  • Here is a high altitude acceleration, on a 6% uphill grade in the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage ES.
It has plenty of power to drive in the mountains, I find going up these high elevation hills, it's happy to sit at 55 MPH with cruise control, the engine RPM doesn't go over 3,000 doing that. But that's just me in the car, no luggage, or AC.
With 4 people, plus luggage, plus AC, you probably can't go 70 MPH up the high elevation hills on the interstate. But you can do it just fine at 55, even 60 MPH. You can go 70, just a lot more throttle to do so.

@@Vietturtle2023 Awesome! So you have the most expensive Mirage hatchback you can get, right?
GT is the highest trim level, and white costs an extra $500. Right?

@@Vietturtle2023 Yeah! They are nice cars!
When you get the Mirage, you may notice it feels tiny, but I got the measuring tape out, and somehow it's nearly identical to the much larger looking Ford Maverick.. Just the center console is wider in the Maverick, so you're further from the passenger. But leg room is exactly the same, same is head room.

Question-Do you have the accelerator to the floor or are gradually pushing the accelerator as you need more power( feathering) like we used to do with 1970s small engine Toyota and Nissans when we encountered a steep hill.

In this case, I had cruise set to 55 MPH, it was around 2,900 RPM. Then I put the gas pedal to the floor. You can actually hear it hit the floor around the 1 second mark. (:
