7:10 the thing you say about "au revoir" could be because you would take the literal meaning, something like: "untill seeing you again"

    I have another one.
This one is mostly (always) used at the end of school year when you’re getting your yearbook signed. H.A.G.S., or just HAGS. It stands for “Have a good summer!”, and nearly every student uses it. I’d say it it’s not necessarily common to say it to your friends, unless you sign their yearbooks or they’re going on vacation or you’re parting ways or something, then it’s said in full form.

Au revoir means lit. until I see you again. Some languages have different words for goodbye/farewell (forever) - when you leave and never plan to come back, and "until we meet again", "until our next encounter" (temporary), like f.eg. slavic languages.

There's a song called "Au revoir" by German singer-songwriter Mark Forster, in which the idea is the exact opposite, something like "It's never going to be the same again, forget about me, forget my name, I'm walking away, au revoir." The song is in German, but still.

Have a good day is usually used in more of a business setting like restaurant, the market at a doctor's receptionist desk, etc. Have a good one is very common and overused, IMHO, in informal settings among friends, although I freely use it. I think as we get older we use fewer of the slang terms. Don't know why. Cheers!

I bet you're saying "Au Revoir" as a non-final way to say goodbye, because it literally means sth. like "Until we meet/see eachother again" we've got the same in german with "Auf Wiedersehen"
I'd be interested in knowing when to use have & have got and if there is any difference, because I honestly do not now.
Also knowing when to use commas would be quite nice, because in German we use them everywhere and in English you use them way less

      Really 😂😂
I have no clue it's an ancient expression, I used to listen to it at the end of one of the youtuber's videos.
That's why when I said it to one of my supervisor doctor at the university her facial expression was like shocked.
