear about your friend and your cancelled trip- wishing him a speedy recovery! I'm sure that when you do get to go away next year you'll appreciate it all the more! Stay safe!
Thanks for the enjoyable video. Luv the lanes in your neck of the woods. Not many lanes like these where I live in the north east of England. The lanes in the Yorkshire Dales tend to be rough and quite challenging, up hill and down dale as it were. A lot of the lower lanes are very narrow, rutted affairs; but the scenery is second to none. Hera, my 411 is running Mitas 07's. In my humble opinion, better off road than the oe Ceats and good on the road. Already done more miles than the Ceats, with loads of life left.
I hope to get up north on the bike at some point, although I have a feeling it will be very humbling! Thanks for the tyre tip! Out of interest, do you know how many miles your Mitas have on them?
Two suggestions: 1. I put some Mitas E-07s on my Himmy. VERY satisfied with them on road and trail. Really surprised with the road-holding on tarmac as well. Not great on mileage though, done about 5k on them and the rear needs changing, but it's a balancing act isn't it. Overall very satisfied. 2. Buy a foot for your side stand or, as I did, weld a plate onto it. No more sinking in grass, mud and sand. Massive weight off my mind.
Thanks for both suggestions! A few people have suggested the Mitas now so I think they definitely need to go on my shortlist! You're right about the stand it's a real pain and very disconcerting.
i am really enjoying your vlogs i am swapping my ceat tyres out for the michelin trackers enduro i have them on my crf300l they are fantastic tyres more off road biased but i find them ok on the tarmac anyway keep doing your stuff loving it cheers russell
They're only on 1,350 now and have plenty of life left in them if I'm honest, but I didn't find them very confidence inspiring last year when the lanes got really muddy. In conditions like those in the video though they're more than up to the job
Loved that lane on the peds!
I never did that lane on the ped 😂
Just fitting anlas capra x to my 450 mate has them on his 411... fabulous tyre
Thanks! I'd add them to the shortlist!

Thanks for your comment Russell, it really is appreciated! A CRF and a Himalayan! The best of both worlds! Thanks for the tyre tip- I'll take a look!
What mileage have your original tyres done?
Are they worn out or do you just want a change?
