You'll want to DIY then. I turbo'd my 2004 Tacoma(6psi) for under $2000 Find a local fab shop, luckily Turn5 is right down the road from me. They did my intercooler piping, welded my turbo flange on my factory manifold and my mounting bracket for my universal intercooler(I bet this company used the same one as me 😁 same side inlet/outlet) for $400, my turbo was $450, fuel controller was $250, extra injector $75, intercooler was $100, bigger fuel pump $120 It isn't that much
@@motodude23it’s really not though 😂😂. How is this luxury without built engine or tranny? It’s not your pushing an unreliable 400hp have fun thinking that’s “luxury” 💀
Thanks for the video. It would be helpful to know the power and torque range you’re targeting for the production kit. Also, how is the turbo fed with oil and how does it drain?
Would love to see how this system holds up after a year of driving. I'd be concerned with longevity and other potential problems with all the weight and the other stock engines components. System does look. I like that the only mod you had to do was cutting the one hole for the intercooler piping.
As far as the stock engine components, they won't be a problem. Lotus uses this engine in their Exige, bolts on an elderbrock supercharger and it produces 430-460 hp @ 7000 RPM.
@@waynemessick149 Late model Lotus' used a lot of forged internals as well as inconel exhaust valves and stainless intake valves. Of which i believe are available to purchase and are drop in components to the 2gr-fks heads. A lot of performance internal engine components are available through monkey wrench racing.
What kind of MPG ratings were you guys getting with the smaller turbo? I for one would like to be able to pick which turbo size I want. I know I want low end power. That is the main reason for even wanting to improve the power of the tacoma. Stock, you really have to wind out the engine in order to get anywhere
drivability would be another reason why the turbo size was increased, because otherwise you're in boost almost immediately upon accel and that can be jarring in a bone stock truck for example
Out of curiosity, but is there no issue with the placement of the turbo intercooler in front of the radiator? This does not block the airway for the radiator?
I’m trying to do the same thing for my 2021 4Runner but it seems like no one is running turbos I have a friend that can build the kit just having question about tuning and not having those issues you guys came across
I thought that when adding a turbo to a non-turbo engine, you also had to replace the valves and other internal components. Will those upgrades be required?
I know the 4th gen is out and you guys are making great content on those trucks but, are there any updates on this kit? Pricing, release date, dyno numbers?
So how does it perform being that Atkinson cycle engines aren’t necessarily built for short term boost and usually perform “better with constant boosted air flow” I want a turbo kit for my Tacoma definitely.
I’m not a turbo genius. And I want to learn. But I saw in the video. Around 5:30, you mentioned that the smaller turbo was causing lower mpgs because it was building boost in the lower rpm range vs the new turbo. I believe you, you obviously know more than I do, but that was completely backwards from what I originally thought it would be. Does anyone know why
I believe it’s because of the added air that is being pushed out from the smaller turbo and when that happens the ecu adds more fuel into the mixture to keep a healthy Afr. More air needs more fuel.
For anyone asking for an update on this, just know this “kit” has blown multiple Tacoma engines. They are no longer going forward with it and it will never come out. The engine internals just can’t handle the boost!
Anybody else disappointed with the quality of their products? Bought a grill and rock sliders, six months in the grill is fading like crazy, the LED’s are faded, and the powder coating on the rock sliders is fading, it looks like sh!t. Taking their crap of my truck and going for something better.
my most anticipated tacoma product of all time 🤣
Awesome that you will be offering this to the Tacoma community! Great work!
LoL for my RC350F! 😅 I need 🐌 power🔋
When will it be available?
They seem to not respond to any comments about the setup. I’ve tried several times on Instagram too. No reaponse. Kinda sucks.
Make it SUPER AFFORDABLE…don’t try and make your money back on 10sells…🤣😂🤣!!! Thanks for the work you do guys…👍🏻👍🏻!!!

any ETA on this kit? I would love to do a turbo kit in this truck.
If you're running this in Phoenix az like I am make sure you get 2 cooling fans mounted in the hood with vents.
What is the recommended BOOST range? Power levels @6-10psi, on the old turbo? What are the actual turbo specs?

Nicely done. Looking forward to your final product.
Any news of when this will be available?

What about the whole driveline?
I would love to see this kit come to the market and eventually get one for my truck!
How does it work with ;
1. Trans cooler
2. 12k winch (apex badland) nd bamf steel bumper .
Any new updates
I know it's early but any kind of price range expectations?

Still plenty of low end but way more efficient bigger turbine
If your including a BOV in the kit, you should really consider a recirculating tial BOV. VTA on MAF tuning, for the public is asking for issues.
But that takes 90% of the fun of having a turbo away! Lol
@@arimadxagreed. BOV noises are so satisfying.
Did you change injectors or you leave the oem?
horsepower and torque from it?????
Curious on this kit for manual tacos and also will you have tuning support like E tuning or do we have to locate a local tuner to have this tuned
Out of curiosity, but is there no issue with the placement of the turbo intercooler in front of the radiator? This does not block the airway for the radiator?
More concerned with the space it takes up that a winch would normally be sitting in. It appears that is doesn’t impact it at 3:35.
Will this kit work with the 2nd gen 4.0l v6 tacoma and if not how hard would it be to make it work
It would be a different kit because it is a different engine. Custom pipes and manifolds will need to be made.
Updates on this?
When is this going to be complete? Have you made a follow up video?
Any update? When will this be available?
Still recommend gears even with the turbo kit? Thinking my stock 4.30 gears and 285/75/17’s may be good with just a turbo?
What power did it make I got a 5th gen 4Runner I’m working on making a custom turbo kit
Very cool. Keep us updated
Big question anyway I can do this with having a snorkel?
How is the kit going?
Kit is good to go, We are working on the right tune.
Can't wait to hear more about this!

Not until we get results for the Tacoma.

Any update 😅
Still at the tunning company unfortunately
@@Runnin4Tacos thx! 🙏 is the manual trans supported?
Looking forward to it
What size AR did you use ??
Any updates? It’s been 4 months. What’s the specs, ect.
It's been 7 months now 😂

Did this kit ever got released??
I need the kit where to buy it?
I thought that when adding a turbo to a non-turbo engine, you also had to replace the valves and other internal components.
Will those upgrades be required?
depends on power level, you can supercharge these with Magnuson SC on stock internals just fine
As long as you don’t try to go boost crazy you should be ok.
Any updates yet?
Good move putting the MAF after the blowoff, if you have it before the blowoff its going to cause a lot of problems
any up dates
This turbo kit will include tune already ??
This may be listed somewhere else, but will this only be able to run on 91 octane or will there be a tune to run 87 octane?
Any updates on how this Turbo project is going?
When will this kit be released? I have a 18 tacoma sr5 4 cyl

How are you friend, I would like to know if I can put a turbo in my 2014 Toyota Tacoma and how much would it cost me?
Updates on the kit?!
Is this still in the works?? Can’t find anything anywhere. And much rather this than a supercharger
Could do a recirculating valve instead of a BOV, but relocating the MAF works too. I got annoyed with BOV and hearing them on Hondas all the time.
Is this for the 2.7?
I think it’s for v6
Any update?
where is this!?!?!?!?

Any chance you're making one for the 2ng gen?? If you make this thing around $2k you will destroy the supercharger market...

Here’s hoping it will be a cheaper alternative to. 10 grand supercharger
Bro can you make it fit my RC350F!? 💸
Haha I wish. I'm surprised there's not a kit already

I’m guessing this flopped?
Most def 😂 it blew the motor, multiple motors
Well the snorkel and crossing rivers is now pointless? 😅
I’ve never owned a turbo vehicle or a supercharged vehicle. What do you mean by not being able to do water crossings
Sucks that you guys gave up on this and didn’t say anything.
Why not just use the bolt on supercharger? So much easier and not so many extra parts.
We want to produce more power than what the supercharger can provide. This kit actually has less parts than the supercharger kits
